Help! Macbook turns off automatically!

Help! My Macbook has just started to just switch off without warning. The mac says the battery is charged. I usually have the power adaptor kept plugged in. Is this bad? Is it the reason. I have tons of memory left. I am barely doing anything on it. Not more than i usually have anyway. Just messenger, iTunes and safari. Surely it shouldn't be cutting out. What is wrong?

Call AppleCare or take it in to an Apple Store. It's a known problem; it'll have to be fixed.

This morning I turned my MacBook and started reading new emails in Mail. Suddenly it turned itself off. I mean automatically. I thought it went asleep, so I touched the keyboard but it wouldn't come back. So I pressed the power button, and it started turning on then right after making the CD-ROM noise I usually hear when it turns on it went off again. I kept doing this for about a minute, then it finally turned on and booted up successfully. Then a minute later it turned itself off again. This time when I pressed the power button it started ok. Any experiences? Any advices?

Mine lasted exactly three weeks. It shut down this afternoon without warning, with Firefox running and about 3 Keynote files open.
However, there were portents starting last night.
- I noticed that Front Row didn't work, from the remote or the computer. Did his happen spontaneously, after my first repair for sudden shutdown three weeks ago, or after I upgraded to 10.4.7. I don't know.
- Then I discovered the the Sound and Security preferences weren't working, either, after both having done so earlier in the day.
- Then my AC adater started to sizzle and the temperture of the computer shot up from about 55C to 100C, and the fans kicked in. I disconnected the adapter and the temperture quickly dropped back into the 50s.
- Finally, I had noticed my MacBook was taking an inordinate amount of time to close Keynote files.
So I decided to reinstall from my CD to 10.4.6, then did the 10.4.7 update. I did get my preferences back, but not Front Row. That was late last night. Keynote was snappier.
And then this afternoon, the shutdown. It hasn't happened since, I'd like to think it had something to do with having several Keynote files open at the same time, but frankly I don't put much trust my MacBook at the moment.

1. Non volatile random access memory (NVRAM) is where the computer stores user's settings, like time and date, speaker volume, energy saver settings etc.
2. Reseting NVRAM has no impact on anything on your hard drive, or anything else on the computer.

ICloud Turns OFF Automatically

iCloud turns off automatically on my iphone 4S. Has anyone experience this problem before? I am using the iOS 7.1.1. Everything in the iCloud settings such as Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Safari, Notes, Photos, Documents & Data suddenly gets turned off and it's so very bad, when i use the iphone and emergency call to my friend, it's not impossible when no access to internet to sync again.
Also when it's happend my contact setting clear, for example set the cusome ringtone for each contact person. and this very very bad for apple device. please help me to correct this problem in my device.

Also struggled for a long time. iCloud documents between Iphone and Macbook were syncing, but not with iPad. The following seems to have sorted out the problem (did it only on iPad):
Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings
After doing this, all my iCloud documents appeared in:
Settings - iCloud - Storage and Backup - Manage Storage - Pages.
All devices are now syncing

Thanks for the reply. On my computer I am running PSCS2 and InDesign CS4. I went into InDesign Preferences and disabled running scripts. Then I opened PhotoShop, preferences and there was a option to uncheck, automatically start Bridge with PhotoShop. I swear I looked for this option 4 or 5 times and it was not there. Now either I am going looney or disabling the option to run scripts in CS4 did the trick. If any of you are still using CS2 would you confirm that the option is or is not there to disable bridge when starting PSCS2.
I am thankful that you guys have helped me to resolve this. I am still curious as to whether I am going looney....you guys are the best!

Installed itunes on another computer and need to turn off automatic update

I have itunes on my desktop at home and it is set to manually update my songs on my ipod (I have more songs on my 80GB ipod video than on my desktop). I am now traveling with a laptop and just installed itunes on my laptop. itunes won't let you turn off the automatic update setting until you plug your ipod into your computer. I am afraid to plug my laptop into my computer because it will automatically update the music (wipe out all my music on my ipod). Can I somehow turn off automatic update (switch to manual) before I plug my ipod into my laptop? Also, I know there is software that allows you to move the music from the ipod to the laptop, but I don't want to move all that music to the laptop. I want to continue updating my ipod manually on my laptop. Please help. Thanks in advance.

If you set the iPod to be manually managed on one computer, that setting will follow the iPod to any other computer you connect it to. However, even if you don't have the iPod set that way, when you connect the iPod to a foreign library, you'll receive an message in iTunes when it recognizes the iPod that the iPod is synced with another library, and you can click 'Cancel' and still get to the iPod's Summary page to put it into manual mode, without it changing any content on the iPod. If it makes you feel better, you can also click Edit and go to Preferences, click the Syncing tab, and select the option to "Disable automatic syncing for iPods & iPhones" prior to connecting your iPod.

Hi and welcome to the Skype Community,
On Skype for desktop (Windows, Mac) just use "Sign out" from the "Skype" menu once. This will take you back to the Skype sign in screen. Next time you sign in from there just make sure you have the "Sign me in when Skype starts" checkbox not checked.
On Skype for iPad:
Open the Skype app settings from the iOS settings menu. I think there should be an option to disable automatic sign in.

I am using German OS therefore maybe the items are called differently in English:
1) Go into the main menu
2) Select "Alerts"
3) select the Profile you like to adjust
4) Select App Alerts
5) Select Email
6) You sould see your 3 mail accounts listed
7) Select the one you like to "mute" and you can set everything (sound, LED, vibration etc. individually for this acount)

LENOVO G400 TURN OFF AUTOMATICALLY AND NOT LOAD BIOS SETUP

i have a lenovo g400, once i turn on it only the lenovo name appears in the screen and then it turn off automatically and then turn on and turn off again and so on... also I was having problem that my Lenovo G400 laptop did not display Press F2 to Enter Setup during the boot process, and because of this, no amount of hammering the F2 button would allow access to the BIOS. I attempted all of the standard fixes, pulled the battery, held power down for 30 seconds, removed the HDD -- nothing would cause this to appear. i dont know whats the problem of my laptop..please help me to fix it..

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Can you try to access the BIOS by pressing the OneKey Recovery button.

If you manage toget in, try prssing F9 to reload factory defaults then press F10 to save and exit (this should reset the hardware configuration of the machine).
If you still can't get into the BIOS and the machine still turns off after POST (lenovo screen) then there's likely a hardware component that's failing. If you have a spare PC, try to create a Lenovo Bootable USB Diagnostics and boot from it by pressing F12.
Alternatively, you can contact Lenovo (for service) or contact one of the Lenovo Authorized Service centers below

My iPod turns off automaticly. It is not just locking it fully shuts down. And videos will not play.

Try Hard Reset > Restore > Contact Apple for service.

And yet the link you posted only tells you how to do it on the Facebook App for Android. Nothing about the Facebook page is mentioned at all, or how to do it on an iPhone.
With that said, and assuming you have the most up to date version of the Facebook App, you can now turn the auto play feature Off within the Facebook App itself. Tap on the "More" icon on the bottom right, then scroll down to Settings->Videos and Photos->Auto Play. If Smart auto-Play is on turn it off. Then you can set the check mark on "Never Play Videos Automatically" which is the same as Off.

Standard troubleshooting steps are reset, restore, restore as new.
Since resetting isn't working, try backing up and restoring through iTunes.

I just bought apple i phone 4 10 days back from AT &T Retail outlet, then I set up account on itune and i saw to update the software version and i did it to 4.3.3, after that I am facing two problem 1) Battery is draining like water and 2) while I was talking on phone with family and friends It turn off automatically, Initially I thought I might made some mistake but afterward I noticed that It happen again and again without I touch anything on screen or at phone. I guess Apple suppose to do something and help the customers, anyway but I am still under 30 days warranty period I am going to return it back and I guess may be there are lot of other options available comparing iphone4. but Lets wait what kind of solutions apple bring to me.

No matter what the product, there will always be some off the line that are defective. It's a fact of life.
The phone has a 1 year Warranty, not 30 days. I'm sure they'll be happy to replace it for you.
Now, that said, have you bothered to sync the phone to make sure you don't have to come back whining because you got your phone replaced and now you can't find your stuff?

Thanks Michael. I had no idea that that menu was even there, and it seems odd that it's not accessible frome the regular menu bar (or is it??). But indeed, I do see it now and this may help. The reason I said this approach is still less than ideal is that it will require me to remember all of the accidental unflaggings between syncs to my computer, and then manually reflag everything.... and if I want to be sure to do it right I'll have to take notes etc, which is quite a burden just to get around something that used to work effortlessly and automatically until Apple "improved" it... But thanks!
