HELP - mail error [SYS/PERM]
iMac Intel, Mac OS 10.8.4, email POP home user account, only one user.
Shortly after upgrading to Mac OS 10.8.4 (from 10.6.8) this problem started.
I can send email but cannot receive them, I got error [SYS/PERM].
I cannot find anything like that on the WEB but for server.
All the account setting are OK (unchanged), I can access my email on the WEB connection with the same user name and password. My provider say that their system is not the problem (after checking all the setting with them).
What have been done:
Repair permission.
Check if the mail folder and the login.keychain was read/write for the user.
Repair disk from an external drive.
Zap PRAM
Delete the mail account and recreate it.
Removing the mail folder, creating a new empty one, and recreating the setting.
MORE:
Starting up from an external hard drive, clean system, creating a new mail account with the same setting.

Hello mac eXperts,
I get error "[SYS/PERM] Temporary drop /var/mail/.user1.pop not owned by user1". I'm trying to find temporary folder and .user1.pop file to delete it but I can't find it. Any suggestion?
I think to solve this error is deleting .user1.pop, but not sure. If someone could give me a hand I appreciate.

Let's go to some basics. How many accounts do you have, and how many of them of POP accounts? In the Finder, open Home/Library/Mail and check to see if there are the same number of POP account folders, as you have POP addresses? Is the name of the POP folder for the account that is not working, of the same form and structure, as the others?
Open the POP folder for this account, and report the files and folders at its root level? Next, open the INBOX.mbox folder in this POP account folder, and report the files and folders at its root level?
In all the names of the files related to this account's POP folder, are there any slashes (/)?

Can not receive Mac mail -error Outlook cannot find the server. Verify the server information is entered correctly in the Account Settings, and that your DNS settings in the Network pane of System Preferences are correct. Account name: "MacMail"
What are the correct mail account settings and more importantly the correct DNS settings

You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
• Server name: imap.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 993
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
• Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 587
• SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria: 8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers. If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message. Go to http://appleid.apple.com then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.

Hi All,
I am getting error "Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 500"
in one of my Test Environment when trying to run the SSRS 2012 report from report manager.
Any clue why it is happening.

Upon investigation found that there was no space (0 Byte is available) in E drive where underlying SQL DB is residing.
Once I cleared the space, report started working and above error was not displaying.

File To Mail - Error in sender CC

I am trying out a File to mail scenario following the Blog /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/07/mail-adapter-xi--how-to-implement-dynamic-mail-address
I am getting the following error in the File Sender Comm Channel :
Mail: error occurred: com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleException caused by: com.sap.aii.messaging.srt.BubbleException: Failed to call the endpoint [null "null"]; nested exception caused by: java.io.IOException: no sender address specified
I could also see the payload is empty in the Receiver Mail CC
Now can anybody help getting me the mail ...

Another newbie WIN Mail Errors
Sorry if this is not the correct board - it is my first visit.
For weeks now, I've been pulling out my hair rotating from Verizon to HP to msn to windows tech support over this:
In any website, clicking their 'Contact Us' button or forwarding anything form there, I always got a windows mail popup "Error 0x800CCCf0; Windows could not send . After many calls and re-settings, an HP tech told me today to just use Windows Live instead. This brings up a new error:
"Unable to send or receive messages for the Msn (z7udumm) (1) account. There was an unexpected error and Windows Live Mail can't sync the messages in your Hotmail account. To sync your messages, in Windows Live Mail, remove your Hotmail account and then add it again. To view messages in your Hotmail account, go to http://hotmail.live.com on the Web.

From where do I remove/ readd the Hotmail account? What does all of this gobbledigook mean? Can anyone help? Thank you very muchWell, it's pretty much designed and meant to be a single-user machine, at least so far. There is only one Contacts app which, of course, feeds and drives everything else.
You can easily import your whole Address Book into hers and then sync that one to the iPad. That might result in some duplication but that's not too serious a problem, I hope. Arrangement details, Groups and etc., will have to be negotiated also.

Hi there,
We are getting error messages in SOST and some of the emails are not going out. The error messages is "Cannot process message, no route from USERNAME to SID:500:USERNAME". This client on that SID is used for CUA purposes and the connection is present in SM59 and there is no authorization and connection problem as I tested it there.
Dont know how to resolve this issue. Any hints. The communication method is set to remote mail in SU01 and in SCOT I can see the errors under RML.
Any ideas how to resolve it.
ThanksThanks everybody for the responses. I think I have to explain it more in detail here. In SRM we are using procurement. All the emails go out find to all suppliers. On one day we noticed failures just for one person and it gets repeated whenever the SMTP job runs. That user is set to RML in SU01 that is remote mail. The error messages in SOST is that same as I stated in my problem for the first time. I deleted all of them and its still keeps on throwing the cannot send email message whenever the SMTP job runs. The strange thing is that whenever I delete the message the same number of message appears with the status of waiting. I left it there for a day and then deleted all of them and then it vanished. I dont know how this thing works but the problem is resolved. All the settings/configuration mentioned by you guys are done correctly and I verified it.
At this point I like to understand how remote mail is different from email in SU01. Why the same number of messages keep on coming up as soon as I deleted the failed message in SOST.

1. Can you please check wheather SAPCOnnect ( TCode SICF) is activated for your system.
2. Check Code page in SCOT and the name of the mail host.
3. Go to TCode SCOT, Check "Internet" in "Supported address type" click on "Set" and in the "Address Area" put "*"
4. Please also check whether the connection between your SAP server and the mail host( SMTP host) working.
5. Check whether SAPConnect job has been scheduled
If you are still gettting problem please paste Log from SOST.

'cannot get mail' error message
Getting 'cannot get mail' error message for my hotmail on iphone and ipad, tried resetting account and passwords, not helping...any ideas??
My email started working -- on its own -- at 7 PM. That means that from 4 AM until 7 PM, I received no email.
However, I knew I missed some messages. It's now the NEXT MORNING and those missed messages still have NOT arrived. I has hoping they were in a queue or something and would still be arriving.
This is HORRIBLE. Gosh only knows what I missed beyond the few that a couple friends told me about.
If this happens one more time, I'll leave icloud.com's email. This is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. In all the years of having had MobileMe prior to iCloud email, nothing like this ever happened.

Can anyone explain why, on both my iPhone and now my new iPad2, I periodically get these bizarre mail error messages telling me that the device is unable to get my mail (usually from my "other" mail account but sometimes from my Gmail account) and that I need to check my settings. I haven't changed any of the settings in any of my several accounts and if I ignore the error message the next time or two the device goes to check mail it can get it perfectly fine without my having to do anything at all with the mail settings. sometimes I reboot the device. I seem to recall there being at least a few threads about this here and that it was some sort of known bug, but with this new interface that Apple has set up I cannot figure out how to actually search for the thread. I can't say I'm in love with this new interface.

There is something strange about how Apple and Yahoo communicates, I think there is some exchange in the middle that is causing the problems. The reason for me saying this is the error I got periodically stating that "Cannot Get Mail, The user name or password for imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com is incorrect". Why imap.APPLE.mail.yahoo.com ???
I did however setup a "Other" mail type account using the POP and SMTP settings from Yahoo and it works like a charm now, no more problems and I can now even use a different reply to e-mail address. Only issue might be that you no longer have the Yahoo side custom mail folders on the iPhone, but this is no big deal for me.
For the incoming server I used pop.mail.yahoo.com with my Yahoo username and password (username without @yahoo.com)
For outgoing, SMTP, Hostname I used smtp.mail.yahoo.com with my Yahoo username and password (username without @yahoo.com), SSL = ON, authentication = Password and server port 465
Under advanced settings for outgoing mail server, Use SSL = ON , authentication = Password and server port 995.
I am not claiming that I understand all of the above, but it works. Hopefully this may point you in the right direction. -
Recently we downloaded some upgrades from Apple and now Help, Mail, iTunes, Safari and Quicktime will not launch. The icon dances on the dock, and the operating system records the program as having opened, but the program does not come up and the icon menu on the dock still displays open rather than quit. I have tried re-installing the programs to no avail.

RoboHelp Server 7 Help System Errors
Whenever I publish my RH 7 Help project to server, I check
the RoboHelp Server Web Administrator for errors. I always get Help
System Error "Requested file cannot be found" for a file called
bsscfp.txt. To my knowledge, this is a control file generated
during the publishing process. If this is the case why is an error
being generated for a file I have no control over? Also, I find the
Troubleshooting section of RoboHelp Server Web Administrator to be
rather useless in correcting issues. Is there any reference
documentation that explains some of the cryptic error messages that

Just to clarify your setup. When you say "Project pane" are
you referring to the Configuration Manager on the server itself.
Or, are you referring to something you are seeing from the RoboHelp
authoring client app's Server Administration pane?
If you have access to the actual server desktop and view the
Configuration Manager, sometimes on a new installation, you can do
a "refresh" and the project will show up.
A few more questions:
Have you tried accessing the website and does the project
come up in the web browser?
On what kind of web server did you install RHS7? Windows
2003, etc.?
Is Microsoft Indexing Services turned on?
Apparently you were able to successfully publish your project
to the server so there is "communication" between your desktop and
the server I gather.
A few more details and we'll try to help.
