Help making 2D shape into 3D

Hi all
I am trying to design a logo. Part of it involves a justice scales. To make the 2D image into a 3D image, I have been using the 3D rotate option. It has worked fine except for one part. The hooks on the balance are lost with this feature. I know why this happens but I'm very new to illustrator and don't know how else I could get this to work. I have attached a few images here to explain what I mean. If you need more info just ask.

But in this case it should probably be a extrusion instead of a revolve.
The 3D Effect is not intended to be a ful fledge 3D rogram though it could probably be developed to be something better than it is.
And the 3D Effect was launched because of misunderstanding

I need help making this shape.

I made this shield in PS.
The edges are very rough. Can you help teach me how to make the edges smoother?
Here is what i did:
I made the left half of the shield with the pen tool.
I then used paths and click on load path as selection.
I filled the selection with a solid color, then duplicated the layer and flipped horrizontaly to make the shield complete.
I think what i did wrong was to make the path a selection.
I still consider my self tobe a novice when it comes to the pen tool, but i wanted to make this shield shape my self and not just
download a shape.

I found that the anti-alias option was turned on when ever i would click on it but checking seemed to make the outer (gold shield) less jagged on the oute side, simply by checking it.
Now i am trying to get the inner shield (blue) to not be jagged.
I copied the layer, filled it in with blue then transformed (shrank) it just a little bit. It was jagged.
I then copied the layer, filled it with blue, converted it to a smart object, transformed (shrank) it and it was jagged.
At this point I redid what you said with the paths again for the blue layer, but then...
This time after selecting anti-alias option, i went back to a blank layer, right clicked in the path selection, free transformed (shrank) filled the layer with blue.
This has fixed the problem.

I need help making a query into a recordset

I have a detail page with a query that uses the "IN" statement to select from multiple states from the state_label field in my table
and display the zips, cities, and counties related to those states.
The query works great if I use regular menus with a single selection, but I need a comma separated menu
to be used to allow for multiple zips, cities and counties to be selected.
In order to make a texbox into a comma separated menu, I need to define my recordset to retrieve the values, I just can't figure out how to make amy query into a recordset.
This is the query.

As far as I know this will be included in the next ISO release. I solved it by manually bringing the dmraid package to the install and wrote a guide on installing your root system on dmraid. However when the system crashes I have the slight inconvenience of having to install dmraid and manually mount the sets to do a recovery. I guess this is the part you want to get rid of aswell. I decided to wait until the next holy ISO.

How can I disable making live shape rectangle in the first place but normal one instead in Illustrator CC? When I create rectangle I can't transform it by dragging and it's only the problem with rectangle, not with circle, star etc. I try show/hide edges/bounding box reset preferences and reinstall whole illustrator CC and it's the same. I can only make this right by expand this rectangle, which is shape as is turn out to rectangle by clicking object>shape>expand rectangle. But this is so frustrating. Help!:) oh, and I use OSX. My friend has the same specs and it's works. I mean she can use live shape corner transformations and changing size by draging:(

I’ve created my own plugin (available for free for personal and commercial use) which imitates behavior of the ‘old’ Rectangle Tool. It doesn’t replace the Live Rectangle – it works completely independent!
My Plain Rectangle Tool correctly snaps to grids/objects/points and correctly aligns to grid/points on resize. Of course it supports the SHIFT and ALT/OPTION keys, Snap to Grid and Smart Guides options. In other words it works almost 100% the same as the Rectangle Tool we know from CC (17.1), CS6 and earlier.
The installation package (zxp) adds ‘Plain Rectangle Tool’ icon into the Ai panel (of curse you can assign your custom keyboard shortcut to it as well)
Note: The Plain Rectangle can be easily converted into the Live one using Object > Shape > Convert to Rectangle

How can i insert a heart shape into keynote

"I've tried the draw tool but no success." - Do you mean the tool in the shapes pull-down? It seems to work for me, but I'm not an artist. You might try importing a heart shape you want then use the draw tool to trace around it to get the correct outline you are looking for. When making a shape with the drawing tool, don't forget to place the last edit point over the first and double-click to complete the shape outline. Once drawn, use the graphic tab of the Inspector to assign a fill color. Clicking inside the shape should allow you to add text.

Why cut shapes into text in 3D (Photoshop CS6)?

Right. Hello all.
I'm having a little bit of an issue with photoshop cs6 3d function. It's pretty damn good (I'm using it for the first time) and I'm pretty impressed. However, whenever I go through a prelim render to get the jist of what the text I'm working on will look like, it decides to cut a random shape into a specific letter (the letter 'A', capitalised, News Gothic, Caps).
Why is it doing this?
I've tried multiple times to start over again after trying to change as much as possible but it still comes back and always comes back affecting the 'A'! Please see screengrab below.

It's pretty damn good
*lol* Armies of 3D artists using "real" 3D programs would disagree. That aside, your issue is pretty clear - your contour contains messy points/ duplicate points in that specific corner and it screws up the triangulation. You need to create the text as paths, manually clean them up and extrude the result. Not so good anymore, eh?

Importing Shapes into Photoshop

I'm trying to import an Adobe Shape into Photoshop. The tutorial says to go to Photoshop, then Window, then CC libraries. My Window tab does not display the CC libraries option. What am I doing wrong? Please help!

This is the Lightroom forum. You stand a better chance of getting help if you post in the Photoshop forum.
In any event, here are some thoughts: Do you have a CC subscription or are you using a stand alone (perpetual license) version of Photoshop?
If you do have a CC subscription, what you are looking for is "Libraries" under the Window menu (not CC Libraries). Then click on the "Learn more about Libraries" and explore your options there.

How to turn 2 shapes into 1?

Hey there everyone ... Level: Newbie'ish OS: Win7-64bit PS: CS6
I would like to take 2 Rounded Rectangle shapes that I have rotated by 45 degrees and make them one shape so that the Paths of each rectangle become one.
I've looked up Paths, Shapes and other things in the manual but I've been unable to narrow down the right keywords to find what I'm looking for.
I have used the Pen Tool but I'm not satisfied with the outcome of the Rounded Corners. I know I can use Combine Shapes but not when I first need to Rotate the shape.
Pretty sure I've done this before but for the life of me I cannot recall how nor can I find it in my notes.
Here's a pic of what I want to change into one shape with one continuous path.
Sure would appreciate your ideas and/or any links to info that could help me to accomplish this

you can also try:
two shapes are made on separate layers
select the two layers, select merge shapes
merged shapes into one layer

I need help making the USB install of os Tiger.
The drive is having trouble reading the install disc I own so I am trying to make a USB install of it.
I wantto install from the usb not install to it to be clear.
Things I have!
X1 8gig sandisk flash drive
1 Macbook white 1.8 ghz Intel
1 Pc with Macdrive 7
1 Install disc that seems to have trouble being read in the drive > few marks on the disc and the mac DVD drive make lots of noise reading it but
It will go to Disk utilities.
Seems to be a bug in Tiger and restore doesn’t seem to work as in I can’t drag and drop a source to the restore the DVD to the flash drive.
I already tried only 1 time to copy the DVD to the formatted flash drive using Macdrive and it read it as a bootable drive but the apple simple came up
And then I got a the error (Can’t find driver for this platform error APCH or something like that.
I have a torrent download of OS x 10.4.6 as well just in case some files are corrupted > I own the disk so it’s not illegal.
I am new to mac but long time user of PC.

Ok ..you need another Mac to make this work!
you just use another mac even a old one like g4 to make a restore to a flash drive that you have formatted and verified.

The proceedure is pretty much the same in
PHP/Coldfusion/JSP/ASP.
There is a very easy to follow example in the Dreamweaver

I don't think it can get much easier. But remember that you
will need to have a database table of user details in place to
complete the process.
