[help] Making a snow effect in livetype?

Hello, I'm sort of a new member here at Apple Discussions, and I have a question about LiveType.
Is there any way to make like a snow effect in LiveType? Because we're making a holiday special broadcast for our school, and I want to make like a falling snow effect (like real snow, not snow text.)
If anyone knows, please post, thank you in advance. :]

 That is you make three copies of the text but this time I composed the text as one unit using baseline shift and different type sizes and spacing.
 
 Once I had text they way I wanted it and the three copies I kept one as is, in this case the black version.
 
 I then gave a color to the bottom most and gave it a sufficient Offset path setting to look solid.
 
 So there is now black text and a solid colored background in and expanded shape of the text.
 
 I then outlined the text for the text that had been offset and then used the pathfinder to merge the different paths within that art. That would be the first icon on the top left of the pathfinder panel.
 
 I then gave the text in between and outline twice the weight I wanted the gap to be and no fill and flattened the transparency choosing to outline the strokes.
 
 Then I selected the outlined I just created and the background I created before leaving the
 the outline on top of the background and went back to the pathfinder and chose to minus the front. The second icon on the top left of the panel.
 
 And there you are.
 
 Now I can do a Video or perhaps someone like Mordy will stop by and clean up my explanation as I understand i am often not easy to follow as far as my writing is concerned.

It's definitely advised to have a backup, but that is not normally a reason why a download does not work.
So, can you try to post the exact message you got please. And, please post the exact steps you took to get where this happened.
Please do not use all caps - it is very difficult to read and considered shouting on the internet.

First of all, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone that replied to my previous question, it's helping me a lot, but now I have another question... and another huge thank you in advance for all of your help.
How would I go about making a 3D effect of a person's hand reaching out of the computer screen? If possible, a step by step guide on how to set this up during the production and post production stages with Final Cut Pro?
I've tried finding the answers online, but can't seem to locate instructions or guidance. Would appreciate it!

i don't completely understand your reply 100%..
the text is not in the cnentre, it is to the left of screen and comes down from the top, to the middle of the screen (almost) and then moves right to end up in the centre of the screen (horizontally). could you just explain the anchor point a little? is that the centre point in the 3D panel, or in the motion tab in viewer? if i change it to centre then it will just affect the position of the text, to be in the wrong spot.

HELP! Quickstart Help Needed! Any Effect Welcome!

I have had FCE HD for 3 weeks and would now like to try some simple effects using LiveType.
However, a cursory examination of the manual put me off completely!
I would just like to try out some very simple yet spectacular effect which might encourage me to take another look.
Could some kind soul give me some simple instructions for a stunning effect which would spur me into Reading the Manual!

It looks like a simple to understand set of instructions to get me going. The manual was just too intimidating. This looks great! I can actually understand it!

Help making a Install USB of os x 10.4.6. for my Macbook 1.8ghz

I need help making the USB install of os Tiger.
The drive is having trouble reading the install disc I own so I am trying to make a USB install of it.
I wantto install from the usb not install to it to be clear.
Things I have!
X1 8gig sandisk flash drive
1 Macbook white 1.8 ghz Intel
1 Pc with Macdrive 7
1 Install disc that seems to have trouble being read in the drive > few marks on the disc and the mac DVD drive make lots of noise reading it but
It will go to Disk utilities.
Seems to be a bug in Tiger and restore doesn’t seem to work as in I can’t drag and drop a source to the restore the DVD to the flash drive.
I already tried only 1 time to copy the DVD to the formatted flash drive using Macdrive and it read it as a bootable drive but the apple simple came up
And then I got a the error (Can’t find driver for this platform error APCH or something like that.
I have a torrent download of OS x 10.4.6 as well just in case some files are corrupted > I own the disk so it’s not illegal.
I am new to mac but long time user of PC.

Ok ..you need another Mac to make this work!
you just use another mac even a old one like g4 to make a restore to a flash drive that you have formatted and verified.

HELP! Adding video effects

Alright, so I am new to Macs, I just got my first for Christmas. It's the newest model Macbook. I'm using iMovie 08, and for some reason I just can't figure out how to add effects. I've watched the tutorial video numerous times, and it says "it's so easy, just double click on the video" blah blah blah. In the tutorial video it shows a box pop up and there you can select "add effect" or something of the sort. Now, when I double click my videos in the project area, it just plays the video starting where I double clicked. I thought I was following the tutorial to a T, but I suppose I'm wrong. Please help!!

The effects are in iMovie 09, which has not been released yet. It will be released in stores in a week or two.

I looked on Adobe's site and they "advertise" fillable forms for the iPhone and Android markets, but on the Windows Phone tab, that is mysteriously missing. lol Maybe it will come later? The proceedure is pretty much the same in
PHP/Coldfusion/JSP/ASP.
There is a very easy to follow example in the Dreamweaver
Help File.
Just go to Help-->Developing Applications Rapidly -->
Building pages that restrict access to your site (ColdFusion, ASP,
JSP, PHP) --> Building a login page
I don't think it can get much easier. But remember that you
will need to have a database table of user details in place to
complete the process.

First you need to research all the problems people are having with the higher OSX versions, & make sure you have a bootable clone of what you have just in case.
then you must get 10.6 if they still have it, install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.
