Help me choose an MP3 play

Well I've been looking at vazrious models and manufacturers. They all have pluses and minuses. I was looking at the Creative Vision: M but am not sure if it's right for me.
What's important:
Sound quality and flexibility in MP3 bitrates ( I may actually choose VBR for all my ripped tracks).
Ease of ripping my CD collection to the player. Basically I want the convienience of all my CDs on one HD. I am looking at ripping the tracks easily, MP3 and a few Waves, at the bitrate I want, organized with all the data necessary to facilitate easy managment and playback in player. I am going to be using the player mostly at home plugged into my stereo.
User friendly GUI, organizational playback options, custom playlists.
I am also thinking about line in recording too but haven't commited to that option.
I was looking at the Vision: M but I don't really need a video player so much.
Anyhow, any suggestions?

I suggest an Ipod.
One look at this site should tell you that. I have had NOTHING but problems with my computer recognizing the Zen NANO Plus. Works on some computers (especially those with WINXP Pro), but have yet got a connection on either computer running WINXP Home. There is NO correct support on this issue, and have tried every option posted.
Once you get it recognized, if you upload the firmware, there are other issues to contend with.
Then if you get past that, there is the new battery shutting off the unit. Get past that, and there are capacity issues because of FAT allocations.
Trust me...buying a CREATIVE MP3 player was the biggest purchase mistake I ever made...thank God, it was dirt cheap...now I know why.
Yet, the WORST OF THE WORST is that they REALLY don't know how to resolve this all too common connectivity issue. Every other device I have, from scanners to cameras to flashreaders to WINTV output to cellphone utilities, ALL work perfect. This device is the ONLY one with a problem.

4gb of ram should be sufficient and I doubt I would ever upgrade to 8gb.

How can I make an mp3 play automatically in one Scene (NO buttons)? I have been searching the net for answers for over 10 hours with no answer... My movie will not be for the web, it needs to be portable (CD or flash drive)...

You just need to look in Help for the Sound class and possibly SoundChannel... if you have an MP3 in your library - right click it, and go to properties. Set the sound to export for ActionScript - and give it a class name - mySound will work. Then you can make it play with something as simple as:
var a:SoundChannel = new mySound().play();

Deciding between two creative mp3 play

i am having a hard time choosing which mp3 player to purchase.
in your opinion which would be a better buy,
creative zen nano plus (GB) or creative zen micro (4GB) ?

As per the FAQ, we can't really help you decide what player. You need to look at what features you want.
The Nano and the Micro for example work in quite different ways, as the Nano uses a folder/file system to organise the audio files, and the Micro uses the audio file tag data.

If you want good, high quality, don't get the MicroPhoto. It's a wonderful player, but the OLED isn't the greatest. To be honest, the best player for picture viewing is *shudder* the iPod Nano or Video.

Help me choose a 865PE board

Hi,
I need some help in choosing the best(most feature packed, fast etc.) MSI 865PE motherboard.
There are two boards that are pretty identical and trying to find the difference between them has been difficult. They are the Neo2-FIS2R and Neo2-PFISR.
Which one of these two should I buy? They cost about the same. What are the major differences between them?
Please help me in choosing.

Great, I did see this link earlier but I'm confused by several things and please excuse my ignorance but I have been out of the Hardware scene for 4-5 months which is a long time in hight tech.
First thing on this table that I see on the P version is "P4EE Support" what is this? and why does the first table not support it?
On the first table it had a column "PCB Ver." what is this and where can it be found on my computer or Mobo?
So from looking at this link then I can safely say that I can buy a prescott CPU and it will run fine on my neo2 FIS2R?

I do find these two tables very confusing and there is little explanation, To me the first table is saying that all the boards only support P4's and not prescott? the second table is saying that only the Extreme Edition supports prescott?
but the second table also lists the FIS2R etc so its all very confusing????

Need help with choosing a 6 cell and 9 cell battery (mo06, mo09)

Hey hi all,
I have a pavilion m6 series notebook which comes with mo06(6 cell) battery by default.
I need to replace the battery with a new one and I've come across a mo09 (9 cell) battery with the same price as that of mo06.
I've no idea if mo09 batteries can be used instead of mo06.

Need help with choosing a PSU

hey guys,
i need some help with choosing a right PSU for my gaming rig. i plan on doing some overclocking for the first time, and from what i understand the regular no name PSU that came with my case just won't be enough. so here is what i'm currently looking at:

Help With Choosing The Technology

Hello,
I need help in choosing the appropriate technology for the application that I'm going to be creating.
The characteristics of the system that have been decided until now:
Standalone app built on either Flex/Flash/AIR
Restricted to using the system on a single computer, hence can be a tightly coupled system
The server component of the system needs to be closed source and robust, for which im thinking something like a Java backend,etc,etc.
In a completely new environment, all that i need to be able to do is install just the AIR application and not worry about installing extra stuff for the server support.

If you are saying you want the server component to be on the same machine as the Flex app, then your choices are severely limited due to the sandbox, unless of course you are using AIR, then you can just use the SQLite database.
But if there will be a sevrer component on another machine on the web, you could use BlazeDS, and like I said, its free and very robust.

And yet the link you posted only tells you how to do it on the Facebook App for Android. Nothing about the Facebook page is mentioned at all, or how to do it on an iPhone.
With that said, and assuming you have the most up to date version of the Facebook App, you can now turn the auto play feature Off within the Facebook App itself. Tap on the "More" icon on the bottom right, then scroll down to Settings->Videos and Photos->Auto Play. If Smart auto-Play is on turn it off. Then you can set the check mark on "Never Play Videos Automatically" which is the same as Off.

The player doesn't play .avi media file, or plays sound only, but it works fine when palying .mpg files, anything I need to pay attention to when using the following code to generate a player to play video clips?

thanks for your quick reply to my java.sun.com forum posting! i just got back from vacation, so i didn't get a chance to try your method til now. i pulled your email address off the website to update you on my problem playing an avi file in JMStudio (JMF).
as per your instructions, i downloaded the divx player at www.divx.com and tried to play the avi file. this is the error the divx player gives:
Divx Player 2.1
The file contains unknown video data
The file contains the following type of data:
Video data: FOURCC code "MP42"
You may need to install a new video codec on your computer to watch this video
Some quick questions:
1. Where could I find the "MP42" codec to play my avi file in JMStudio (JMF)? Does java.sun.com have video codecs?
2. You mentioned in your posting "If you don't have the one that was used in the encoding, your out of luck." Does this mean that I need to know how the avi file was originally coded and have the original codec to decode (play) it?

sounds to me like you are missing a video codecs. If you don't have the one that was used in the encoding, your out of luck. Download the player from divx.com, it will tell you which codecs the video needs (if it won't play). You can then search the net for that particular codecs.

Mp3s play in iTunes and on iPod mini but not on iPod classic

Some of the mp3s in my iTunes library will not play on my new 160G iPod classic. I paid for and downloaded the mp3s from the internet (not p2p), most of wich are CBR (192Kbps), but the occasional album is VBR. All of the mp3s play fine in windows media player, iTunes and on my old iPod mini. When I go to play them on my iPod classic, the tracks just skip. It seems strange that the files play on an older model of ipod.
I have searched though these forums, and have seen people having similar trouble, but have yet to come across a solution.

Yes, I have this problem as well. I have synced and re-synced an entire library three times now (which is not easy when you have almost 10k tracks to upload) and the same issue occurs on some tracks, but not others. I can't really see a commonality amongst the files to figure out why the ipod won't play the songs. They play fine on Itunes and when the unit itself is hooked up to my computer, but not if you are just listening to it from the Ipod. Strange...hope somebody can answer this question soon...the problem is really irritating.

The format from the phone is :
h.264 encoded video, AAC audio. Both standards of MPEG 4.
You need Windows Media Player version 12 or above to play MP4 (or add the codecs to your current version).

MP3 playing in Darwin Server

Hi,
I am trying to get MP3 playing in Darwin Server. I added a playlist using Darwin administrator page. When I play the playlist, a MP3Broadcaster.exe diaglog box pops out, saying "MP3Broadcaster.exe has encountered a problem and needs to be close." I am using Windows XP and the MP3 is not hinted in the playlist. Any idea on how to fix it? Thanks
