I have just installed iPhoto 11 and all of photos on my iphone have now all disappeared and ended up in my photo stream and the library in iphoto does not display all my pictures?? Can anyone help?

And I cant work out why all of my pictures are not diplaying in iphoto?
Is this iPhoto on your Mac?  Are you referring to the photos that were in your iPhoto LIbrary prior to the upgrade to iPhoto 11?  If so then apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If that's not what you're referring to then you should describe what is happening in more detail. Remember we can't see your Mac or your iPhone so need detailed and accurate descriptions of what you're experiencing.
Also we need infomartion like do you have an iCloud account and are you logged into it on all of your devices, iPhoto and Mac? do you have Photo Stream enabled on both.

  • How to get deleted photos back in the trash can?

I tried to dele all the photos I've deleted from iPhoto by cmd+delete all the photos in the iPhoto trash can, but that only made all the photos reappear in iPhoto.
How do I get the deleted photos back in the trash can?
I discovered this the next time I turned on my mac, so I couldn't just "go back".
I really don't wanna go trough ALL of my pictures and delete the thousands of pictures I've deleted over the past three years..
I now know how to delete dem properly, but not how to get them all back in the trash can. Please help me!
    Ida

There's no way to do that. If you try and trash thousands of photos at one go you'll trash the Library - which is what sounds like you've done.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • HT4236 how do i delete photo's in my library on my ipad?  i imported them from my itouch.

How do i delete photo's in my library on my ipad?  Delete shows up in red and will not let me select it.  I imported the photos to my computer then to my ipad via itunes.

    How?
I am travelling for 5 weeks from hotel to hotel relying on wifi for internet access for my iPad.
There are no computers to use to access iTunes.
I bought a wifi hard disk as a back up for the multitude of photos I have taken both by the iPad and my camera.
So the idea is to load from the SD card to the iPad, transfer to the HDD and/Dropbox and then delete from iPad, leaving the original copy on the SD card and a back on either or both the HDD and Dropbox.
I can backup and delete photos from the camera role.
I can import the photos from the cameras SD card using the apple dongle to my iPad but these do not become part of the camera roll.
I can then back up to either or both the wifi hard disk or Dropbox
BUT, once I have backed them up I can not remove them from the iPad.
The result is that the iPad got fuller and fuller, I had to delete all my music, all the videos I had loaded to watch when there was no English TV until my iPad got too full so for the last couple of weeks there has been no backups at all except for camera roll to dropbox.

  • Delete photos taken on the same day

    Hi.
I have hundreds of photos taken on the same day each. How to delete photos taken on the same day?
Or I would have to ask like this, how to select all photos that were taken on the same day?

In your iPhoto '11 on your Mac?
    Search your photos by date:
Select the Photos View, and click the looking glass icon in h search field in the lower left corner.
    Select "Date"
Enter the date in the mini calendar that will pop up.
Now select all photos and press the delete key.
On your IOS-device use the "moments" view of the Camera Roll to find the photos taken on the same day.

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad. A list of all iPhoto '11 shortcuts is here:
Apple - Support - iPhoto - Keyboard Shortcuts
I don't know of any keyboard shortcut to jump to the last photo, but if you option click the end of the scrollbar in the film strip you will jump to the last photo in the film strip.

  • Can you help me delete photo library & duplicate photo library

    Hi,
I don't know what I did, but I somehow copied 44 of my daughter's music images into my photo library and then created a duplicate with 43 images.  These 87 images are taking up room and there is no obvious way to delete them.
Here's what happens when I touch camera roll it brings me to the photo library -- where 43 out of 44 images are hers:
I click edit and the only options are share via email, faceboook, twitter, etc. or add to which leads to create a new album.  I don't want to do any of this.  I just want to delete them to make room.
The same options apply for the Duplicate album as well.
Can you help me delete the photo library and the duplicate library on my phone?  I only want to keep one video in the camera roll and all of the rest of the images can go.
    Thanks!

Thanks for your response.  I think you just isolated my issue -- I was trying to upload music and somehow wound up syncing my daughter's photos to my iphone.  I don't know how to delete them because not all of the album/folders are appearing there.  Do you have any suggestions on how to find them?

  • How to delete photos in disabled iCloud library

I asked few days ago in the iCloud forum help with photos reappearing in the iCloud Photos app and unable to reduce the size of my library. (post HT204410) So far no suggestions and today I tried to start from scratch and delete all. However I ran into other issues and hope this Photos forum can provide solutions:
    1) I disabled the iCloud Photos Library option on iPhone, iPad and iMac. There were >3000 photos and videos in the library
    2) Using iCloud via Safari webbrowser there is a message displayed that iCloud Photo Library has been disabled and that I have 30 days to download my pictures.
    3) I do have copies and just want to delete all in the iCloud Photo Library using the Safari browser.  However when I select photos the option to delete is greyed out?  (see picture below)
Question 1: Is there any way I can fully delete the iCloud Photo Library faster?
    4) I created a new Photos system library (using the <option> key at start up) and in the Photos preference made this the new system library.
    5) When I connect my iMac again to the iCloud Photo Library with this empty library it download all the photos I also can see in the browser.
    6) Both in the webbrowser and on the iMac the message that the iCloud Photos library is disabled remains even after connecting them again. It shows in red in the system preference panel for iCloud (with the library ticked on? - picture below)) and in the preferences with the Photos app on the iMac (Yosemite 10.10.3) , but with different number of days remaining (29 vs 30)?). I can not find the option to cancel this deletion from the iCloud preferences.
Question 2: Anyone able to advise were to find this cancellation option?
    6) When I delete pictures on the iMac in the Photos app these are not synced with the iCloud Photos Library, at least in the browser no updates are happening ( and also still cannot delete any of the pictures...
Conclusion: I have not been able to rectify the problem, but have made it worse with a disabled iCloud Photos Library that populates a new library created on the iMac, but does not respond to changes.
Anyone who can help much appreciated.
    Thanks, Henk

If you mean Photo Stream, just go to icloud.com, log in, click on your name in the upper right, click on advanced, and then choose reset Photo Stream.  That removes all photos stored there.

  • I can't delete photos in my iphoto library

I just recently bought my laptop a couple days ago and uploaded around 40 photos. I wanted to move some to trash, but they will not go to the trash. Someone please help me

I have this problem as well.

(I hope there's no private info hidden in there)  This is reproducible.
    I have tried:
    - delete iPhoto cache and preferences (from Library) and restart
    - undelete all photos resident in the trash bin and try to delete a single photo at a time; have tried a number of different photos
    - every option for rebuilding presented when iPhoto is run using Opt-Cmd held down when it starts (started at the top of the list and moved down)
    - it seems to be able to delete for a virgin library (using a different account, I created a new library and put a single photo in it and was able to delete it)
    - rebuild system permissions (Disk Utility)
What else is there to try?  I'd love to fix this.  I have many, many photos that I'd like to delete (give a 7 year-old a camera and some stuffed animals and it adds up quickly....)
EDIT: I've tried deleting using ctrl-click on photo -> move to trash and backspace, both one photo at a time and in groups;  the photos simply do not move to the trash bin; when there were photos in the trash (before I moved them all out) the trash would not empty
EDIT2: To be clear, I am deleting photos from the 'Photos' listing.

  • Corrupted Directory leaving photos locked in the Library

When transferring Photos from from my camera, the camera battery collapsed and the transfer corrupted the library. The file is still some 20GBytes so there must be something there but iPhoto comes up with a bank screen.
Can anybody help reconnect me with my photos

Try Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and point it at the Library. If iPhoto sees a valid library there it will open it.
    If that fails:
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
