i cant find my ipod i searched my dads house for six hours and cant find it can u help me find it
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- You can also from another device use an app that will cause the iPod to make a Notification sound.

No app on the iOS device is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod/iPhone/iPad on the iOS device in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected or cellular data is on and connected for, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or continue to show off-line.
- You can also wipe/erase the iOS device and have the device play a sound via iCloud.

- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the device and report to police and carrier if iPhone or cellular iPad
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the erase (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 or later on the device. With iOS 7 or later, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

i lost my ipod touch in my friend's dad's car or in my room.. i looked everywhere in my room.. nd my friend say her dat looked in the car and didnt see it, bt i dont kno how thoroughly he looked but i kno its either in his car or in my room, because the last place i had was in his car. I have the app Text Me on my ipod can that in any way help me find my ipod because, the wifi on my ipod is turned off, and i dont have other apps or anything to help me find it.. please help because my mom bought me that for christmas and its was very expensive.
With wifi off all you can do is look for it like a lost glove. Sorry.

Police don't "track down" lost items, per se. They'll keep your information on file in the event that someone finds your iPod and turns it in. Otherwise, there's nothing the police can or will do in regards to finding lost property.
Sorry, but your iPod is most likely gone for good.

The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."

If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries. -
I was at school today and I left my iPod on a stand and went outside for 5 minutes then came back, ITS GONE! I suspected this guy becasue he was smirking. My friend asked him and he said "MAYYYBEE" and started smirking. So my two other friends asked him later and he kept laughing he said if he did have it he would give it to someone else. My friend asked who and he wouldn't tell, he kept smirking. So I tracked it down on Find my iPod. Someone out of 5 guys has it, as they were sitting where it was located but class ended and everyone left. I went home and tracked it again and it was offline. I have the serial number though. If you did not have iCloud on your iPod with Find My iPhone turned on, then there is no way to track it.
You will have to just do it the old-fashioned way and look for it....

- If you previously turned on the FIndMyiPod feature and location service is on, and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud, sign in, and go to FindMyiPhone. It the iPod has been restored it will never show up.

If you set up Find My iPhone on your iPod, go to www.icloud.com. It will allow you to send a command to your iPod which will play a tone for at least a minute to help you find the iPod. If not, perhaps you set up Skype or Facetime or iMessage. In that case try calling or texting your iPod, you should get a ringtone. In all these cases make sure your wi-fi router is on. Also this will not work if you turned off the wi-ifi on your iPod or if you turned it off completely.

There is nothing anyone can do to help you if the battery is dead on your device. Find My iPod only works when the device is on and connected to cellular or Wifi.
If you have misplaced it and are looking for it, you will just have to keep looking.

There is little chance of recovering your iPod. The police will do little. It it is turned then they can contact you.
