last time my iPhone was stolen I didn't have my imei number written down and apple wouldn't help me find phone so I lost a lot. When someone has the pass lock activated Apple should have the pass lock used to power off iPhone. That way if someone steals the device they can't power it off and lose find my iPhone ability. Please Apple fix this issue, I think it would maybe deter people from stealing them and being able to sell them.

First, you are not addressing Apple. This is a user to user forum. You might be amazed to discover that you are not the first person to think of this. There are several thousand posts about it already. And there are several reasons why this is a bad idea:
Yes, they can't power off to defeat Find my iPhone, but they can defeat it many other ways:
Put it in Airplane Mode from the Control Center (which is enabled even when the phone is locked)
Remove the SIM
Wrap it in aluminum foil
Drop it in a shoplifter's shopping bag lined with metal mesh
Restore the phone using iTunes
Run the battery down
If your phone ever needs to be restored because you forgot the passcode, the FIRST STEP is to turn the phone off. But you've forgotten the passcode. So how are you going to do that?
The phone will have to be turned on at some time if the thief or the one who buys it ever wants to use it. Find my iPhone will locate it then.
Activation Lock is already a powerful deterrent to stealing an iPhone. Because it is locked to the rightful owner, neither the thief nor anyone they sell it to can ever use the phone. There is no workaround for this, despite almost 2 years of trying by hackers.
The rightful owner can display a message on the phone saying it is stolen, with contact information. This will be displayed as soon as the phone connects to WiFi or cellular data. As anyone who buys a phone will want to verify that it works, this is also a powerful deterrent.
It might encourage you to go and confront the thief if it can be tracked, thus risking your life in addition to losing your phone. Thieves are generally not nice people, and they don't always live in nice neighborhoods.

After much trial and error, I have finally unlocked the mystery of how to remove Audiobook files from the iphone without changing the file name or type. Here are the steps:
1. Plug in your iPhone to your computer
2. Launch iTunes
3. Click on the left-hand menu option that says "books"
4. All the audiobooks (such as iTunes or Audible) will be here with cover art for each one. If you right click on these titles, you will have the option to "Uncheck Selection" or "Check Selection" depending on whether or not it is on your iPhone.
5. If you want to remove an audiobook from your iPhone, simply right click and select "Uncheck Selection"
6. Sync your iPhone
7. If you are still having problems, you have probably changed your sync options for music. Change them so that you are only syncing selected items(there are 2 different places to control these options, the "Summary" tab(which should have the "Option" "select songs and videos..." checkbox checked) and the "Music" tab(which should have the "selected playlists, artists,..." checkbox checked).
8. Magically those pesky audio books that you know and love are no longer on your iphone
9. Write Apple a nasty email and ask why $10 million in audiobook revenue hasn't warranted a software change to make this easier to understand and do.

I don't know how many contacts you have, but if it is a reasonable # maybe you can enter all of them into icloud and have them sync to your device going forward.

You should not post your serial number and I've asked the Hosts to remove it.
You can't locate your phone if you did not enable the 'Find My Phone' app. In addition the phone would have to be on, not wiped, and able to connect to a network. The serial number will not enable you to locate your phone.

Help!! PC powered off after 30 minutes of use of newly built system :(

I just received my new pc parts yesterday. Installed it all and it ran like a champ long enough to install windows 7. Approx 30-40 minutes. As I was downloading drivers it shut completely off. I went to turn it back on and the fans would come on then go off :(. I was working great and the cpu temp in the bios read 43C so it looked good there when it was working. There are no beep codes also so I am not sure whats going on??
System Specs:
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB
CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650 V2 650W
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz
MSI P67A-G43 (B3)
Things I have tried
* Cleared the Cmos from the back of the motherboard. It now turns on with fans running one LED light but no video
* Removing both ram sticks (2x 4gb) and putting each one in seperately
* Switched out video cards and even moved it to the other pci express slot
* Took heat sync off and took cpu out and put it back in to ensure it was seated correctly.
I don't have another power supply or motherboard to test with. Since there are no beep codes I am beginning to think that either the motherboard went out or maybe the power supply?
Anybody have any ideas as to what maybe happening. I greatly appreciate it!!

I had the same problem when I upgraded. In my case it definitely was the power supply. In my effort to figure out the problem by swapping components in and out, the dieing power supply killed 2 P8P67 Pro and 2 2500k, and when I tested with the P67A-GD65, the power supply totally died, but the good thing is that the GD65 survived. Swapped in a 430W to test and everything was perfect. At full load with GTX260, it will draw less than 300W, so your power supply is fine to test.

Need help to find protective case for iPhone 3G

I am looking for a protective case (preferably black one) for my new iPhone 3G that can protect the screen from scratches (without bubbles and fairly easy to install), protects the remainder from scratches, and allows access to all its buttons.
The Apple store seems to be out of many of them and it is difficult to tell on the online Apple store which one is actually going to work.

A friend of mine has an otterbox for his Touch. It it bullet-proof. They have one for the 1st gen iPhone, but not yet for the 3G. It should be out any second now. It is very high quality. I am waiting for that. I need something that I can strap to my arm or Camelbak strap and survive if I crash or it rains. That will. There are reviews on amazon. I am having the same problem. Itunes reports that it's uploaded all the music etc.
When I turn the match function on, it says "you are not currently subscribed to itunes match".
I have restarted the phone and coputer, logged in & out several times to no avail.

Do you have a case on your iPhone? It could be pressing the buttons on the iPhone and causing it to restart or behave unusually.

IMEI number is no use.
If you can't track it using find my phone.
Then report the lost to the local authority and your phone carrier.
change your passwords.

Selecting "Play a Sound" works regardless of the position of the mute switch. The phone being offline is different. With no network to connect to (either WiFi or Cellular), find my phone will not work. So, if your phone battery is depleted, you will not be able to use find my phone.

Iphone stuck while powering off! HELP!

I was shutting down my iphone about 45 minutes ago. I got to the slide to power off screen. Did that. But it is stuck with the swirl going in the middle of the phone. It neve powered off, and it won't do anything else...can someone please tell me how to fix my phone??

Try holding the top button. If this doesn't work try holding the home and the top button at the same time.
