Your syntax is wrong - look at the post above where this syntax is given:
to_char (add_months(r.formdate,12), 'MM/DD/YYYY') "formdate2"Look at the formula from a logical perspective - "inside out" to read what is happening -
    take formdate, add 12 months
add_months(r.formdate, 12)then apply the to_char format mask - basic syntax
    to_char(date, 'MM/DD/YYYY')Compare to your syntax:
to_char(add_months(r.formdate, 'MM/DD/YYYY'),12) "formdate2"You will see your format string inside the call to add_months, and your 12 inside the call to to_char.
    Good luck!

  • Please help on Format Mask...

    Hi everyone,
I have few question regarding to Format Mask:
    1) I know that if u key-in the invalid format
    (ie: format: dd-mm-yyyy and I key-in 35/21/2001_
Oracle will display the error message at the Status bar of the
Form, can I make this error message to displayed as a popup
msg (like alert) automatically? Or I need to do a checking on
the error code in ON-ERROR trigger than SHOW_ALERT()?
    2) How to make a Format Mask that will format this:
    60312345678 format to (603)1234-5678
    6031234567 format to (603)1234-567
I tried this format mask "("999")"999"-"999, it worked for the
first one but the second one it came out as below:
    6031234567 formated to (60)3123-4567
Is there a way to overcome this?
    Thank You
    Regards
    Wai Chong

1.I ussually use on-error trigger at form level and check for
the error code and use show_alert built in accordingly.
2.Have you tried adding, if I am not mistaken, FM (fill) mode.
It will theoretically accept anything that you type. You can
look on the builder help on format mask topic. Or have you
tried adding the space after the region code. This is pure
speculation but you might want to try.
    Hope it help.

    Get Info String:

    Alot of information...
First observation, is that your internal hard disk has too much on it - on an
80gb internal hard disk, you want to keep 10% available for system usage,
which would be 8gb vs the 3 and change gb available shown in your
    posted information above.
See if I got this right...you have an external powered enclosure with a WD
250gb ultra ata hard drive that has worked before on your PB. Snap,
crackle, pop, power goes, and the HD is corrupted. Your PowerBook,
however, still recognizes the external HD as a device, right? You tried
hooking into a Windows-based system, and couldn't access anything.
Assuming your PB recognizes it as a hard drive, have you brought up the
Apple disk utility and tried to repair the drive (select external hard drive
on left side of disk utility, then first aid tab, repair disk)? Results?

  • Need help in formatting a number field with same precision for excel output

I am trying to get the same preciision for a field in RTF template when the output is in EXCEL
i.e. same number of digits after decimal. So, I would like to show 150 as 150.00 and 123.2 as 123.20 etc !! Is there a way to do it. the Built in formatting will not display 150.00 for 150 . but if i add $ symbol it will display. But i dont need $ syambol. please help.

I found this on one of the forum questions.
Excel dont preserve the trailing zeros.
try opening the xcel and type 5.0000 and tab out, it wont preserve the trailing zeros after decimal.
try finding out how to disable the option in excel. if you do that, you will see what you send out from the report.
But you can try to convert the number into a text by trying to append a space at the beginning. See if that would work.
    Thanks

  • Need help in formating a form dealing with negative currency

    Need Help!!!
Creating forms in Adobe acrobat Pro I could format a number cell to calculate additions/subtractions of currency. If the result was negative I could get the cell to show the negative result in red text and show parentheses around them. How can I do that in LiveCycle?
If i have to use formcalc - what would i type in?

In LiveCycle can be done using the Numeric Field object and some formcalc script.
Use the "Numeric Field" from the Object Library. For the Field patterns (Select the placed numeric field, On object Window Object -> Field) use "num.currency{}" to show the currency(Ex: $) and "parentheses" if its negative. Write some script to show red text/border in red .
On exit event of the Numeric Field here is the script:
if($.rawValue <0) then $.font.fill.color.value = "255,0,0" endif  // This will make entire text in red color if the value is negative.
if($.rawValue <0) then $.validate.nullTest = "error" endif      //This will make border of the field in red color if the value is negative.
    Hope this helps.

  • Help with formatting parameters in html output?

    Hi --
I would like to use a style sheet to adjust the way that javadoc displays lists of parameters below each method. In the HTML output, the code around the parameter name and description looks like this:
<dd><code>filterContainers</code> - True if the containers within the database
are to be considered individually during task assignment; false if the entire database is to be assigned as a single task.
    </dd>
I apologize if this is basic CSS question, but I don't understand how to change the way 'filterContainers' is formatted -- maybe make it italic or something. I was also hoping to increase the padding below each parameter name/description because they seem to squished together.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Jen

Add this to stylesheet.css to make "filterContainers" italic:
    dl dd dl dd code {
    font-style: italic;
}This adds space below lines inside dd
    dl dd dl dd {
    padding-bottom: 3px;
}(You could change it to padding-top to add the space above instead.)
The sequence "dl dd dl dd code" is the nested hierarchy of HTML tags relative to body.
Here are the CSS elements defined above: (CSS 2.0)

  • I need help in formating in Pages

I need formating help in Pages: I need two columns for text, but other text not in the columns. How do I do both?

    Hi Mandy,
I'm not sure if I've understood what you want to do, but here's an example, based on what you've said. These instructions apply to a word processing document.
The Columns control button toward the right end of the format bar is used to set the number of columns. It's the dark one (indicating it's been selected) just above the top left corner of its menu in the image:
The 'other' text (I've called it 'extra text' in the image) can be placed in a text box. Click the T in the toolbar to insert a text box, resize to fit your 'other' text, and position as desired.
One recommendation I'd make to everyone learning to use Pages is to download and read through the first few chapters of the Pages '09 User Guide. Then check in the other chapters when you want to learn how to use specific features of Pags.
You'l find a download link in the Help menu in Pages.

  • Need help with formating in a dashboard prompt

    Hi
This should be an easy one. I'm creating some dashboard prompts and been looking on the Sample OBIEE and some prompts there. Well, what I would like to do is a prompt so simple as:
    Prompt Label:
    - alt1
    - alt2
    - alt3
    - and so on ...
Have you seen what I've done? I want the Label of the prompt to be bold but the data inside, the alternatives should be normal.
What I do is that go to the Dashboard prompt, create it and so on and on the lower part of the Dashboard prompt edit pane "Display" I click on the pencil ... "Edit" ... go to "Format" and in there I choose "Style: Bold" ... the thing is that both Label and Alternatives turn Bold for me ...
    What am I doing wrong?

    Hi,
If you are using 11g then keep the prompt in a section and you can add section title and you can format it accordingly. But keep the name in the label as a BLANK.
And if you are using 10g then by default the name in the label for the prompts becomes BOLD but the values would be normal.
Award points if found useful/helpful to you.
    Regards
    MuRam

  • Help with formatting fields in PDF...

    Hi -
I´m working on a form that should be filled in from the internet...
The design I did i InDesign - and the formfields I did i Acrobat Pro -
and finally I´m finetuning everything in LiveCycle...
    I've runned into two problems...
I need the date field to correct itself -
if the user choice to use the wrong format...
    for example -
    we want to have YYYY-MM-DD
and if the user writes DD MM YY -
it should be accepted and corrected....
is this possible - maybe with JAVA-script?
Also - In Sweden anyway we always write the Social Security number in this way
    YYMMDD-NNNN ( N = Numbers between 0-9 )
How can I get the field to recognize and to crave - "demand" this format...
I´ll hope my Swinglish can be understandable?
    IdéSpiran

I suggest that you make use of the Validation patterns for this. On the Object palette there is a Value tab and on that tab is a button for Validation Pattern. You can create a pattern in 4 areas - Display - what the user sees on teh screen, Edit - what the user enters in the field, Validation - what the value entered will be validated against and Data - what is stored in the data file. You will be interested in the Display pattern. Depending on the type of field you will see different data patterns ( i.e. Date fields show date patterns and TextFields have phone numbers, zip codes etc..). You can also create a custom pattern. Have a look in the docs about patterns and you will see what each of the chars represents and how to create one. For your SSN you will probably need javascript because of the combination of Date and number formats.
    Hope that helps
    Paul

  • I need help to format my laptop

I am Brazilian and do not speak well in inbles, please forgive me first of all. I want to ask for help at all, I'm having trouble formatting my Toshiba laptop I bought with windos 8, I want to downgrade to windows 7. Cant work the DVD system.
    photo:
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Once you change the bios your hard drive will show up to install windows 7, sometimes the bios will need to be updated before the CSM option will appear.
    INSTRUCTIONS:
First - Burn recovery media before you make any changes! -you may want or need to go back to windows 8 later-
    Second -
Important Bios changes when changing from Windows 8 to Windows 7:
Completely shut down laptop (Shut down Windows 8 while pressing the Shift key to completely power off.) then restart computer and hold f2 when the screen goes black and wait for the bios setup utility to launch.
Select advanced, then system configuration, then boot mode
UEFI and CSM or legacy  (UEFI for Windows 8 and CSM or legacy for windows 7)
For windows 7 change to CSM or Legacy mode.
Third -  Also in bios setup utility select - Security, then Secure Boot, then you have to disable secure boot for windows 7.
You will need to delete all partitions before installing windows 7 this is done forth step.
Forth - Insert your windows 7 disc and select custom install, your partitions should show up - click on each one and below you will see advanced drive options, click that and you will have options to format - format each one, then delete each one. You will be left with one raw partition, select to install and windows will do the rest while installing the operating system.
    Fifth - install drivers
    Installation order is important:
Install chipset driver then video driver before other drivers. Then install Toshiba Value added package before other applications
Your support page is here - http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=1200007943
These windows 7 64 bit drivers may work for Satelite C55-A5105 - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU&selCategory=2&selFamily=2&selS...

  • Seek help to format spool file from SQL*PLUS

I am running a Unix shell script to call a Oracle 11g SQL script from a Oracle database. In this SQL script, I need to connect to many different remote databases to select data, then sool these records as one big text file to a directory. Then email the file to related Group users. In the spool file, there is a line on the top of each page like this:
    DUMMY
    DB_NAME
I know this is caused by connect to remote database in SQL*PLUS. My connection string is like this:
    Conn system/password@Oracle_SID
How can I remove these lines or how to skip these lines into spool file? Please advise. Thanks in advnce. Wish all of you Happy New Year!!!

    Hi,
It sounds like you have some kind of formatting (such as SQL*Plus TTITLE) producing the output you don't want. If that's the case, temporarily stopping the spooling might not help you. Find out what is causing the output that you don't want. You say that you know it is caused by the CONNECT statements, but it must be more than that. I've written scripts with CONNECT statements that don't have anything like what you reported at the top of each page; in fact, they don't even have pages: the output is one continuous stream. Find out what's putting the unwanted output there, and that will be a big clue as to how you can stop it.
You say that you know the unwanted titles are there because of the CONNECT statements. If so, use database links instead of CONNECT. You don't have to use dbms_scheduler or utl_file; just eliminate the CONNECT statements. (I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with dbms_scheduler or utl_file; you should definitely investigate those tools. I'm just saying that using database links is independent of them.)
What would happen if you did all your connecting to different databases at the OS level? Can you write a shell script that connects to each database in turn, and runs a SQL*Plus script in each one. Each SQL*Plus script would have a SPOOL or SPOOL ... APPEND command, or maybe you could build the SPOOL into a LOGIN.SQL script.

  • Noob help to format date to insert into mysql

Sorry, if this question has been asked before, I did di a search but could not find an answer that I could understand.  I am pretty new to DW and my coding skills are not good so please go easy on me.
I have a simple form to insert records to a mysql database.  I have created a form validarion behaviour to require the fields that are set as not-NULL in the database.  How do I modify the code to allow the date format to be entered in the dob field in the form as DD/MM/YYYY but inserted correctly in the database as YYYY/MM/DD?
Finally, how would I then modify it further to default to todays date?

I was hoping for a more simple solution than a JQuery date picker, I have read this threat where the SQL queries is aletered:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/450108
Which I tried but could not make work.
I haven't tried DATE_FORMAT but the example implies that it would work when SELECTING the date from the database to output to a page in a more conventional FORMAT. However you want to INSERT the date using the correct format.

but I don't know how to use this in my code that already has form validation?
That thread is implying that you would need to convert the date inserted into the form field before it is inserted into the database in the correct format.......so you may as well use a datepicker.
Problem with letting anyone insert a date manually is that a date can be written in many formats which are NOT acceptable by the database. A datepicker overcomes all of these issues. Getting the date back out of the database is a case of simply converting via php into a format which is applicable to your country or your usage OR using the method in the first thread you provided.
Lets see if anyone else can offer a more simple solution for you.
