Help me get back lost referenced files

I have somehow lost my raw files (.dng format) so the thumbnails are showing as not connected. Since I shoot in raw + jpg I still have the jpg files. I should have had a backup but don't for these 40 or so files. Time machine can't seem to find them either. Is there a way to import these into Aperture 3 as referneced files? Or, better yet, a way to save these as a new raw or dng version that can be imported?

You're right you could only reconnect to the original files. You'll have to import the JPG's and use those going forward.
As for importing them as referenced masters, in all import windows there is a pulldown labeled *Store Files* this is where you setup the imports as referenced masters.

The default is to store the images in the Aperture library, this would give you *managed masters*.
The other options all create *referenced masters*. You can leave the images where they are or relocate them to a directory of your choice. If you chose this last option you are also given the choice of moving the files or copying them to their new location. Also you'll be able to create the directory structure you want to store the images into.

Hi, I quitted Safari and press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons silmutaneously unti the Ipad turn off and on with the logo Apple appears but it has hanged on and fixed to the point. I do it again hold the Home and Sleep buttons silmutaneously and the Ipad turn off and on again with the Apple logo but it still is hanged on the same point. I think my Ipad is fault now. I guess I must connect it to the computer with itune, or something. First thing is cease all activity on the computer and usb
drive that the files were on that your trying to recover. Next use
a friends PC or get access to the internet and obtain a file
recovery program such as LSoft they have a nice program called
Active@ File Recovery Professional that even recovers a lost
partition and formatted hard drives and usb thumb drives.
The key is to cease any more activity from the time of
discovery of the lost file to have the best chances at recovering,
overwritten, lost and acidentally deleted files. I have used it
recover a relatives overwritten photos from a digital camera only
two photos out of 47 were not recovered and this was probably
because of the computer being used three days even after he
overwrote the photos with similar file names within the same
directory.
I recommend the Professional version for the price to others
that are out there and because this version recovers lost
partitions.

You can't. iSync has been discontinued since Mac OS 10.7 Lion. iSync has no connection with iCloud anyway.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

All of a sudden "bloop", it was gone. When I try to go into file, then revert, revert is not highlighted. I tried pulling up history and it said there was no history. to save the whole document. I did however save it about 1/2 way through,

How do I get backed up Aperture files into my new iMac correctly?

Here's the deal. My 4 year old iMac HD failed. My the Time Machine backup software in the Time Capsule was somehow corrupted so I could't just restore or Migrate the files to my new iMac. I was able to retrieve the actual "Pictures" folder from my TC. Temporarily I have placed them in a folder on my new iMac's desk top. I reloaded Aperture 3 and am now wanting to be able to populate Aperture as it was before with my photos with photos that have been post processed showing all of those changes...etc. Is it as simple as moving all of these files to the new iMac's "Pictures" folder in my User? I don't want to mess this up!

Hello Greg,
that looks like you imported some of your masters as referenced. You best put those folders in exactly the similar position inside the Pictures folder as you originally had them on your old drive.
Then use Aperture to consolidate them into your new library.
First you need to reconnect them to the versions:
That is best done by creating a smart album that contains all images that need reconnecting: Define a smart album with the rule: File status is offline (or missing), depending on what you see.
Then select all images in that album and select "File -> Locate Referenced Files" from the menu.
You now should see a dialogue that shows the images that need reconnecting in the upper part of the window, and a file chooser in the lower part.
In the File chooser select the coorect master files corresponding to the missing files in the upper part of the window.
If you are lucky, the reconnect all button will become active and you can reconnect your masters.

I currently have a mid-2010 MBP 15" (entry level) and plan on replacing it. Do not need a graphic card as such, but I do play Second Life from time to time. I mainly need my comp to get back into DJing and do basic stuff. I am not a gamer and I do not use photoshop... The config I am looking into is:
MBAir 13", i7, 8GB RAM, 512 Flash storage.

I don't believe the "Apple MacBook Air SuperDrive" is advertised to work with anything except a MacBook Air or a Mac Mini.
According to a MacWorld article, the reason that it won't work on other models is not a hardware issue, but a Mac OS X one. I'm not sure I believe that it is just a software issue, or a "what is Apple willing to test and support?" one. At the very end of the page, someone reported seeing "Extra Operating Current (mA): 600" in a USB device tree report.
I think this drive can draw more than the standard amount of power for a USB port. The USB ports on the MacBook Air (and now on the versions of the Mini that lack internal optical drives) have probably been designed with that in mind. The USB ports on the other Macs may only be supplying standard amounts of power, which might (educated guess) be insufficient for some operations (like burning DVDs).

1. Do you mean that we lost some files when we failed in the process of transferring files by Bluetooth?
2. What do you mean about the sentence ‘usb'd to a pc’?
3. Do you use the phone to connect the Bluetooth? If so, please check if you have backed up those files.
We could check the default folder of the file transfer.
As we use the Windows 8.1, we could use the File History to restore your file in the Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos, and Desktop folders and the OneDrive files available offline on your PC.

My gf icloud was hacked. The hacker changed the password and my information of my iCloud but i still have the email address which is the iCloud username. is there anything i can do. please help.
My gf is using an Iphone 5. She was charging her phone and the notification pop up and said that the user of this phone was using find my iphone to erase this phone.
This was happen few days ago. On the iphone screen there is a pop up notification tell her to sign in her icloud. She did type in once but it say incorrect and for the next few time, she just ignored it. She told me about that and i told her to ignore it, don't type in anything.
And yesterday, on november 24, there is a pop up notification on the screen said that "your iphone and your facebook is hacked".
So i just told her to change her facebook password
Today, november 25, 2014, she was charging her phone and the notification pop up and said that the user of this phone was using find my iphone to erase this phone.
I tried to log in my icloud account but it was hopeless. Then i check here email, it said that someone had changed her information

But we did not do this.
Now i still can access to my email which is my icloud ID.
Is there anything that i could do to get back my account. Otherwise my iphone is gone which was my gift for her birthday . please help

Try contacting Apple’s Account Security team. If you or she is the iPhone’s original owner, another option is to take it and its purchase receipt to a physical Apple Store.

Opening in the side bar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.<br />
