HELP ME i just bought Ipod and it froze

I purchased my iPod about 2 hours ago and i brought it home and played a game while installing iTunes software and after the install was complete i plugged the iPod into the computer and POW it froze and i cant figure out how to fix it. the manual says to do something and then hold menu and select buttons for 6 - 10 seconds and then it should be fine but it doesnt work for me. HELP ME PLEASE

I had a similar problem. I hooked it up to the computer and it froze under language selection. I simply did as the instructions stated and held (i believe) the menu and center button until it reboots. Try this again.

Well i just bought a 30g ipod video and its not being found by itunes or the updater. updater always says cannot mount ipod. itunes just doenst find it. i have uninstalled and reinstalled the software, reseted my ipod, restarted my computer, and looked through all the thread information and its not helping. my ipod just sits at the do not disconnect screen. i went to add new hardware in control panel and found the ipod in this list, and my computer said its working properly. which leads me to believe that its a software problem and not a computer problem(as in locating the ipod). a also have tried every usb on my computer, they are all 2.0. need help please.

Wow that was really quick, thank you so much. Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it. I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names. isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)
either way, ill do what you suggested to the best of my abilities and thank you so much for answering my questions, i can't even open the program as its incompatible and find out the info from that) so I'm in a bit of a pickle and your response was so thorough and it didn't seem to be posted long enough to even write a well researched response, thanks, all the best,

Other can be files that the iPod has "lost" or can no longer recognise.
So either you bought this second hand and it had someone else's stuff on it, or you were unlucky and the first Sync of your iPod to iTunes resulted in a lot of "Other".
Conect the iPod to iTunes and on the Device/Summary pane (tab) look for and select the Restore button.

How did you buy iWork (no 's', capital 'W')?
If you downloaded the trial version earlier, and have since purchased a serial number, iWork will ask you for the number the first time you launch one of the iWork applications after the trial period ends.
If you bought a retail box, or bought the individual applications through the Mac app store, no serial number is needed, but if any part of the trial version is still installed on your computer, you'll get a request to enter a serial number before proceeding.
In the last case, you must delete all traces of iWork and it's applications (but not the documents that you have created and saved), then reinstall the purchased versions from the DVD or from the app store.
For the simplest and most efficient means of deleting the trial version, go to Yvan Koenig's iDisk, then to:
for_iWork > iWork 09 > uninstall iWork 09.zip
Unzip the file, open with Script Editor and run.

Help! I just bought QT Pro 7.0.3

Please help! I just bought the download registration number from the Apple site and put it in the preferences. It said I have have QT Pro now.
I want to export a movie to ipod which QT pro can do. The export and share features are greyed out and nothing works. Am I doing something wrong? I don't think I am.

I noticed the file I want to open says it's:
Text, Sprite, MPEG Layer 3, Sorenson Video 3.
I'm guessing that quicktime does not allow these formats to convert or export to different formats?

If the Combo installer did not work (what is the exact error message?), try to download Lion again from the AppStore, or boot into the Lion Recovery Partition:
      OS X: About OS X Recovery
You can also try, to restore the missing framework from your backup.
You need to restore this folder from the System Library:
     /Library/Frameworks/PluginManager.framework/Versions/B/PluginManager
