I was working when both the charger light and computer went off suddenly. I did the same click sound it does when holding the power button to force it to shut off. Since then its dead to the point that when I connect the charger the little orange/green light doesnt turn on nor does the computer nor does the battery meter on the side of the computer. Battery was perfectly good holding charge and it was full.

I did an appointment which I will attend to. But that's for Monday as they were pretty booked. I called the store and asked whether I could just walk in and wait for someone to miss their appointment, the lady said over the phone they would take care of walk ins too, so I took the chance. This is my working tool, without it I was off completely so I needed a solution asap, not for next week. But I soon as I walked in they come up saying they were not taking walk ins. That's what got me upset, their saying yea come over and once there Oh sorry we r not taking walk ins.
Hope I made that clear this time.
So the sim is still there, I wouldn't want to try and get it out, so for that I'll wait till Monday. Meanwhile I need to figure out what caused that to see what I do with the computer or how to avoid that from happening again.

My macbook Pro wont turn on after getting new battery

I had one of the defective batteries which eventually just died on me. I had mac send me a new one. After switching the new battery with the old one I expected my laptop to work fine. After pressing the power button a number of times the laptop eventually turned on. I would have to sit there for a few minutes but it would work. After about a day of this the laptop will no longer turn on. The power light is on and it makes the regular noises accompanied with turning on the computer and the laptop is registering the power adapter but it wont turn on. One thing of note is that it makes a strange noise for about 3-5 seconds occasionally when I turn it on. Anyone have any ideas?

Take it in for repair at a local authorized service center. Sounds like there is an issue with the power manager.

Your only chance is letting it charge for about 10min, then connecting it in recovery mode, explained here:

If it does not charge at all, you'll have to get it serviced by Apple.

Macbook Pro wont turn on - sometimes

I have mid-2009, 13 inch Macbook Pro. Recently I am noticing trouble. Once in a while when I put it to sleep by closing the lid, the light stays lit (which is suppose to go on and off indicating sleep). And when I open the lid, there is nothing on the screen and the light goes away. I close the lid, again the light lits up and stays up. So the macbook wont turn on.
Does anyone have any idea why is this? I sometimes keep the power button pressed for 5-6 seconds and force shutdown and boot again and then it works. Is it a good idea? is there any other way in these situation?
Is there something wrong in the hardware?
Please help ...

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
When you try to wake your computer when opening the lid have you tried tapping one of the keys on the keyboard to wake it?
If that does not work then try doing a SMC reset follow these instructions.
SMC RESET
It is possible you are having hardware problems with the lid sensor but let try some other steps first.

Help! My MacBook Pro has turned on me!

Hi! I was hoping you guys could help me out. I bought my beautiful Mac Book Pro the summer of 2012. It has been perfect and wonderful for quite sometime. I am a teacher and mainly use it for creating documents for school and my business. Yesterday morning I turned it on to print some Staples coupons (teacher alert!) and it was SO SLOW. The spinning beach ball of death keeps coming up and it keeps freezing (I actually have been trying to finish this sentence for like the last five minutes and it keeps freezing). I backed up all of my files this morning on an external hard drive and tried restarting the System Management Controller. A friend suggested restoring the computer to factory settings, but I am not sure if this is the best choice. I am currently taking an online math class that uses special software (Maple). This is my 10th week I have had it installed and it has not given me any problems before, but now with this freezing issue, it takes a very long time to open and because it freezes so frequently, it is almost impossible to get any work done. I also checked the activity log and everything seems to be fine. Thanks for your time!

if you haven’t already done so, restart your MacBook Pro so that it runs in normal mode again; then download and install EtreCheck. Please include in your reply the output from a run of EtreCheck.

I've updated the maverick software which required a retart. on restart my macbook pro 13" (mid 2012) keeps freezing and shutting itself down after mid way loading. if i try to turn it on again it freezes on the grey screen with apple logo loading...HELP i cant get past this!
Previous to this my mac has been running very slow for some unknown reason since i have moved to mexico.

OK... so in order to not mess that drive up any more than it already is, you need to get some things. That's going to include some tools (cheap), an external enclosure (cheap) and another hard drive (not as cheap). The tools and enclosure together will be around $20 and a 1 tb hard drive is around $80. I'll give you the exact stuff to get from Amazon if you want. Are you still game?
By the way, if you want to make it a LOT faster than what it was even new, an SSD is much faster than a hard drive. Costs more, of course. Do you know how big your existing drive is?

My Macbook PRO wont turn on!!!

My Macbook Pro went to sleep due to no battery last night. When I woke up today, I pluged in the power cord to my Laptob and It shows me that the battery is full now.
However, I'm unable to turn my Macbook Pro on. I purchased this laptob only a few weeks ago so It is not the old version. I tried to reset the SMC as well, but It does not work. I dont hear the spinning of the hard drive nor any of its fan...It looks completeley dead and I cannt turn it on. The battery light shows full battery...But it just dead.
Can any one help with that?

Personally, I would not troubleshoot a "new" computer that will not start. Especially one that is "weeks" old. You are still under warranty and I strongly suggest that you take advantage of your 90 days of FREE phone tech support from Apple. Call them asap!!

Macbook pro wont turn on but charger lighting

Last night my ceiling leaked wah nowon my macbook pro 2012 model 13" .
I immediatley followed steps people all recommend (turn it upside down, unplug it from plug, turn off, dry up, put in rice, blow dry.). I couldnt take the battery out bc I dont have the proper screw driver. I thought over 24 hours in optimum conditions would do, so I tried turning it on.
It didnt turn on. I put in the charger, it turned green. I look at the side and see 1 green light flashing (indicating I have 1 bar?).
Anyway, im really lost what do here. Is it officially broken? Should I buy screw driver and take out battery? Any idea the next steps? Im trying to stay optimistic but I have no idea about the diagnosis....I have read many forums but none I can fully relate to

Take the computer to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.
Liquid damage is not covered under Apple's standard 1 year warranty or Apple Care.
NOTE: If you are out of warranty and purchased the computer with a credit card, discuss the warranty issue with the credit card company which you purchased the computer with. They are the only ones who can at this point cover the computer after it goes out of warranty with the manufacturer (Apple).
If you have Homeowners insurance, place a claim with them.

New Macbook Pro Wont turn after discharge

Hello everyone,
I just purchased my 3rd mac in the past 2 years, yeah that's how hooked I am, now windows free 99% and love it...
My brand new macbook pro has a very annoying issue.. if I use it on battery power and it discharges completely I have to wait up to 15 minutes after connecting it to power to be able to turn it back on again. this is so frustrating as I am sometimes doing some work and have to get away from the computer for a few minutes.. If it discharges within that time and I come back to continue my work guess what.. I need to wait all this time even after connecting it to power to resume my work...
Does anyone has the same problem? is this normal? I've searched google and haven't found the same problem on anyone else unless they are OK with that and just don't report it... I've never had this problem with any other laptop I own and is extremely annoying, my wife's macbook doesn't do that, if it discharges and goes to sleep you can just connect the magsafe adapter and it will come right back up.

My MBP has always come back immediately. So has my old iBook. I rarely discharge my battery completely, but will do so on occasion to calibrate it. But I have never had the problem you describe. My personal opinion is that the long delay is definitely not normal.
Out of curiosity, next time your Mac shuts down like this, remove the battery and see if it will start up immediately. If it does, you could possibly have a faulty battery. If it still takes a lot of time to start up with the battery removed, there is something else wrong. I have never heard of anything quite like this. Since you didn't mention excessive heat, that wouldn't be a factor.
Be sure you can reproduce the condition for the Apple genius. They have to see it to be able to do anything. Go in a bit early with a low battery and run it out in the store, so you can show them exactly what it is doing.

My 4month old Macbook pro wont turn on unless plugged in, but remains on after unplugged.

I got a brand new macbook pro 4months old. What happens is it does not turn un unless it is plugged in when I unplug it though it is fine and will run till it dies, BUT if I were to close it and put it to sleep it will not turn back on. I would have to plug it back in and turn it on then I can unplug it and it will be fine till it falls back asleep.
Once I do turn it back on, a pop up says that I need to re adjust the clock and another trying to search for the internet, even if I was already connected with is 5 min ago. Even apps like tweetdeck and facbook would reset and I would have to enter all my information again, where as before it would just remain there.
I have NO idea why it is like this and I am not really familiar with a Mac and its OS but any information would be greatly appreciate!
