Help me! new ipod but it wont load new songs and itunes freezes!
i recently had to trade in my old ipod as it was faulty and between losing the old one and getting my new one i reformatted my computer, i downloaded itunes and re loaded all my cds back up
plug in my ipod and itunes freezes instantly, give it a few minutes and it slowly starts working untill it says cant load files, now can we not put m4a onto ipods? and if not why on earth did itunes decide to put it on as that?
someone please tell me how and what i should do to get my songs onto my ipod without it freezing and being a menace!
further inspecting my itunes and ipod it is now coming up saying the disk could not be read from or written to. what is this?

Does anyone know how to reset your security questions?? I loaded an itunes gift card on new ipod but when trying to make a purchase, itunes is asking us the incorrect security questions?! (for 1st time purchase) I know the questions are not what I chose because I wrote the questions & answers down when setting up the ipod. Any ideas??!!!

I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
"done", in the upper right corner
c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
security questions.
d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

New iPod Touch, won't sync purchased songs from iTunes library on new "authorized" laptop.
I must have missed a step. My old windows laptop died. Tried syncing iTunes library from old laptop to new iPod touch. Didn't work. Downloaded iTunes to new windows laptop. Logged into iTunes from new laptop and Authorized new windows laptop. Uploaded a few CDs into new laptop's iTunes library. Old purchased songs appeared on new laptop, however only uploaded songs from CDs will sync to new iPod touch.

Ipod isn't recognize by 7.0 and iTunes freezes during 1.2 installation
I have a two problems with my ipod since upgrading to version 7.0. First, when I connect my ipod to my computer, iTunes doesn't always pop up like it should. When I open iTunes, it doesn't always recognize the ipod at all. However, if I reboot, and then connect the ipod and then open iTunes manually, it recognizes. If I close out and then go back into iTunes or disconnect the ipod and reconnect, iTunes doesn't recognize the iPod. I have to reboot every time I want to use iTunes and my iPod.
Second, when the iPod is recognized and I open iTunes, it asks me "Do you want to install ipod software 1.2?" I click Install, iTunes freezes. There's this bar that goes back and forth, but that's it. The ipod itself doesn't display "do not disconnect," it's just has the main menu on the screen. I tried giving it needs some time to install, so I let my computer sit there for 4 hours, but still nothing. The same bar goes back and forth, nothing changes. I have to Ctrl + Alt + Del to exit out of iTunes. I reinstalled the ipod and itunes software from the CD and restored at least 5 times each. I keep running into the same problems. I verified that my laptop meets all of the Windows requirements for 7.0, but I can't figure out what the problem is.
Does anyone else have these issues?I have exactly the same issues with my new 80G iPOD. I have found that when connecting to my PC, the iPOD does not start iTUNES 7. This can be resolved by stopping the iPOD Service in Computer Management, connecting the iPOD and then starting it again. Seems like a stupid long-winded way to do things, but at least you can get some stuff on to your iPOD.
As far as using Restore goes - I just get the restoring iPOD message you described, which it blatantly isn't :((

I just got a new ipod but it wont sync music only apps.
I just got my new iPod a month ago and it worked fine a few days untill... poof... it no longer synced music. so i thought maybe i need to upgrade iTunes to the new version and so i did. My new iPod touch is not letting me open the app store or iTunes. Safari is working fine. Also my iPad and iPhone are working fine. Wifi is connected. The software update is also taking forever on iPod, it says it will take 49 hours. Should it take that long? I have tried resetting, turning on and off, making date and time right etc. the first day we got the iPod touch the app store worked but not since.

i recently bought a new computer and installed itunes and downloaded music already... I want to sync my new music into my ipod but it wont let me it says my ipod is linked to another itunes library, so If i want to go ahead with the process it says it will erase all my movies, photos, apps ect.. ok, my former computer crashed and i have a new one. i would like to sync my ipod with the new one, but it wont allow me to with out removing all of the data on it. How can i fix this?

Need to know your Mac model. If it's a PowerPC, the max OS is Leopard 10.5.x. If it's an Intel procesor, you can upgrade to Snow Leopard (for $29) & later to Lion.

I purchased an album a while ago and just got a new ipod so i downloaded all my purchases, and it all downloaded, but it downloaded the wrong songs. It says on the title that it is the correct song, but the audio is a completely different album. any help?
If you have been using the mac.com Apple ID to make iTunes purchases recently, then there should be no issues continuing to use it with the new iPhone. I would abandon the new ID as you will never get Apple to merge the two IDs. I have had a mac.com ID for years and continue to use it with my iPhone 4S.

i downloaded songs to my phone at xmas and when i plugged in to my laptop it wiped the phone of new purchases when i try and download them to my computer in itunes via previous purchesses it wont load the list and i keep getting error 10053 can any1 help
Syncing shouldn't trouch you photos unless you have photos in a Photo Library album. These would be photos that were synced to your phone from your computer. If you do have any, you'll need to use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your computer prior to syncing.
If you prefer to backup your camera roll photos prior to syncing, open iTunes and go to Preferences>Devices and check "Prevent...from syncing automatically". Then connect your phone to your computer and import them as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
Then, to minimize data loss, follow the steps in this user tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141. To follow the steps, first open iTunes and go to View>Show Sidebar. Also, Transfer Purchases is now located in File>Devices. -
ITunes recognizes my new iPod but rejects my old iPod
My old iPod's battery is just about dead. It is three years old; I will send it to Apple for a new battery.
In the meantime, I bought a new 5th generation iPod, 60 GB. It's great! Eventually the old iPod will be my work iPid and the new one wil be the home and recreation iPod.
Here's the problem. I researched using two iPods from the same copy of iTunes. In response to my questions in this forum, someone referred me to the article at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300432, "How to use multiple iPods with one computer", which I read, and which supported the idea that you can work with two iPods from one copy of iTunes.
My goal, then, was to follow Method Two as described in the article, and use two iPods from my one computer, without setting up separate user accounts for each one.
So -- I plopped in the CD that came with the new iPod, installed the latest iTunes. It had me register the new iPod by serial number.
In my copy of iTunes, my old iPod was called "Mae Sot's iPod". I set up the new iPod as "Mae Sot's New iPod".
I thought that from now on, when I plugged in my old iPod, iTunes would be able to recognize it, and when I plugged in the new one, iTunes would recognize it.
Wrong.
My copy of iTunes does great now in working with the new Ipod. But it totally rejects the old one.
When I plus in the old iPod to synch/recharge, I first get the Windows message in the lower right part of the screen with the headline, "USB device is not recognized", telling me that "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it..."
The first time this happened, that message eventually went away, iTunes launched, and I got an error message saying there was no folder for the device.
Now when I plug in the old iPod, I just get the "USB device is not recognized..." message, and iTunes does not launch.
Any idea what is the problem?
My goal is to get iTunes to add my old iPod as a recognized device, so that I can clean the music off it and send it to Apple for a new battery.

I got a new laptop and installed iTunes and plugged in my iPod but it won't get recognized on iTunes or in my computer, the computer says unknown device found and that the software was not successfully installed. You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists. -
