  • Doin a A64 overlockability Survey need youre help, ALL A64 users come here

First things first. No one i mean no one POST nonsense in this thread. Its ment to get results from A64's in thier overlocking ability, not to be a flamm bait thread.  Thanx for youre help and support
I know this is a mobo forum but it would really help since alot of A64 users are here.  Im conbinding all results from many diff forums on this chart.
Im from the Overlockers.com Forums and i will update this information on both forum's. As you see i already have some right now. Here is the thread in the oc forums http://www.ocforums.com/showindex.php?t=308656
Im trying to get results from a broad range of people to see if thier steppings acually affect overclocking. When i mean stepping i dont mean the CG or CO i mean the 5 digit steppings.
I need every A64 user in this forum to post here youre results on youre cpu. What cpu type you have newcastle or clawhammer, desktop, mobile, DTR ? Max stable overclock. Type of cooling used, voltage and cpu temps. I also need you to post youre cpu's Revision (CO,CG ect.) also post if its AR AX or AP which can easily spotted on the model number.
I also need you to post youre stepping which is the 5 digit code on the cpu. Beggining with C, exsamples are CAABC, CAAJC, CBASC, also post the week and year it was built (ex. 0404 ) along with the 4 digit code after that which should be like UMPW or XPMW.
Basicly what it should look like is this. Take a look at ur cpu and copy all the info and post it here.

    CAAJC 0404XMPW
Disclaimer:  Thier are some retailers that are selling so called Newcastle Core A64's that are actually Clawhammers with half the cache disabled.  If you somehow have CO stepping newcastle which can be reconised by the AP at the end of the model number please make sure you include that in youre post.
Here are all the Current CPU's out thier (Thanks goes to Hitechjb 1 for this MODEL and OPN code Information) For More very helpfull Information go here again thanks HitechJb 1 http://www.ocforums.com/showindex.php?s=&threadid=295328

In my opinion the 5 letters do affect overclockability, as my old 3200+ CO revision was a CAAPC and it was a porr overlocker.  This one is better, yet still not great, and others on the web that have 3400+ and are getting great results with other steppings, 2.6Ghz+ at decent voltages.
does the 0408 mean ti was manufactured in the 8th week of 2004?

How i can overlock this machine. My bios is locked so how i can unlock it? Please help me

Sorry, but HP doesn't provide "unlocked BIOSes" and we will not discuss the subject here. You can't overclock this computer even with an unlocked BIOS. However, if you wish to pursue an unlocked BIOS, please search the internet for "BIOS mods".
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

HELP !!!!!! NEED FOR ORIGINAL bios GF615M-P33!!!
I goof is kept to the old firmware bios, firmware and after computer started to hang every couple of minutes. Tumbler for overlock, those on the motherboard, when they switched to other modes motherboard does not start. I think you need the original bios. But I have neither version nor the old bios file. Now instaled this version of bios: 2.A0

BIOS is correct one, read >>Posting Guide<<
If the bios is correct, then why not work switches for overclocking??? With their switching to other modes (10%, 15% and 20%) than default motherboard does not start. How do you explain this? In BIOS firmware is working correctly.

  • MSI Z77A-G45 Can't maintain overlock

I'm having problems overclocking my system. When I enable OC genie it will run 4.2ghz all day np. Now when I reset default values, turn op the vcore and then adjust my CPU frequency I can achieve 4.5ghz quite easily. Run some benchmarks everything is stable no problem.
Now as soon as I shutdown my PC and start it back up it always fails, tries starting about 3-4 times and then decides the OC failed and then restores default settings.
But even when I only up the frequency a little let's say 3500mhz it still won't boot up after powering down. It seems like something is changed after shutting down and powering it up again.
How come manually it can run high speeds but as soon as I power it down and up it fails?
And how come OC genie can run 4200 and power up just fine.
Even when I mimic all values OC genie uses it still wont power up.
    update:
I was a little to fast to say it will work with oC genie all the time. At the moment when I load defaults and then enable OC genie it works fine. But shutdown the machine and then start it again it will also fail with OC genie enabled.
So it won't overlock even 100mhz when shutdown, when booted up and resetted there is no problem and I can stabily run 4500mhz with high load np. What is the difference between a reset and a shutdown and start up??? This makes no sense.
I'm running the latest bios version.

Have you installed all of the drivers? I linked win 7 64-bit make sure to select the right one.
Could you post ss's of your cpuid spd / memory tab & bios settings please?
Edit: Did you make sure the memory is installed in the right dimms for dual channel operation it is dimms 2 & 4 which sometimes throws people off.
Edit 2:  Don't do this with an I5 2500k, use the multiplier only to increase speed. That cpu does not like that.
Windows & drivers are not the problem. As long as it boots I get into windows, but it will fail at the POST state. Memory is installed as decribed in the manual in slot 2 & 4.
    I made some screenshots:
Between pic 1 and the last I changed dram timing to link, but on auto it will fail the same way. Everything is stock. It doesn't matter what I change as long as I don't change the cpu freq it will boot just fine. But god forbid I overclock 100mhz it will fail. But only after shutting down. Like said before I can turn it all the way up to 4500mhz just fine, just don't shutdown and try to boot it up again.
I also did a CMOS reset, didn't help either.

  • Help on overclocking i7 860 on P55 Gd65 w/ high temp

I just recently resolved certain issues with my new build computer. So i now tried using OC Genie and cpu frequency overclocked to 3.41 GHZ with V core at 1.4 volts . I am already contended with that amount of increase however at 88% load the temp would reach 77 C at a room temperature 31 C. I guess that temp. is at a dangerous level so i turned off OC Genie. Then i tried to overlock it thru windows using the Control Center software provided by MSI. Under it i just went to Basic Overclocking wherein there are four (4) preset settings. I clicked on Game and the cpu overclocked to 3.116 GHZ and at 88% load the temp would reach as high as 68 C (room temp at 31 C). Temperatures were monitored thru the used of Real Temp.
I would want to reach at least 3.4 Ghz thru the use of OC Genie but those high temp made me reluctant to keep it at such speed. So at the moment i am just @ 3.1 Ghz and i am not even sure if at such speed or frequency that 68 C (88% load) is safe or not.
I changed my cpu cooler to a much larger one which is a Thermaltake Frio with 2 fans (push and pull configuration)  and even reinstalled it but still no improvement.
I have read reviews wherein many where able to overclocked to as high as 3.8 Ghz and even 4 Ghz with this cpu cooler with no problems regarding temperature.
At first i thought of purchasing a Noctua NH DH14 but to my dismay that is not available here in the Philippines so i settled with Thermaltake Frio.
My case Cm Storm Sniper  has enough fans but still the temp will still go that high if the cpu is overclocked to 3.4 Ghz.
I want a lower cpu temp so i can overclocked it a little bit higher.
Please help and thanks in advance.

With the use of an aircon at night the temp would reach at 56 C (88% load) at a mere 3.116 Ghz.
That's a significant 12°C drop compared to your other result @31°C:

In my opinion, this proves that the crucial factor in your case is the ambient temperature.  And that means that the best way to get the system running cooler is to either keep the room temperature down or change the cooling method to something more effective @high ambient temperatures.

  • P7N Diamond, need help

Hello, i have built a new machine and now after a few days i think my graphic card died. Computer starts with gpu fan at 100% but thats about it, screen is blank.
Havent tried to switch graphic card yet, gonna buy a cheap one tomorrow, i suspect the psu but it should be ok, hmm =)
Anyway my system, i hope any of you can help me out.

    +12V V3 20A
    +12V V4 20A
    -12V 1A
    +5VSB 2.5A
It should be able to handle 41A on +12v1 and +12v2 together and max 530W (52.5A) on all 12V at once.
I am not very good at explaining in english but the psu should be high quality and was best rated by a swedish oc site.
Before i bought this i read alot on different sites to find out if i needed 26A on one rail or not and some said it was needed and some said
it works great with just a high quality psu.
I have also tried to remove everything except the graphic card, cpu, memory, and tried it with only 1 stick.

I solved it, thanks for the replies. Dont know what was causing it, i removed the motherboard from the case and it worked.
But there are still some issues, but i dont know what =) I have tried to overlock also but it isnt going very well, i dont know why its failing if it is the memory or if i dont give enough voltage... i made it boot at 4 ghz and the stress test with Orthos failed when memory was involved 8(
The thing i dont get is if i choose manual and set the ram memory at 800 mhz, does it stay there when i pick a higher fsb or does it secretly overclock =)
Also everytime i boot up vista 64, just before the login screen appears, when things work it fades nice to the login screen but when something is wrong it looks like a sick sack or how its spelled, pattern in black before the screen appears, even if i dont overclock at all.
Does any of you know what voltages that i should stick with? I would like to have the whole bios at manual but i dont know what most of the commands do, like the terminator, gtl settings =)

    drawMain(g);
    public void drawMain(graphics g){

    //Thread.sleep here
    g.drawRect(x, y, 50, 70);
}I also need to put delays between method calls but I need to synchronize them. Am I doing it all wrong? The application pauses or sleeps but afterwards, it still drew everything all at once. Thanks a lot!

It is. Sorry about that. Just answer any if you want to. I'd appreciate your help. Sorry again if it caused you anything or whatever. .n_n.

  • Help my safari doesnt open and gives me a crash report

help my safari doesn't open and gives me a crash report ever since i downloaded a file from the internet. I have a macbook air (early 2014) with running os x yosemite version 10.10.1

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
    if it's not already checked.

  • Apple Mini DVI to Video Adapter is not working. Please Help...

I bought an Apple Mini DVI to Video Adapter to connect my Macbook to a TV using normal video cable. When I connect the cable, my Laptop DIsplay gives a flickr once and then it shows nothing. I checked Display in the system preference where I don't get a secondary monitor option. My TV is panasonic and it's an old one. I work on Final Cut Pro and it's very very important to see my videos on a TV. What am I doing wrong with the connection? Anyone Please Please help...

Your probably not doing anything wrong. There are thousands of users with Similar issues and it seems to be with many different adapters.
We have Mini DP to VGA (3 different brands) and they all fail most of the time. This seems more prevalent with LCD Projectors. I've tested some (50+) with VGA Monitor (HP) and they all worked, LCD Projector (Epson, Hitachi, and Sanyo) and they all fail, DLP Projector (Sanyo) and one worked.
My Apple Mini DP to DVi works most of the time. My Mini DP to HDMI (Generic non Apple) works every time.
The general consensus is that Apple broke something in the OS around 10.6.4 or 10.6.5 and its not yet fixed. As we are a school we have logged a case with the EDU Support group so will see what happens.

  • PSE icons instead of the photo. I need to view photos at a glance. Please help me????

Please help, this is driving me crazy.  I have downloaded my free PSE #9, it came with my Leica Camera.  I cannot view at a glance any of my photos.  There is only an icon that reads, PSE.  To view any of my photos, I must click select and then preview.  This gets old, and I am doing 4 times the work. I am having to use the dates to guess where my photos might be.  I hate this!  My old Photo Shop #5 didn't do this.  When you went to my pictures, you could see every photo.
I have tried the right click and open as any program.  What ever program I choose, that is the icon that appears.  No photo. Still no good.
    Please help.
    Thanking anyone in advance,
    Leica

    Hi,
Are you using Windows Explorer to view the files?
If so, load Explorer, go to the Tools menu and select Folder Options.
Click on the View tab and make sure the first option (Always show icons, never thumbnails) is not checked.
Click on OK and see if that is any better.

  • IPOD NO LONGER RECOGNIZED BY ITUNES - HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When connecting to I-Tunes my Ipod now appears only as 'IPOD'
The Windows 'Autoplay' box appears on the left hand side of my screen.
Everything then freezes for a short while then an error message says that I-Tunes has detected an Ipod that is corrupted.
My Ipod itself is fine so I'm reluctant to restore if that will not solve the problem.
Is something to do with an automatic software update?
    Please help......................
