Help me re-connect

I was recently trying to connect my xbox360 to my wireless internet. It wouldnt connect but i suspected it was caused by my security settings, i logged into the admin panel (192.168.1.1) and disabled security to see if i could connect after doing so. (If i could connect after disabling security, it would obviously mean my security settings are preventing me from connecting to the xbox) after I disabled it and hit save, my internet went down. unpluging/pluging in the router does not fix it. I suspect if i re-enable security it would fix this problem but i cant get into the admin panel without internet. Right now im on my neighbors network which is why im able to post this.
My question is how to i get back into my wireless networks admin panel to re-enable security?
(i dont care about connecting my xbox, ill worry about that later)
please reply as soon as possible
Thanks

You disabled the Security on your Wireless computer/laptop and that's why you got disconnected from your Wireless Network...To get back to the admin page of your router you should connect your laptop straight to an ethernet port of your router and then access the admin page...
For xbox you can try this :
Open an Internet Explorer browser page.In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on "Applications and Gaming" tab and then click on "Port Range Forwarding" subtab...
1) On the first line in Application box type in ABC, in the start box type in 53 and End box type in 53, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
2) On the second line in Application box type in PQR, in the start box type in 88 and End box type in 88, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
3) On the third line in Application box type in XYZ, in the start box type in 3074 and End box type in 3074, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box and click on Save Settings...
4) Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
5) Click on set-up and change the MTU Size to 1452 and click Save Settings...
6) Goto the XBox Network Settings and IP Address Settings and select manual IP Settings and assign the following on your Xbox
IP Address :- 192.168.1.20, Subnet Mask :- 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway :- 192.168.1.1...
7) Also assign the DNS Addresses on the Xbox
Primary dns :- 4.2.2.2...Secondary dns :- 192.168.1.1
8) Turn off your modem, router, and Xbox...Wait for a minute...
9) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the Xbox and test it...it will connect...

  • Help needed in connecting a Mac Mini to AT&T DSL

    Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem will be appreciated. I'm helping a friend connect a Mac to the Internet using AT&T DSL. The computer is a Mac Mini, 1.42 GHz PPC G4, running OS X 10.5. It is connected by Ethernet to an AT&T DSL modem. The Mini's Network preference is configured to connect using DHCP.
    Strange symptoms include:
    1. Safari will not connect to the Internet.
    2. However, Firefox WILL connect and loads all websites I tried.
    3. Apple Mail will connect and download messages from my friend's previous email address (not AT&T), but will not connect to allow me to configure his new AT&T account.
    4. Other programs that need a network connection won't run; for example, the Software Update preference, when checking for new updates, claims that there is no network connection.
    Do these symptoms indicate that the Mini's network preferences are not configured correctly, or that the DSL modem is not configured correctly?
    More information: with the modem is an "Installation Wizard Disc" CD with a setup program. It's supposed to work for any PPC G3 or greater Mac, which certainly fits this Mini. BUT, when run on the Mini, the setup program displays a message that the computer's processor is "unrecognized". Then the setup program quits. I ran the setup program on my MacBook Pro laptop connected to the DSL modem. It went through a lengthy process with messages about "configuring the modem". After this, I was able to connect to the Internet with Safari using the laptop. This seems to indicated that there's nothing basically wrong with the modem or DSL connection. However, I can't run the setup program on the Mini. (The above symptoms were after getting the laptop to work, then switching the Ethernet connection back to the Mini.)

    This is a strange problem, especially since Firefox is working OK.
    You might try using OpenDNS. They have a good set of instructions about how to do this here:
    https://www.opendns.com/start
    It's possible that AT&T's DNS servers aren't responding fast enough, and Safari is timing out quicker than Firefox.
    The other option is to call AT&T and ask for support in accessing their DSL modem.
    A third option would be to download a system maintenance utility like Yasu
    http://jimmitchell.org/projects/yasu/
    and use it to clear all the caches in the system -- in case the Mini somehow is using stale information about the net.

    All content purchased from iTunes is permanently linked to the Apple ID it was purchased with.

  • Help needed in Connecting to SAP From Eclipse

    Hi All,
    Currently, we have a requirement where we need to retrieve data from SAP System and need to upload the same in a Third Party Application (Java based system).
    We are able to create an account in Java Application using Eclipse IDE by hard coding the Account details. We are stuck up in establishing the SAP connection and retrieving the details and then creating the extracted account details in Java application from Eclipse.
    Any pointers on this will be of great help.
    Regards,
    Eureka

    Hi Eureka,
    Please refrain from creating cross-posts in parallel forums, moreover this question is JCo-related and is not directly connected with Java EE 5. The Help needed in Connecting to SAP From Eclipse in the Java Programming forum would be enough. Please continue the discussion there.

  • Please Help, Can't Connect

    Help!
    I purchased 2 MacBooks for my daughters for Christmas. We were not able to connect via wireless to our WEP secured network. That day we spent endless hours talking to our DSL provider SBC and Apple both pointing the finger at each other regarding this matter. Eventually SBC recommended inserting a "$" sign before the password to connect. Unfortunately that did work for 1 of the 2 computers for about 1 hour. BTW, my wireless PCs work fine. Eventually I removed the WEP code requirements and made the network nonsecured. That actually worked for 1 week. Both New MacBooks connected instantly and the speed seemed comparable to the PCs. Although I'm not happy about having a nonsecure network, I was willing to make the change to support our new Apples. FYI, my Modem/Router is a 2Wire HomePortal 1000HG and it is running the latest update. Last Sunday, we brought the new computers to my office and both computers connected after inserting the password with the "$" preceding the password. Wow! Not a perfect scenario but OK to my standards. Last night, 1 of the 2 computers will not connect to my home non secured network. Again, we called both SBC and Apple to solve this problem and both are playing the blame game and I'm still not connected. Should I spend more money and time and buy a different modem/router? It seems like others have tried new devices and ended up with thinner wallets and still no connection.
    After reading this discussion board I'm now confident that this is an Apple issue and not SBC. I'm disgusted that Apple Support Tech's are making me feel like I'm an idiot and blaming SBC. How can Apple put out a computer in 2007 that does not connect to the internet, don't they test these products? Finally, why is apple ignoring this problem? And, why are the Apple Support Tech's not admitting to this problem?
    Apple needs to do the right thing. This is my first Apple purchase and I'm ready to Heave Ho both of these MacBooks into the Pacific.
    APPLE, is there a fix? When will it be available?
    CONSUMBERS, can we do something about this as a group?
    I'm not a happy customer,
    Joe
    Not Connected

    My MacBook connects to my 2Wire Router/Modem and SBC Yahoo DSL connection just fine as do all my other computers (iBook via Ethernet and 3 Windows PCs, 2 desktops with Ethernet and one laptop with Wireless and Ethernet sometimes) as well as our NAS and our Tivo on our home network.
    We have a slighly newer/more expensive version of the router than you, its something like the 1701HG with the 4 ethernet ports, wireless and 1 USB port on it. We use the WPA-PSK Authentication type with TKIP encryption and that is more secure than WEP is, and like the other person said, WEP can have some problems of its own so if you can use WPA instead, I would try for that... Also, check what channel you have your Router running on as default (11 works best in my experience, but if you have neighbors that use 11 as well, then going with another channel # away from theirs will give you a better signal usually).
    Also, check your power settings for the router (I put mine on 10 -the highest- to give me the best signal strength), and watch out for any possible interference (cordless phones that are on the same or nearby channel can do this, put your phone on a lower # instead) and things like using you microwave can cause interference as well.
    Having a non secure (non-encrypted) network is not good to have obviously, and not just because of the way it leaves your computers open to others as in hackers etc, but just for the fact that it means anyone that can see your SSID being broadcast can then join your network and use your internet bandwidth (taking away possible speed from your usage as well as anything else they do, having it go through your broadband account).

  • Help needed with connection problem before I chew off my foot.

    I am on 24/7 with Virgin.
    From last Friday, my connection telephone number has been constantly engaged.
    BT tell me it is not a valid number (?).
    I can access the internet just by changing the number in remote access to the one I'm using now - a pay by the minute number.
    This leads me to believe thay my settings are correct - as they have been for a considerable time.
    Virgin have responded once with a standard reply confirming the telephone number (useless) to four e-mails. There is an unconnected (no pun intended) 'server' problem with their 'online help'.
    I am on Netscape or IE, external Zoom modem and I haven't done anything which might alter my settings.
    Any help would be much appreciated - even sympathy might make me feel better!
    Please bear in mind that I am a techno-idiot with any advice offered.
    Thanks in advance.

    I get a perpetual 'engaged' tone with a mechanical woman telling me that the number is busy, please try later.
    The 'helpline' is a premium number. Cleverly, I have had premium numbers blocked on my 'phone line to defeat the fraudsters re-directing calls.
    This means that I have to use someone else's 'phone to call a premium number!
    Since last Friday, I have sent a total of six e-mails to Virgin and received one 'standard' reply which was of no help.
    I agree that it seems like an ISP problem.
    However, perhaps someone could kindly talk me through the things I ought to be checking on my computer (in words of one syllable where possible!).
    Thankyou in anticipation.

  • IPod Nano 5th Gen Help: When I connect my iPod to my PC it seems to connect fine and show as normal until I load up itunes. Why is it suddenly not being recognized once my itunes is loaded?

    Hello, I've been working at this for hours but have made little to no progress in fixing my issue.
    So when I plug my ipod in via usb into my computer the autoplay starts and it connects as an iPod. I can see it when I open up "Computer" and everything seems to be running fine. I'm not getting any errors or anything.
    However, the moment itunes starts up, whether it be manually started or starting automatically through the helper, my symbol for safely removing falls off of my screen and I can no longer see the ipod in "Computer". Though I may be able to see it in Printer and Devices.
    I've already gone through several steps to try and fix it via support on this site. I've reinstalled itunes, I've gone into disk mode, I've reset the ipod, unplugged it and replugged it in. My last option is to restore to factory defaults. As much as I would love to do this to see if it works (as all my music is backed up on discs and my computer), I can't do so if it isn't showing in itunes due to the fact it can't detect the ipod or at least the kind of ipod. I've tried to find a 3rd party program that could do this but none of them offer the option. Note: The ipod itself works fine. I can listen to it and it'll charge just fine. It just won't recognize.
    I'm running Windows 7 OS. iTunes is up-to-date.
    If anyone knows how to fix it, the help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello BPeery,
    I would go through ALL the steps here:
    iPod not recognized in 'My Computer' and in iTunes for Windows
    Let us know how it goes.
    Hope this helps.

    If you're running a Web app, put all JARs that your app needs in the WEB-INF/lib directory. That's always in the CLASSPATH.
    I don't know WebSphere. Do you really have to edit something to add all those CLASSPATH entries?
    In Tomcat, all I'd have to do is put a WAR file in the webapps directory.
    Your code needs some work. You're not following Sun's Java coding standards. Capitalize your class name, for starters.
    Is the username and password for your database still "scott" and "tiger"? Nice security there.
    Your connect method makes a database connection. Do you leave it to users to close it? (You do close your connections when you're done with them, don't you?)
    I'd make Connection a data member and create it in a constructor. I'd write a close method to close it up.
    Doesn't WebSphere do connection pooling? Do you really want to write your own class to handle this?

  • Help with Oracle Connection- "Input string was not in a correct format"

    Hello, can some one, anyone please help me. I have a simple VS 2005 C# application that connects to oracle. I've set it up to take the username, password and tnsname as arguments. I am using Client 9i, version 9.2.0.401 of Oracle.DataAccess.dll, and .NET Framework 2.0.
    It works fine when I run it from VS 2005, I have also set up a test machine w/o VS 2005 and ran my install package and it runs fine. I sent it to one of my co-workers and when he tries it the OracleConnection obect fails with the error.
    "Input string was not in a correct format"
    strange in that it is not an ORA error, just the identifed text!?
    Here is the code:
    ## begin code
    OracleConnection dbc = new OracleConnection();
    string sConnectString = "User Id=" + username.ToString() + ";Password=" + password.ToString() + ";Data Source=" + tnsname.ToString();
    dbc.ConnectionString = sConnectString.ToString();
    MessageBox.Show("Attempting to Connect to Oracle");
    dbc.Open();
    MessageBox.Show("Connected to Oracle: " + dbc.ServerVersion);
    ## end code
    Pretty basic, what could be going on?
    Since this only happens with an installation, I put in the message boxes to verify exactly where it chokes. I get the first message box, then an error with the identified text. I've seen a number of posts regarding input string format problems, but not a one dealing with OracleConnection.Open(). I added all the ToString() calls just to make sure everything was a string but it did not change the end result.
    Anyone? Thanks In advance!
    Eric S.

    Hello,
    well, i got a message "...string not wellformed format...", too.
    If you have defined the parameters as string, you don't need the additonal "ToString()". Please ckeck your tnsnames -string. Try to debug this. I believe you have copy the format from the tnsnames.ora and there you have much brackets.
    For example, two code snippets:
    As datasource i use <Server>:<Port>/<Instance>
    try
    string FDsn ="User Id="+FDbUser+";Password="+FDbPwd;
    FDsn +=";Data Source=wth5:1521/Ora9.wth5";
    FConn = new OracleConnection(FDsn);
    FConn.Open();
    if (FConn.State == ConnectionState.Open )
         FConn.Close();
    catch (Exception ex)
         FStateMsg = "Connection to database failed. Check Configuration in parameter: ConnectionString. " + ex.Message;
    Above i connect to a Ora 9.2.0.1
    by using
    FDsn +=";Data Source=wth5:1522/XE";
    i connect to an OraExpress database on the same machine.
    My Oracle.dataAccess.dll ist the newest, 10.2.... and it runs under Framework 1.1.x and Framework 2.x
    I'll hope it will help you. Best regards!
