Help me set After Effects MultiProcessing

Hello Guys,
Could someone help me set MultiProcessing correctly?
I've an esacore 5820k with HT so 12 Cores total seen by AE
16GB of RAM in Quad Channel
GTX 780 and plenty of SSDs (i've like 12 SSDs so no problem for space and fast storage)
I generally mount videos for Youtube where I apply filters like light & shadow, saturation, selective color correction and cc lens
How should I set the MultiProcessing tab?

After Effects - Multiprocessing not allowed even when a Proxy is used?

Hi everybody!
          I have a composition (Comp1) that uses an effect which doesn't allow multiprocessing (e.g., Lens Blur) -- this I understand.
          Comp1 is used inside of Comp2. When I pre-render Comp1 and use that render as a proxy for Comp1 inside of Comp2, I still can't use multiprocessing. This is the confusing bit. I'd think since the Lens Blur effect isn't actually being rendered, it shouldn't give me any guff.
          Alas, it does. Anyone else run into this? Is there a workaround, or is it a bug/oversight by our friends at Adobe?

Hi Dave,
I appreciate your help, but I think I'm still missing something. When I set a proxy movie for my Comp1, come render time, it should never look inside Comp1 at all — it should just use the proxy movie. The LensBlur effect is not applied to Comp1 itself, it's used INSIDE Comp1.
To what end would AE look inside the real Comp1 when it's been assigned a proxy movie?

Typically, a proxy is a low-resolution substitute for the real image to make AE work a little faster, right? When AE renders, it doesn't render the proxy, it uses the high-resolution real image, right? The same thing is happening in your project.
If it doesn't impact your work to use a lower-resolution substitute for your comp 1, I'd suggest not using the substitute as a proxy.
If full resolution matters, make a full-resolution prerender.

Help Error (193) After Effects CS5

Hi dear friendsI just installed After effects cs5 and sends me this error and I opened, I was looking for a long time and can not find the solution, but it says the message I give here more info on my pc, and hopefully I can help solve this I do not understand.

I am not surprised by that. You need more memory on your computer! You went from a computer with only 3 GB RAM to one with just 2 GB RAM.
Personally, I would not try to run AE on a computer with anything less than 8 GB RAM, and I would not try to use multiprocessing with it. I would not try to use multiprocessing unless I had 16 GB RAM.
After Effects uses a lot of memory. You are in desperate need of more memory. Until you get more, you will be unsuccessful when you use it.

Help needed in After Effects

Hey guys, I'm from Holland so my english isn't that good.
I have a problem (Oh yes.) I have a background, for example(!) the left side of a bridge.
I want to animate that my background moves to the left, so the right side of the bright is visible.
I can do that, but now comes the problem. I have other layers, for example a road under the bridge with moving cars. How can i move the background and the other layers at the same time to the left? Without making it one layer.

Ok, this works for me!
To parent one layer to another, just click the dropdown box under where
it says 'parent' in the composition window and select the layer you want
it to follow.

HELP! My After Effects project is complete, but when I render out and playback the video is a lot faster then the original playback.

I have finished my After Effects project. The project includes a lot of text and fade ins and outs and looks perfect in the playback. But once I render and playback with Quicktime the video does not look the same. The animations are very jumpy. Please help!

Also, my AE comp is 29.97, but i have four other comps in that one and they're 23.97 fps.
It seems like that would be the likely culprit. Is there a specific reason those comps (which are, I assume, nested inside the 29.97 one?) are 23.976? Do they contain 23.976fps footage? Mixing of comps, video and different frame rates can often cause juddery playback after rendering, as the interpolation of the frame rates to the master render frame rate happens without any interaction on the user's part. But AE gives many different options (and techniques, everyone has their own) to assist with getting the frame rates and speeds more aligned so the final frame rate is perfect for them all. It takes a little planning, that's all.

i cant install adobe after effects CS5 trail it keeps giving me an erorr that says "error occured with connection with adobe.com (error 107), how do i restart adobe download assingment,and the bar at the bottom tells me to sing in when i already have, anyways i need help, can u guys helpme install adobe after effects CS5 trial?

HELP: My Videohive After Effects project is rendering artifacts! AE CS6

HP-HPE 510t
i7 2600 @ 3.4GHz
16GB Ram
Windows 8 x64bit
Nvidia GTX 660 Ti
I purchased a Videohive After Effects project with motion gfx and video, and it is rendering artifacts in two places.
I'm exporting Quicktime + animation, tried + PNG, and + photo jpeg but all with the same results.
I even contacted the author but he cannot explain why either. The interesting thing is, it renders beautifully without any artifacts in AE.
Only on the export render do I see the black silhouette artifacts. Below are some photos of what I mean.
Please help? i'm trying to export the highest quality for youtube and am going to H.264 the lossless version.

Only reason that I'm using photobucket instead of the built-in image embeddor (camera icon), is because it doesn't seem to be working for me. All I get is an empty dialog box, tried also with video but that one seems to be working properly.
maybe ill try firefox.
any solutions for the artifacts??
My output module settings so far have been..
tried:
1) Quicktime + Animation (lossless) quality 100
2) Quicktime + photo jpg
3) Quicktime + PNG (lossless) quality 100
4) Quicktime + H.264 30mbps
tried rendering again with "Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously" turned off...still getting artifacts only on these text offset animation frames.
still looks perfect while in after effects.. I restarted my computer, I cannot figure this out.

Help Reinstalling Adobe After Effects

I recently had to uninstall After Effects because of an error. Now when I try to Reinstall it from CC on my dashboard it acts like it is still installed. And if I try to install it from the website it says to download the trial version, when I click it it says that external protocol request to install it into CC, but then nothing happens. I am on a Mac Version 10.9.1
Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated.

Help with Premiere, After Effects and Davinci workflow

I'm scratching my head wondering how I'm going to solve this workflow issue that I have, but hopefully it isn't that much of an issue.
We have shot a short film with an A-cam that delivers CinemaDNG files. I converted these files into Apple ProRes 422 Proxy with Davinci Resolve 9 Lite
and then I imported the proxy files into Adobe Premiere CC. The idea is to then to > edit the film in Premiere > import it to After Effects CC via Dynamic Link (to make the effects we're after) > send it back to Premiere > export as XML to Davinci > relink to the original CinemaDNG-files and perform the color grading, and then finally export the film (either back to premiere to export it with audio or export it directly from Davinci in some way?)
I'm new to all this and I would really appreciate help!

Well I thought I had a good post prod plan, but now I realized it maybe wasn't that good when AE gets involved.
My initial idea was to follow this workflow tutorial > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kpg0k3aD088#t=327 (He have now made this tutorial private and I'm having a hard time remembering my YouTube password so at the moment I can't watch it... great)
CC may not specifically support A-CAM's CinemaDNG files, but it will do for a rough cut, even though it looks purple and horrible
What do you think about this? I import the cinemadng folders into premiere and make a rough cut out of it, then I'll export the sequence as a XML file and bring it into Davinci where I relink to the cinemadng files and perform the color grading and then export it as 422 HQ (for example?) and then bring it back to Premiere to make my final edit and also use Dynamic Link with After Effects? Any possible failures with that technique?

Ps: Reason why I'd like to perform color grading in Davinci and not Speed Grade is because of the purple tint I get in SG and PP!

HELP!! AFTER EFFECTS WON'T INSTALL!

I recently bought the CS3 Production Premium Suite. I had the trial version of AE3, now when I try to install the Suite it says "Cannot install After Effects CS3 because it conflicts with After Effects CS3." The other After Effects is already uninstalled, anyone know why it is doing this or how to fix it?

Yes and no. Unfortunately ever since AE7 the installer creates an entire spiderweb of logfiles, references and shared components, so removing one will not necessarily fix the other. You could try removing any Registry keys that reference AE7 and delete all the Adobe shared components and the installer may be tricked into launching again, but be aware that this is experimental and at your own risk. You might have a hell of a time. In the grander scheme of things it would be simpler to completely nuke the system and reinstall Windows and all other programs from scratch. BTW, if you hadn't uninstalled so quickly, the problem probably could have been "fixed" by simply deleting the prefs...

Please Help! Photoshop & After Effects launch and fail.

Both Photoshop and After Effects seem to stop working after I launch them. After Effects starts by telling me I don't have Quicktime and then starts to open a window only to remain blank and tell me it stopped working. Photoshop just doesn't even pop open a window.
Adobe Flash is the only one that seems to be working when I open it up.
I am running Windows 8. This all started when I installed the drivers for my new Bamboo Pen and Touch. I hope it isn't the problem since I bought it solely for Photoshop and Flash. I have creative cloud.
It Starts:
Adobe Photoshop CC has stopped working
"Windows is looking for a solution"
Then it says:
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Please follow the steps mentioned in the kb: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/cc-applications-crash-immediately-launch.html. You may even try running the software in Compatiblility mode for Win 7.

Although I have a subscription to creative cloud student and teacher edition I am unable to download After Effects, please advise!

Are you seeing any errors? If yes, could you share some details about the problems you're seeing.
What computer are you using, Win or Mac? Could you also check that your computer meets the system requirements.

I'm using Adobe After Effect CS4. It worked pretty well but today, when i lauch it, a message appeared. The message said: "After Effect warning: Unable to create font".Then i searched google and tried many ways: reinstall, restart windows,etc...but it didn't work.After that, i tried to lauch other Adobe Programs like Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop. I lauched it and work space appeared but there aren't any words in the button on the work space.What should i do now?!
P/S: I using Windows 7.

Need Help! In After Effects

Hi I know this may sound really basic but i'm new to Adobe After effectts. The problem that I'm having is that, I have just created a "cinematic look" for one of my shots. However once I put my next shot in, The effects that i changed are now gone. I don't know if there is an easy way to get this same look to my shot, but if there is i would be quite happy to hear that there is an easier way than just creating the effect ever new shot.
