Help Me Solve a Connection Mystery

Any thoughts on trouble-shooting this would be helpful.
1. Using audio/video, I can connect from _my office_ (MacBook Pro running OS X 10.5 w/HIGH bandwidth) to _my mom's house_ or _my sister's house_ (both have MacBook Pros running OS X 10.4.11 w/wireless DSL).
2. Using audio/video, I can connect from _my office_ to _my home_ (PowerMac 2xG4 with wired DSL).
3. I cannot connect via audio or video from _my house_ to _my mom/sister's_ computers.
So all of the routers/connections work... depending on who I'm connecting to.
With the failed audio/video connections, the invitation is sent okay, but once it's accepted the "starting connection" icon just spins and the connection never completes.
I am running a cheapie USB camera at home (with iUSBcam), but that's not a problem when I'm connecting to the office.... that connection works fine and the quality is good.
Suggestions on trouble-shooting would be appreciated.

Yes, in simple terms.
Most domestic devices do NAT (Network Address Translation)
This can be done in lots of different ways.
Strangely not all of these work with each other and in some case cause the data (particularly port info for Chat) to get changed. This can also be seen when the devices are the same make and even the same model.
The Pics at Port Forward about the device listed says this device does UPnP.
If you have chosen a different method to open the ports try Setting UPnP and disabling the other method.

  • Help me solve stolen iPhone mystery

    I need some clarification on how the Continuity feature works in order to solve who took my iPhone 5c.
    The last time I know for sure I had my phone was in location A where there are 3 people who could have taken it.
    I then went to location B where I was using my Macbook Air when I received an SMS (sent to my iphone telephone number that was stolen) that appeared on my Macbook Air as I was using it.  My question is does the iPhone have to be in the same location as the laptop for the Continuity feature to work.  If yes then I know the phone was in location B and I know exactly who took it.
    Hopefully I was clear enough! thanks

    Thanks for that link, but I locked my phone using the "find my iphone" on iCloud as soon I realized it was missing.
    My question was a little more nuanced.
    Even if it 'connected' via Continuity, then that would mean that it was connected to a wi-fi network.  Therefore, if it has a wi-fi connection (or a cellular data connection), it's trackable via Find My iPhone.  Use that to locate your device.

  • Please help me solve a MultiProvider mystery...

    Greetings,
    Happy autumn to everyone!  I have a weird situation with a MultiProvider.  I added a key figure to the MultiProvider.  Let's call the InfoObject ZKEY_FIGURE.
    In dev and QA, there are no problems.  In production, when I look at the MultiProvider from RSA1, I see ZKEY_FIGURE in the MultiProvider, and I see that it is correctly assigned to an InfoObject in a source InfoProvider.
    BUT... when I open up the query designer and create a query against the MultiProvider, ZKEY_FIGURE does not show up anywhere in the query designer.  It is not under key figures on the left-hand side or anywhere else.  In other words, it is in the MultiProvider, but the query designer can't see it.  Therefore, I can't use ZKEY_FIGURE in a query.
    What do I need to do to make the query designer see that ZKEY_FIGURE is in the MultiProvider?
    Thanks,
    Sarah

    Thanks to everybody for the replies!  I truly appreciate it!
    I fixed the problem by re-activating the MultiProvider in dev (even though it was already active) and re-transporting.  That fixed it.  I really don't know what caused this issue or why re-transporting an already-active object would fix it, but I guess it is just a mystery.  I am very happy it is resolved!
    Here are the answers to the questions you posed in your replies:
    Question from Prathish:
    Can you just try regenerating your query once again and check if the Keyfigure is displayed
    Answer:
    Thanks, Prathish.  I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "regenerate", but I did open several queries against the MultiProvider in production and run them.  Whenever I did this, the key figure was not displayed in the query designer.
    Also, I created queries from scratch in production.  They had the same problem in which they key figure would not display.
    Question from SSS:
    Have you checked technical consistancies using RSRV?
    Answer:
    Thanks, SSS.  I didn't try that, but I will make a note of that transaction for next time and appreciate the suggestion.  Thanks!
    Question from prashanthk:
    Are you sure the key figure assignment(identification) is done in the multiprovider?
    If its there in the Infocube and not visible in MP means once Cross check the identification of KF?
    also check for the data is displayed for this KF using the display data or LISTCUBE transaction.
    Answer:
    Yes, I've triple-checked the assignment, and my colleagues have also looked at it, because I wanted a second pair of eyes to make sure I wasn't missing something.
    I didn't try display data or LISTCUBE, but thanks for suggesting them.  I will remember that for next time!
    Comment from Anass M:
    close all query designer instances
    activate the multiprovider again (tcode rsa1, change, activate)
    check if something wrong in tcode rsrv.
    Answer:
    Thanks, Anass.  Re-transporting fixed it, so I didn't get the chance to look at rsrv, but I will try that next time.
    Question from UPEDNEKAR:
    In your post, you are mentioning that when you 'created' a query on the MP you could not see the Key figure. Now , did you created the Query directly on Production server ? How about creating a Query on the Dev. server and checking out if you are encountering similar issue ?
    Answer:
    Thanks, UPEDNEKAR.  When I created the query in production, I could not see the key figure.  When I created a query in dev, I could see the key figure.  When I transported that query to Q, I could see the key figure.  When I transported that query to P, the transport went to P with no problems (return code 0).  But... when I opened up the query in production, I got a message that said the key figure did not exist and I had to click "Repair" to remove that key figure from the query.
    Thanks again to everyone!  This is what makes the online community so great!  Have a good rest of the week!

  • HP Deskjet 3520 e-All-in-One Printer. Help tells me to connect to computer with USB cable

    I cannot scan anything at the moment despite the fact that I was able to do so several weeks ago.  I went to the HP online support site and downloaded a scan doctor programme.  It tells me that I do not have the proper scan software on my system and to download it from the HP website.  It does't take me to the specific software I need but to a list of things I don't have so I downloaded all of this.  I am half way through the setup process for one program and it is asking me to connect the printer/scanner to my computer using a usb cable so that "the settings of your wireless network can be communicated to the printer".  I don't remember getting a usb cable with the printer but if I did I have no idea where it now is.  What are the chances that finding this/buying this will actually solve my problem and is there a way to solve them without the cable?  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @translator82,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
    I noticed that your HP Deskjet 3520 is telling you to connect it to the computer with a USB cable. I am happy to help you with this connection issue!
    To download the software, please visit this website, HP Deskjet 3520 e-All-in-One Printer Drivers, if you are using Windows 7 or above, it is recommended to use the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows. If you do not know the Operating System you are using, please visit this website. Whatsmyos.
    In the meantime, page 33 of your printer's user guide has all the options of how to connect this printer. User Guide. For the traditional wireless setup you will need a USB printer cable. Otherwise, you can always try Wireless Direct.
    Hope this helps!

    Your profile indicates your Mac is running v10.7.2
    If that is correct, updating your system software may help.
    Click Software Update from the Apple menu.
    Restart your Mac after updates are installed then try the App Store.
    If you can't update that way, there's a workaround.
    Install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)
    Then restart your Mac and try the App Store.

  • Help needed for WiFi connection problem

    Hello
    My wife's iPad2 with current iOS 8.3 sometimes will not connect to Wi-Fi - any ideas on how to correct the problem?
    It's inconsistent!
    Thanks for any thoughts about this.
    David

    If you want to do this in sql you've to use dynamic sql to select only columns having the data.
    And you can always use end user tools like SSRS to display only columns having values by using expression for visibility property.
    Please Mark This As Answer if it helps to solve the issue Visakh ---------------------------- http://visakhm.blogspot.com/ https://www.facebook.com/VmBlogs

                    Can you please help me on how can I achieve this using SSRS.
    Thanks.
    Hi Mutali,
    Personally, I don't recommend using SSRS.
    If you want to design a SSRS report,you should retireve all columns and specify column visibility for each column with following expression.
    =IIF(Fields!SomeFieldValue.Value > 0, True, False)  (Note:Supposing the data type of the field is INT).
    You can refer to the solution as
    Jingyang Li post above.

    Hi all
    I have set up a dial up connection between to PC's at remote site and center. It using ISDN 30B+D which is configured on Router 3845. Currently I have configured authentic connection with username and password using Cisco ACS. To enhance the security configuration I want to authenticate both the phone number which dialup with Cisco ACS. And currently I have not done this. Please help me solve this problem.
    Thanks so much
    Longn

    1) I deleted bridge-utils, netcfg
    2) I edited /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf:
    interface=wlan0
    #bridge=br0
    edited /etc/dnsmasq.conf:
    interface=wlan0
    dhcp-range=192.168.0.2,192.168.0.255,255.255.255.0,24h
    and edited /etc/rc.local:
    ifconfig wlan0 192.168.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0
    ifconfig wlan0 up
    3) I added in autostart these daemons: hostapd, dnsmasq and iptables.
    Profit!

  • Can anyone help me solving this problem with Mail?

    I haven´t being able to send emails with MAIL for two days. I have managed 7 email accounts with 3 different servers for more than 2 years with no problem until last Monday.
    Basically, what I can notice as unusual is this message from Connection Inspector:
    220-We do not authorize the use of this system to transport unsolicited,
    220 and/or bulk e-mail.
    But I have copy/pasted what Connection Inspector says:

    Can anyone help me solving this question with explaination .
    Given:
    11. public String makinStrings() {
    12. String s = ?Fred?;
    13. s = s + ?47?;
    14. s = s.substring(2, 5);
    15. s = s.toUpperCase();
    16. return s.toString();
    17. }
    How many String objects will be created when this method is invoked?
    A. 1
    B. 2
    C. 3
    D. 4
    E. 5
    F. 61 is created at line 13 as a result of StringBuilder.toString().
    1 is created at line 14 as a result of substring().
    1 is created at line 15 as a result of toUpperCase().
    The Strings "Fred" and "47" at lines 12 and 13 are NOT created when that method is invoked. They are created when the class is loaded.
    Note, however, that some of this is based on current implementations, NOT on requirements of the JLS or VM spec, so really, the answers could be different. Overall, it's a poorly thought out question.

    Firmware Update Process
    To safely update FW, I recommend doing the following: Download the FW file from the support site first.
    Disable the auto update feature on the router.
    1. Save router config to file first using IE or FF with all security add-ons disabled.
    2. Factory reset the router with all other devices disconnected or turned OFF accept for 1 wired PC.
    http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?pid=80&app=vw&vw=1&login=1&json=1&docid=9d2ff02077f645679972a...
    3. Reload or Update the FW using IE or FF. Just download the FW file to your local wired LAN PC.
    http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?pid=80&app=vw&vw=1&login=1&json=1&docid=0a6881b90224439b92c8d...
    4. Factory reset the router and then set up from scratch first using the local log in link and test with out loading the saved config from file. Check to see if any problems are fixed before loading the saved config from file. Sometimes you need to set up from scratch with out loading the saved config file. Just safer that way.
    PC Web Browser Configurations
    What browser are you using?
    If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
    Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
    Clear all browser caches.
    Be sure to log into the local log-in account on the router first.

    Hi Danny,
    Per my understanding that you can't get the expect result by using the expression "=Count(Fields!TICKET_STATUS.Value=4) " to count the the TICKET_STATUS which value is 4, the result will returns the count of all the TICKET_STATUS values(206)
    but not 180, right?
    I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, the issue caused by you are using the count() function in the incorrect way, please modify the expression as below and have a test:
    =COUNT(IIF(Fields!TICKET_STATUS.Value=4 ,1,Nothing))
    or
    =SUM(IIF(Fields!TICKET_STATUS=4,1,0))
    If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.
