Help me to maintain my t420 battery

i have t420 i always using laptop in the home but the problem is when remove the battery the performance of t420 drops below 1/4 of it's real perfromance so i want to use full performance of my laptop i want to ask if i set my battery charing when it below 10 % note that i keep the the charger plugin all the time if this make an bad effect of my battery waiting for your adivce plz

are you saying that you set the battery to charge when the level drops below 10%, or are you keeping your battery at around 10% when it is connected to the battery?

T420s battery being discharges even when laptop is closed

So my T420s, even when I close the lid the battery still discharges. I talked to Lenovo help and they said it was the battery but I bought a new one and the problem is still exactly the same. Please help me! Any ideas what to do?

The computer is still on when the lid is closed. If you want it to turn off and not not use power you'll need to shutdown or hibernate with the fingerprint reader (if so equipped) turned off. You could also set it up to sleep, which will still use some power, but not that much.

T420s battery life tips

Hi all T420s user,
I am wonderng if changing to SSD helps for the overall battery life? Currently, my T420s can last 3 hour with the main battery. Any tip to extend the battery life?

Check your browser. If you're using Chrome or a recent version of Firefox, the system will consume extra power. Use IE9 while on battery power if possible.
Put clockres.exe into C:\Windows.

Be on your usual battery workload, and run a command prompt and type ClockRes.
If you see this:
Maximum timer interval: 15.600 ms
Minimum timer interval: 0.500 ms
Current timer interval: 1.000 ms
It means something is lowering the timer interval and consuming extra power. Media players do this out of necessity. Other programs may unnecessarily force this condition.
If you see this:
Maximum timer interval: 15.600 ms
Minimum timer interval: 0.500 ms
Current timer interval: 15.600 ms
You're good in that regard.
Standard CPU usage reduction and disk write reduction applies.

T420 Battery Recall

T420 4180 s/n R8-******* Battery No 11S42T4790Z1ZJPZ1BF05S The recall page will not recognise my laptop ( I think it might be an import from Canada/US ) so I cannot contact Lenovo to register for a replacement battery - I cannot do the automatic because the hard drive crashed last week. so need recovery disc as well. Help please.

Regarding the executable (lenovobattery.exe), can you provide the syntax needed to script in install, record the result, and uninstall this silently. I want to be able to do this on a large number of potentially affected systems without involving users. If a log file or event log entry recorded the result I can take it from there.

About 2 weeks ago I posted about my dying battery here ( http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=584893&tstart=0 ).
At that time it was holding 1800 mAh as maximum capacity.
Yesterday evening I saw a thread where someone reported the same problem, so I posted again there, and at that moment, maximum capacity of my battery was only 1570 mAh.
A few minutes ago, I was using my iBook and suddenly, without the low battery warning, my iBook shut off. It didn't go to sleep, it really shut off because there was no more power on the battery.
When I plugged it in and turned it on, I got the wrong date warning because my iBook went back to Dec 31 1969. So I decided to check maximum capacity again, and it showed unbelievable:
Battery Information:
Battery Installed: Yes
First low level warning: No
Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 1288
Remaining Capacity (mAh): 305
Amperage (mA): 1536
Voltage (mV): 12414
Cycle Count: 187
Yes, only 1288 mAh of maximum capacity.
My battery is dying and dying FAST!
Please, what should I do?
My warranty expired exactly 16 days ago.

Thanks for trying to be so helpful but, as you can see on my profile, I live in Brazil and there's no Apple Store in our country.
The nearest Apple authorized center is 240km away from here and they would never give me a new battery out of warranty. I'm sure about that because they don't have the battery to give me. They would have to send warranty papers to Apple Brasil and ask them for a new one.
I'd really like to find a solution that does not involve replacing the battery.

My PowerBook needs a new PRAM battery but I'm having a heck of a time finding a retailer that has the exact one need for our dear 15" G4 PowerBooks. iFixit lists them but has currently does not have any in stock.

Year old T420, battery capacity at 35%

Is this normal? Computer was purchased in Sept 2011. Sanyo battery reporting 19.76 Wh capacity, with design capacity listed at 56.16 Wh.

not normal, in my experience. i've got a T60p battery that's 5 years old and still at 80+% of design capacity.
i'd recommend that you contact Service and inquire whether a battery replacement is an option. unless you opted for an extension, batteries carry a 1 year warranty.

Please Help! Ipod touch 3rd generation battery & itunes problem

Please Help! My ipod touch 3rd generation has the battery sign come up when it is charging, however after several hours when its suppose to be charging I take out the USB and plug but it says its low battery and how it was when I connected the charger. I dont understand whats happening and why i wont charge up. It was working perfectly fine the other day.
Another thing i have is itunes. My ipod touch wont show up on the itunes, it comes and goes in a flash then it say something about an unknown error and it cannot connect. It feels like nothing is working and this ipod isnt even mine

I just tried resetting the ipod but sadly it still doesnt work. Will it try when its off? Because the USB is not letting the ipod charge.
I do have the plug to go with the USB but it wont work with either the netbook or the wall charger. I was thinking of trying another USB wire and hopfully it would work. What do you think?

T420 vs T420s Battery Life/ Specs

Appreciate any input provided on the differences in specs and battery life between a 6 cell battery on both systems.
Was told the 420s 6 cell would last 6 to 10 hours, and on the initial 100% charge it read 3:50 in time, and after about 15 minutes it read about 4:15. Not sure why this is, but I'd like to do an apples to apples comparison of the two machines given indentical configurations.

to compare the difference in specs.
for the battery consumption, do note that the consumption is based on usage, brightness of screens and other factors.
thus if you would like to do a comparison, both units should be using the same power manager versions and both be at the same settings

T420 battery problem

Hello.
t420 has a laptop in it, older battery has become unfit, bought a new one.
Embed it, but I can not calibrate laptop was included to test the battery for 21 hour ... procedure is still not over ...
in this mode, contains no more than 2 hours.
hanging at the bottom of a warning about changing batteries.
tell me what is necessary carry out the procedure so that it started to work normally.

did you get lenovo battery or generic compatible battery?

Please help. iPhone 5s stuck on 67% battery life.

I Bought my husband a white iPhone 5c yesterday for his birthday. Last night he put it on the charger and it fully charged to 100%. Today, it got down to 67% and hasn't moved since about 2 pm today. It's now 8:39pm. It will show that it ran ouT of battery life and show the screen with the battery and little lightening bolt. When he plugs it up it will turn right back on to 67%. We have tried the reset, (hold home button & lock button) it did not help. Now, we're trying to run it down. And it's actually coming down. We are playing music threw a aux cord, have wifi & Bluetooth on and it jumped to 43%. Does anyone know what causes this ? And what can help it? I feel awful cause I just bought the phone yesterday. And it's already acting up.

It's probably the battery indicator, not the battery itself. Run it down until it shuts down automatically. Ignore any low battery alerts that appear. Then, charge it overnight with the 10W charger. That should clear things for you.

Help with my MBP (Late-2011) battery life~

Hi All,
I just bought this MBP like 2 weeks ago & I found that the battery life is a little short.
Only lasted 3.5-4 hours. In saying that, I'm not doing anything extreme. Only browsing the web and doing some homework on Words & Excel.
If I happened to go on youtube or some video streaming site, the battery life only go as far as 2-2.5 hours.
Is this normal? I'm new to MBP & I'm loving every single bit of it.
I read the description on the website says the battery can last up to 7 hours.
I was wondering if my battery faulty or something? or is it just me?
I have turned down the brightness of the screen to about 40% and keyboard light is at about 20% (just estimate).
Turned off my bluetooth device. What else can I do to make the battery life last longer??
Any tips anyone can share with me?

If you have AppleCare, they will mail you the battery.
If you do not have AppleCare, call Customer Relations 1-800-767-2775. See what they can do for you. CS will determine if your model MBP qualifies for a free battery.

Another thing you can do is to go to System Profiler. Copy/Paste the Power info here. *Do not post any serial numbers.*

T420 battery goes straight to critical.

My battery would randomly go to critical all of a sudden. It goes from 70% then to 5% after an hour of standby. I doubt an hour of standby will drain 65% battery. A couple seconds after resuming from standby, lenovo and windows battery meters shows the sudden drop. I get a warning of critical battery and the computer auto-shuts off.
I don't know why this happens. My drivers are all updated. I reset my battery last month. This battery only has 15 cycle count while my old t61's battery had over 200 and was 4 years old without battery problems. Could it be a possible defective battery? This doesn't happen often but when it happens once every 3 or so weeks, it's extremely annoying.

Does it drain normally if you use it from 70% to 5% or does it also do a sudden jump?
