Help me  transfer from Library  to   specific  iPod

I have new "song" in the itunes.
how to copy this only to the iPod
I do not want to erase what is already
in the ipod ( did this once)

It depends on how the iPod is set up.
If you have it set to automatically transfer everything from iTunes, then just plugging it in will do it. However, it will also delete anything on the iPod that is not in iTunes.
If you have it set to manually manage, just drag the song from iTunes to the iPod's name in iTunes.

  • Help me transfer my library

I just bought a new computer, and I need to transfer my iTunes library using my iPod. I read Apple's article 300173 and followed all of the instructions. However, I could not drop my iTunes folder onto my iPod (in the 'my computer' window). I get an error message that reads "cannot copy files: cannot read from the source file or disk."
Why won't my iTunes folder copy to my iPod? I need help. I talked to Apple support for 2 hours and Dell support for 1 hour, and I still haven't had any luck.

If home sharing isn't working, there's a few other ways to do the move.

  • Slow transfer from externail HD to ipod

Ever since I got my external firewire HD, the transfer from itunes to ipod is unbelievably slow. I searched around the internet and saw posts from 2004 talking about issues they had with iSight and firewire devices in general but no fixes.
I reset my ipod, updated it, reformatted and such but the rates are still slow.
I use my external to house my music library but it takes about 3 seconds to transfer a single song.

    And the workaround is?

  • Transfer of library to replacement iPod mini

How can I transfer my existing iTunes library (currently on iPod mini [1st generation]) to my new replacement iPod (2nd generation)? Do I need to install the disc that came with the new iPod? If I want to install the new disc on my work computer (vs. home where the old is currently installed), can I transfer the library to the other computer?

IPods do not directly transfer Libraries between themselves. I assume that you have a complete iTunes Library on one of the PCs, yes?
Just charge up the new Mini, download the most recent Updater software, install the Updater software, then run it to format the new Mini for windows use. Just connect the Mini to your iTunes and it will sync with the Library.

  • Transfer from library to ipod

I have converted files using Videora and I can click and drag them to my libray and they play fine but when I try to drag them to my ipod they do not transfer.
Sometimes I can't even drag them to the library. What can I do?

  • Restored iPod, now cannot transfer from library???

My iPod had the "exclamation pointand folder" error. I tried reset, retry, bla, bla, bla. Finally had to download the latest version of iTunes and restore my iPod to factory settings. Now it tells me that most of my Library cannot be transferred to my iPod because I'm "not authorized to play them on this computer". I'm using the same computer and the same iPod I've always used. Why can't I download my library???

You'll probably need to authorize your iTunes store account for transferring iTunes Store purchases to your iPod.

The problem is when I am transferring songs onto Ipod it is terribly slow and finally gives me an error stating "The disk cannot be read or written too", what the **** does that mean? So I removed my itunes and reinstalled it this was working grate till I got about 600 songs on and then it began having the same issues, I dont know if I showed just try and reinstall my itunes again or what?

  • Loaded iTunes 11 to a new computer, library showed all of my songs.  Synched my nano 5th gen and lost 2/3 of my songs.  Dragged all from library to "Daves iPod" and it still won't add them.  What's wrong??

I've tried to manually manage my account, then also "transfer only checked songs ..." and it still wants to clear my iPod.  I had close to 200 songs on it originally but it now only has about 53.  All of the others I can see in my library but I cant get them to transfer.  What am I missing or doing wrong?

To make sure I'm reading this thread correctly, are you saying that only the music files were stored on the hard drive, not the .itl or .xml files?  If that is correct, then you likely won't be able to recover your library.  You'll either need to restore from backup or re-create manually.  The only other thing to check is to see if there is potentially a .itl file saved on your external hard drive?

  • Help needed - transfer from Mac to Windows PC

    Hello All,
Need assistance regarding setting up an ipod touch that I recently purchased. The device was purchased from an individual that used a Mac for syncing. I will be using a Windows PC. How do I go get the ipod to recognize the PC now? Also, the person I purchased the device from has a load of good music and movies loaded. Is there any way I can copy these first (onto my hard-drive) before syncing with my PC (I am afraid that I PC would delete everything that is currently stored on the ipod as I may need to reset it). If not possible to copy the files onto my PC first, could I possibly copy on any other Mac?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Best wishes.

On the IPT, go to Settings > General > Reset and clear all settings. Have the current version of iTunes on your PC. Plug in. In iTunes, select the IPT and use the Restore function to return the IPT to the factory state.

Handing the 10-foot pole that I wouldn't use to touch this (quite illegal) issue to the next person to post in this thread...although it may be deleted before then.

  • Copying music from Library to my ipod..

My library is full of music but i cant work out how to put it to my ipod!
Im so confused!! Can someone please tell me?

Have you read the User's Guide for your model of iPod? The user's guide provides very complete information on how to get content onto an iPod.
    http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipod
If after reading the manual you still have questions, post back with details as to exactly where things seem to be going wrong, or what you don't understand, and I'm sure folks here can help.
