Help me, why can't I install Lion??

Really hoping someone can help me.
I currently have Snow Leopard version 10.6.8. I've just tried to buy the new Lion 10.7.2 but every time it tries to install a message flashes up saying i'm not connected to the internet and to check the connection and try again. Well I am clearly connected to the internet (via wi-fi), so i have no idea what I can do to rectify this.
Any ideas? Pleas? As i'm about to cry.

Please, don't assume I'm stupid. It is a 2.16 core2duo. It is not a core duo.

Also, it runs Lion with no problem from an external disk. I'm running an install attempt now from an external drive. I tried upgrading the drive to lion before installing it in the MB Pro, but when I tried to boot from it, it booted to the Apple screen with the progress bar like when you update firmware which froze after awhile. I repartitioned the drive and started over again.
It is is partioned correctly.

Why can't I install lion recovery?

So I had a problem with find my mac and as told to install "Mac OSX Lion Recovery Update v1.0" (see here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1464)
Anyway when I came to install this on my selected partition (Macintosh HD) I was presented with the following error "Lion recovery update cannot be installed on this disk. An error occurred while evaluating JavaScript for the package"
Does anyone know why this has happened? And also how to fix it?

P.S. I have 3 partitions on my HDD, one is Macintosh HD, another is Bootcamp (which i created using the bootcamp installer) and the last is just a FAT partition.

It sounds as if you don't have a functioning Recovery HD now, probably because of the altered partitioning. Is your Mac capable of Lion Internet Recovery without a Recovery HD? Some recent (2010?) Macs that originally shipped with Snow Leopard were offered an EFI firmware update for this.
If not, and if you don't want to erase and restore your internal HD, the other option in the linked support article was to install and keep a Recovery HD partition on a different volume than your internal HD:
You can also use the OS X Lion installer from the Mac App Store to create an external bootable drive, complete with a Recovery HD partition. See this article for more details. This approach will, at least, create a bootable drive with Recovery HD which you can carry with you in case you need to use Internet Restore or make use of the other utilities Recovery HD provides.
Once you have the Recovery HD as part of a new Lion installation on an external drive, you might be able to transfer just the Recovery HD from there onto a USB flash drive as described here:

I don't know if all this is any better than the first option of reinstalling everything on the HD.

Why can´t I install Lion on my mcbook air

I can not install OS X Lion on my MacBook Air. It say "You need 3.78 GB of available space to download Mac OS X 10.7. Remove items from your startup disk to increase available space" What to do?

Open a Finder window, select the MBA's hard drive/SSD, and Get Info on the drive (Command-I or from the File menu). Look for the "available" figure. If it's below ca. 5GB, then you need to do exactly what the instructions say; delete enough from your hard drive to get sufficient space.
If you have more than 5GB, particularly signficantly more, post back and we'll go from there.

Help! Why can't I install?

Just started from scratch again with my computer (grrrr!) and it says I need to update Adobe Reader. This goes fine until the last minute when it says I still have Windows process 340 running and to close it. I can find nothing open at all! Does anyone know what this is, so I can install ok? I spent the better part of a day trying to get iTune to come up after downloading Version 8. All sorts of problems. Finally gave up. Computer said it was there but I could not access. Two days later (Today) I decided to "download" one more time. HOORAY, it didn't freeze and finally - I got a screen that said "REPAIR....." or "UNINSTALL..." I clicked in the REPAIR! It did its thing and I am now in business.
I can't explain why this worked today and not the other days, but worked it did. I have now synced my iPod.

You have a Macbook Pro, not a desktop Mac Pro and, since yours is a 2011, it should install.
How much RAM do you have?
And how much empty hard drive space?
Did you get the machine new or did you buy it used with Lion installed?

Mountain Lion already has the most recent, updated version of AirPort Utility installed on your Mac. The version on your CD is out of date, so you can trash the CD.
Look in Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility.

10.6.6 was the 1st to support the App Store, 10.6.8 is actually needed now as a minimum.
Install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.(10.9/Mavericks is the only download available now without specially calling Apple).

Why can't I install Snow Leopard on my videos hard drive?

I have a Mac Pro with four hard drives. Lion is on the primary drive but I need Snow Leopard for a legacy app. My plan is to install Snow Leopard on a hard drive that I use for video projects, and then restart from that drive when I need to use the old app. The problem is that the Snow Leopard installation disk says that it can't install onto the videos hard drive unless I partition the hard drive, which will erase all the data. Why can't it install onto the videos hard drive? There's no operating system on that hard drive. The hard drive has folders for Final Cut Express Projects, iMovie Events, iMovie Projects, DVDs movies I've ripped, a folder of music, and an iDVD project. What do I need to remove to enable installing Snow Leopard?

If I understand what you are saying you have a drive with "stuff" already on it and you want to install a version of OSX on to it while still retaining that "stuff". If that's what you want to do you cannot do that mainly because there's already "stuff" on that drive.
The only way you can do this is to either of the following:
a. Copy the "stuff" off that drive to another drive. Install the OS. Copy the "stuff" back on to the newly created boot drive.
b. Copy the "stuff" off that drive on to another drive. Partition the drive into at least 2 partitions; one for the boot and one for the "stuff". Install the OS into one of the partitions. Copy the "stuff" back to the other partition.
Either way, if you want to use that disk for a boot disk, you got to get that "stuff" out of the way to do the OSX install on to that disk.

If you can't get any software updates, there is something wrong and I would suggest reinstalling Lion.
What errors do you get when you try to install the updates?
What is the build number of Lion. Look in About this Mac and click on the version number.

However, because you reminded me to have another go at this problem, i tried something else (which i'd unsucsessfuly tried before), that is, i deleted the 'CLICK & SAVE " a/c i'd set up recently, and reverted to my previous payment me and would you know it , this time it worked !! I set up a trail purchase and it worked.
