It's possible install Designer and Repository in a same box with WinXP Professional???

Yes, it is possible as I installed Designer and the Repository (DS 9i Release 2) both on Windows XP Professional and on the same computer.
Beware that the Repository installation takes significant space, so you need to ensure that the various data file are large enough. For example, I required about 300 MB of space for the temporary tables associated with the SCM.

I bought a new computer with Windows 7. I tried t
o install Flash CS3 Professional and Premiere Pro CS3
. both seemd to install fine (no error messages) but after installation neither software would open.
I called support and she told me I must have installed them incorrectly and told me to re-insta
ll it using a different log in. When my computer froze up during the second install, she hung up on me. Can anyone help?

More information on your HP would be helpful.
Also, when you did the installation, did you first turn off all AV, pop-up blocking and spysweeping software?
Do you have your Firewall, and the Win7 Security measures turned off?
Have you updated to the latest Flash Player?
Are you installing to C:\? The exact destination folder is not important, but being on your C:\ is.
Did you ever have a trial version of PrPro on your computer? If you did, you will want to uninstall the current attempted installation, if you can, run the Adobe Clean Script CS3 a few times, maybe followed by a good Registry cleaner, like CCleaner, and then install as Administrator, with the above considerations.
After you have attempted to install, have you gotten any error, or warning messages? Those could be very important. Please post the complete text of any.

Help please with CS3 installation glitch

G'day all,
Have upgraded my DW8 to DW CS3 on a P4 machine, 1 Gb RAM,
running WinXP SP2.
All went swimmingly. "Bonjour" started annoying my firewall,
so I removed it as per Adobe's instructions (I am on a stand-alone
machine not using versioning control, so figured I didn't need it).
For whatever reason, it killed my WinSock services ("Unable to
initialize Windows Socket services, error code 0" whenever I tried
to connect to my ISP).
I did a System Restore to prior to the DWCS3 installation,
and the WinSocks problem appears to have been resolved.
But now: Dreamweaver won't re-install.
If I launch the installation it goes through the "extracting
files" routine, and launches the "Adobe Installer" ... the gauge on
that runs through to the end, and then the installation routine ...
simply goes away. It doesn't launch the actual installation window
for Dreamweaver, and nothing more happens.
I've looked in Task Manager, but the installation isn't
listed in the "Applications" window and there are no listings in
the "Processes" window that would appear to be related to the Adobe
installer. It's all just stopped.
Can anyone suggest a resolution to this, please ?

Thanks so much for your help! It did the trick.
My next stop would, of course, have been Tech Support ...
it's just that this glitch happened, as these things always seem
to, perhaps according to some arcane law of the Universe, just past
the close of business hours on Friday afternoon, and I had really
been hoping to spend some time getting up to speed on the new
version over this weekend just gone. (It's now the wee hours of
Monday morning here in eastern Australia.)
I never had any of the Beta versions, or demo versions for
that matter, but I gather from reading your comments that it was
the installation routine baulking at the presence of directories
that remained after my system restore, which didn't give me the
option of uninstalling the app. (In hindsight, I might have thought
to uninstall DW before the System Restore, but the whole business
wasn't a problem with DW so much as an attempt to tame the
"Bonjour" utility.)
If the mere presence of pre-existing folders is enough of a
hiccough to make the installation routine fail, perhaps Adobe
should consider amending the installation script to provide the
same facilities some other vendors' apps offer: with Corel, for
instance, if a previous installation is detected, the script gives
the option to "remove" or "repair" the previous installation before
a new full install. It would help also, from my perspective, if
they gave more information about "Bonjour", and preferably made it
an optional part of the installation.

Help Needed With Font Installation

I just received a specialty font from a design group. It is a .suit file. I need help installing. When I double click it, it opens in text edit, not font book. I have sent it to two friends running 10.5 and for them it opens in font book no problem. Is there something I am not doing? I am running 10.6.4 on a Mac Pro Quad-Core. I am waiting to hear from the design group, but I am wondering if anyone has had this problem.

Problems with designer installation

When installing designer I get the following
error message
netc80.map(0) - FILE NOT FOUND while
activating netc80 mapping
and the installation would not go on.

I have just posted an answer to my problem on a "more like this" discussion that I found on Apple Support Communities. So far I have managed to install iTunes and QuickTime in the way b noir suggests on this post.
It is early days but so far so good.

Help please with apache installation problem!!!

1)I installed Oracle9i Enterprise Edition.
2)I installed Oracle9iAS standart Edition in separate Home.
3)Apache HTTP and SSL server servicecould not start.
I've got 3 errors:

It looks like you have done an installation into a directory that previously contained 9iAS too.
Look for a file named oracle_apache.conf. It is likely that a line with mod__ose.conf is mentioned twice - remove one line. Save the file. This will solve part of the problem.
What leaves, your error "1" might indicate that the service was not created because during your prev install it was not removed correctly.
The installation might contain more errors. Consider uninstalling the software, remove the ORACLE_HOME and services and do a reinstall...

Urgently help required with 9i installation

I am running on win2000 and have installed the Oracle9i Lite mobile server and development kit. I also have JDK1.3 on my machine (if that's relevant).
When firing up SQLPlus and entering the username SYSTEM and pw Manager plus odbc:polite - I get the following error message:
ORA-03121 no interface driver connected - function not performed
I was wondering if anyone out there could help me. I have scoured this board for a solution but have not found one.
You cant tell me that no-one in the world runs 9iLite on 2000. I have tried this on 2 PCs and both have the same problem.
I am getting very behind with my studies! :(

If you want to connect to a Oracle9i Lite database, you should use the tool msql. For example:
msql system/x@jdbc:polite
Make sure you have the olite40.jar file in your CLASSPATH. The default location for this file is:
OracleHome\Mobile\Classes\olite40.jar
You cannot use SQLPlus to connect to a Lite database.

I am planning to install MI 2.5, which i havent performed before.
Can any one help me. are there any pre-installation to be done, like upgrading kernel Patch, right now kernel patch its 52 for Kernel 700.
and do i have to upgrade any other patches.

2) Installed ABAP + Java and selected MI during installation
what is the next step i have to perform,

Help need with Tomcat installation

I am trying to install Tomcat version 5 on Windows 98 machine. I set the environment variables by opening system configuration utility (i.e., running msconfig) -AutoExec.bat then NEW and I typed the path to CANTALINA_HOME . But, still I am getting error saying that CANTALINA_HOME environmnet variable is not properly. Can anybody please help me???

Help needed with design decision

I have this application i'm working on which is very modular. All most every action carried out from the system requires searching for a customer. Now i don't want to have to display the search customer on every page just to carry out a subsequent action. Is there any better ways of doing it?

If the value of customer does not change, then store it in a session variable, this will remain available for later use.
If the customer does change, put your search form in a separate jsp and use a file include, or a jsp include to call it into all pages that require a search bar, thus you only have to code it once.
