Help me with making photo fold

I have already read the FAQ and I am still not "getting it" I want to combine all my photos into one folder and I am having problems doing that. I must need a better description than what the FAQ provides. If anyone is able to help me let me know.
By the way I have just gotten a Zen Vision M.

If you have a pc, when you plug your iPad in you should see the windows pop up window offering to backup the photos. Do that and it will save all your photos and videos to your computer where you can then sync them back to your new one.
If the pop up doesn't come up, double click on my computer and navigate your way to the iPad. Double cick on it an d navigate to the DCIM folder. Drag your photos and videos to your pc, then sync them back onto your iPad.

Please can kind person help me with uploading photos, not showing in finder!

Please can any kindly souls offer advice at this busy time... I am trying to create a last-minute personalised gift for a beloved brother but have not yet succeeded in uploading my photos from this page:

I know it should be easy but when I hit upload and select my "photos" from drop down menu on left, there all my photos except the ones I carefully edited, saved and flagged in iPhoto earlier this evening- I have checked in iPhoto and they are still there, all flagged etc but not showing in finder. (grr!)
So I opened menu from iPhoto and clicked "make visible in Finder" option, saved them with distinctive names but they are still not coming up when I search those file names..
Please what else can I do?

You never access your photos in iPhoto using the finder - the iPhoto application totally replaces the finder for photos when you use it - you can select the photos in iPhoto and export to a desktop folder (see Exporting From iPhoto for export options) or you use the media browser available in every open/upload/attach window on the left under media==> photos ==> iPhoto - see How to Access Files in iPhoto for more details

HELP me with my Photos

I just upgraded to Maverick and I lost all my pics in iPhoto or anywhere on my mac. I upgraded iPhoto but still no pics. Also all of my docs are gone. I have them on backup on an external drive.
I don't know why this happened. Man I had like over 1500 pics and about 400 from a very recent trip to NYC.
Thanks for any help there might be.

Help me with my Photo woes!

Hi I'm not sure if there is a thread to this already, but here's my issue: I have the iPhone 3GS and I just downloaded the new update (the 4.0 software) and now my camera and photos are all messed up. When I go to take a picture or a video it freezes; when I open up Photos, I cannot get into the Camera Roll or the Photo Library. I downloaded other apps in order to take pictures and videos, but am unable to look at them. I couldn't find anything under Troubleshooting that I thought would help me on this site, I'm just really hoping someone knows what I should do. Please help if you can! Thanks!

I'm assuming you tried to get it in the rescue mode and reboot it from there? If not, try that. If that doesn't work you may need to reload the firmware or something along those lines. If you can't even get to the rescue mode then the hard dri've in your microphoto may have choked and it's time to return it or have it repaired if it's under warranty. Try contacting creative though first as they may have some other solution for you.
If you don't know how to get to the rescue mode on your microphoto, see the thread up at the top of the first page of the forum called "How do I access Rescue Mode/Recovery Mode on my player?"

Help needed with a watch folder

good morning,
Im doing a workbench process to remove my paswords and extended privs on a given PDF and then send the final copy to my desktop.
Right now i have it working except for the part where i want the watchFolder to dump the result on my desktop.
Can i do that from workbench, sending a result to the desktop?
Thechically i would like for anyone using this process to endup with a copy of that PDF (all striped down) on their desktop.
right now i have it set to "result/" and going in that folder, i can see that PDF i need. I was wondering if i can send the result to the desktop instead.

Not sure about the feasibility of putting it on desktop but your watched folder could be a network(shared) folder which could be accessed by all on the network.

Why when someone calls or you calling
a contact photo shows on full screen and sometimes in the circle on the top?
How does it work?

Contact photos, assigned directly on your phone, will appear full size. Those assigned using a computer or other source will appear as thumbnails.

I am new to using the E2. Recently went on the Palm site and downloaded what I thought was a version of the updated software onto my laptop. I am unalbe to found the CD that came with my E2. Did have the Media logo on the old version of desktop from when I first downloaded the CD, now it is gone. I am hoping to be able to use the E2 for a trip for maps and infomation.

AIM is a somewhat separate part of AOL.
They have their Own Registration Page
It is labelled AOL but you will notice the full name bit lists @AIM.com
Choose a User name and check that it is not in use already
You will need to supply an email for verification and password recovery plus answer some security questions as you set up the Screen Name.
Once confirmed put the detail in iChat
iChat Menu > Preferences > Accounts > Press the + icon lower Left and use the AIM option in the top line on the new Screen/Pane
Although it will look like you have created a Name that is [email protected] you will not need the @aim.com bit in iChat.
Add the details to the pane and click DONE
You can now add your sister's Screen Name to your Buddy list.
Double click to Chat if she is showing as On line.

I'm having trouble with my photos folder when i sync my iPhone4 to computer i dont know how to upload the photos off my phone into my computer. I dont want them to go into Adobe Photos. Is there somewhere else they can go. Also when that little window pop up for photos i dont know which one to choose please help!!

Strange update. Now the ipad3 (looking at usage directly on the ipad) shows the correct GB used and free, but itunes still shows that my 64GB ipad is almost full. Because of this, i tunes wont allow me to add other music, photos, etc.

How do I click and drag photos to folder with mouse to folder of my choice?. Simple but I can't do it. Goes to folder of ITS choice.

I click on a photo in events and keeping the mouse button depressed I drag the photo to the folder of the left, but a new folder opens with the photo. It doesn't place the photo into the folder that I have already created. What am I doing wrong? I see the green plus sign and place it in the folder of my choice, but the new folder opens with the photo in it. Please help me here.

Folders don't hold photos in iPhoto. Photos go in Events or Album.
Folders can contain other folders or Albums.

The digitization of data has introduced a complexity to our interactions with it that we continue to struggle with. "Picture" and "Photo" now mean different things in different contexts. You record a set of instantaneous data with a camera.
That data is processed by your camera and saved to a file.
The file format is usually either RAW or JPG.
You transfer those files to your computer, and you import them into the program Aperture (often in one operation).
From each camera-file imported, Aperture creates a record in its database (called, imho unhelpfully, a Library) and an Image that you see in the Aperture Browser and Viewer.
Aperture links the Image and the imported file.
The imported file is called, within Aperture, an Original.
Every Image has an Original.
The Image is not the Original. The Image is what you see in Aperture.
The Original is a file that is stored on your computer.
You can make changes to an Image.
Aperture calls these changes Adjustments.
Adjustments are saved to another file attached to the record in the database. Let's call this file the Changes File.
Aperture uses these two files attached to the record in the database to create the Image.
Image = Original + Changes File.
The Image is not a file.
Because the Image is not a file, it cannot be shared with other programs. It exists only inside of Aperture.
In order to share an Image with another program, you must first create a file of the Image.
You do this by exporting Images ("File ▹ Export ▹ Version" is the command in Aperture; should be, imho, "File ▹ Export ▹ Image").
You may ask, "Why all the complexity? Why doesn't Aperture save Images as files?" The answer is simple: Images can require less — and in many cases very very much less — storage space than files of Images. Rather than save a full-size file for every Image, Aperture saves only instructions on how to make that full-size file. The gain in storage efficiency is huge. The trade-off is that although your Images are always available to be made into share-able files, you must create those files when needed (which you do by exporting selected Images).

No, there is not. Images exist only in Aperture, and are not accessible for use in other programs. You must create, for each Image in your Aperture Library, a new file outside of your Aperture Library in order to use it with another program.
Aperture does allow you to create and save within your Library share-able files of your Images. These files are called Previews. You specify the file parameters in Aperture Preferences on the Previews tab. These files are available to other programs via the OS X Media Browser. These files are what you get when you drag selected Images out of the Aperture program and drop them on another program or on your desktop (which is part of the Finder).

HELP! Gray Screen & File Folder with Question Mark!

If anyone can offer suggestions or if you've dealt with this before I would love feedback so that we can fix this problem!
I recently converted my husband from a PC user to a Mac user (it was a happy day). A little over 1 month ago we bought a brand new 20" iMac and since then everything has gone quite smoothly, he's even said how happy he is with the switch!
Then yesterday morning as I lay sleeping in the other room a noise similar to dial up internet woke me. I went into the office to find the internet up on the screen of our iMac, Firefox wouldn't shut down so I tried force quitting, but that too did not work. Finally I pushed the power button, and went back to bed.
A few hours later as I went to check my email I powered on the iMac and got a gray screen. Nervous, I turned if off, and then back on in safe mode. I still got a gray screen but now with a file folder with a question mark inside flashing at me. Thankfully we're within the 1yr. warrenty so we took it back and they're diagnosing the problem....but I'm worried about the outcome.
Has anyone else had this problem? What was the result? What caused it? We save most everything onto external hard drives (thankfully!) so it's not as if the machine was being overloaded. It kept making that weird dial up noise too... kind of a bleeb, fans running, trying to work noise. Obviously my husband isn't so thrilled with Macs now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Welcome to Discussions - you have an intel iMac, and this is the PPC G5 forum, but even so, I would first advise you to buy Apple Care before then first year of ownership is up.
Then, I would remind you that all electronics will fail at some point, but the exact point is unknown and sometimes is much sooner than it should be. It would be interesting to hear from you what the exact failure was, there do not seem to be many reports of intel power supply failures, that seems to have been fixed since the era of the G5s.
The flashing question mark is usually a sign that the hard drive has failed and drives can fail at any point, yours may simply have some bad sectors; it could also be the logic board and again, they fail, but usually not within the first three years. Your machine may have been defective to begin with, it certainly doesn't sound as if you have been abusing it, so do please let us know what the ultimate diagnosis was.
