Help menu appears when dialogue box dismissed

I use CS3 on both OS10.4 and 10.5. I have noticed lately that when I dismiss a dialogue box or if it closes itself (eg the print dialogue box), the help menu appears. In addition, the cursor moves to another area of the screen. In order to continue working, I have to click away from the menu, which then closes and I can proceed. This happens with PS & ID in CS3 and ID in CS2. Is there a conflict somewhere (between mouse driver -- in this case Logitech --and CS for example?). Can anyone help please? Thank you.

I upgraded to the latest release of quicktime yesterday and now when I open QT the help menu appears twice at the top. Has anyone else seen this?

Exactly the same thing happend to me. I posted it on this forum the other day, I was adivised to upgrade my DivX component to version 6, and this got rid of my double help menu's.
Very strange, but it did the trick!

and password when trying to play video.
I believe this menu began appearing after installing IE 7.0.
Is it therefore a IE 7 issue, or IIS authentication setting, or do
I need to reinstall flash or shockwave? Another question, and very
basic... how do I know if i am using flash or shockwave?
I have googled this and cannot find a similiar case.

Well, the answer is going to depend on your network setup. If
you're a home user on a single machine then I'd check your firewall
settings. Or contact your ISP to see if they've implemented any
kind of proxy that requires authentication.
If you're in a network environment then hit your IT guys to
see if they're blocking the FLV file format, or blocking RTMP
streams, or requiring proxy authentication or something like
that.

CS3 Help Menu "Move Items" Dialog Box

CS 3.0.1, WinXP Pro. When I open the Help menu, I get a dialog box called "Move Items." It lists folders and says, "Select the place where you want to move 'help.html' then click the Move button." I click Cancel, it comes up again, I hit Cancel, and the html Help file opens. I recently hit the Move button, and had to repair the installation to get Help to work again. Must that dialog box come up?

Thanks Peter. However, the Move button blanks out when I choose that folder (which makes sense). If I move it somewhere else, Dr. Watson Postmortem shuts down and everything locks up or Help no longer works. Guess I'll just live with the infinitesimal inconvenience of the situation as is. I rarely use the Help menu, so it's not a big deal.

Help Menu Quits when using Internet Connect

When a new user account (with admin. priveleges) is opened, the help menu functions perfectly. After connecting to the Internet (modem) the help menu will not function. (can't get any response on any underlines or ? window). I've tried the file deletions suggested in theXlab document, checked the internet connection using "ping' report with no luck. No 3rd party add-ons. I can use any program and return to help and it is operable, until I connect to the internet.
To again get to help, I must create a new user account. This restores the help for tryouts until invoking internet connect. Using OSX 10.4.5. Any suggestions. Apple phone support is referring this to some tech support person.
Am I alone with this problem???

Computer freezes when dialogue box comes up

For example, when I went to Tools/Clear history, and dialogue box came up asking for time frame. I cannot x out, cancel, minimize or choose an option. I have to ctrl/alt/del. Happens for every dialogue box I get on internet as well.

Safari favourites menu appears when searching...

Basically, whenever I carry out a search using the omni bar in my MBA the favourites menu pops back up even though Google has loaded in the background. I have to click outside of the menu so I can see the search results...
Anyone got any ideas?

Yes, the OS. Have you installed any Safari extensions? If so try turning them off.

Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

[Solved] Annoying context-menu appears when pressing ctrl+c

This is really getting on my nerves - whenever I highlight an url and press ctrl+c, instead of copying to clipboard this weird context menu appears.
No idea why this happens, but I want it to go away... This is not only in firefox, but system-wide (on gnome). Anyone knows what this is?

Secret confirmation questions do not appear in dialogue box

When trying to buy an app Apple asks for identity verification but when the Secret Questions Confirmation dialogue appears there are no questions?

How do i just have the main MENU appear when DVD opened in player?

i'm doing a DVD in iDVD08 & when i burn it & try in a DVD player the first movie starts playing automatically whereas i want just the main menu to come up showing all the submenus available. can someone tell me how to do this as i can't find any info in help files & an iLIFE manual i own.

i have tried to delete the first square (the greyed one that says "drag content here to automatically play when the disc is inserted) as i surmised this might be the thing to do to bring up the main menu first but iDVD 08 won't let me delete it?

im trying to download my free copy of Ted when i purchased the blu ray copy, and i cant seem to get it to download, i seem to have it, i run windows 7 and use itunes most current version as well. i try to download it and i get a window that pops up and says: You have already purchased this item. You have already purchased this item but it has not been downloaded. To download it, select Check For Available Downloads from the Store menu.
after that i just don't know where to goe, where available downloads are located in the store, i look up the movie and it just says to purchase, i already have so i just need to downloade my copy, any help or advice?

Have custom menu appear when key is pressed?

Is it possible to have a custom menu, with 5 items, appear, next to the mouse, when the user hits, for example, the "T" key?
I've thought about adding buttons to the context (right click) menu, but having my own menu would be even better.
(Is that what popUpMenuEX does?)

It's pretty much what I specified:
- Form fields (various types of events)
- Links (click only)
- Bookmarks (click only)
- Page open
- Page close
- Document open
- Document will close
- Document will print
- Document did print
- Document will save
- Document did save
- Application launch
I think that about covers it...

No export dialogue box/save as box when exporting/saving.

I have a project sent over from FCP and when I go to export it, it won't export... in fact, the export dialogue box doesn't appear to give me any options on exporting. I choose > File > export > export mix... nothing comes up.
Same thing with the Save As feature, no finder box opens.
I did just recently upgrade to the 1.1 system, the total crossgrade 5.1 package.
Any ideas?

Help Menu won't Appear

When I try to pull up "Mac Help" in Finder, it will not appear. It starts to load, and the white box appears, but then quickly disappears. The Help Menu appears in Safari, iTunes, and iPhoto, but not in Finder. I am sure the solution is simple, but I need help!

Apologies if this has been addressed. I did search first, but terms like "Help menu" just pull up hundreds of unrelated threads.
I've got an issue with ID5.0.2 (CS3) and Mac OS10.5.3. (Quad core MacPro 2.66ghz/2TB/16GB RAM)
The Help menu expands every time I switch to the application. I have an open document, move to Illustrator, move back to ID > Help menu appears. This happens every single time.
I'm curious of other users have experienced this issue.
I'm was thinking it was an issue with the FontAgentPro 4 plug ins or some other plug in. But I've removed all non-standard plug ins, relaunched, and the issue persists.
Anyone have any idea?
