HELP! Microsoft Project 2013 on windows RT with Lenovo Yoga 11

Hello, I recently purchased a brand new Lenovo yoga 11. I tried downloading Microsoft Project 2013 via dreamspark, but I get stuck when I try to install secure download manager. It says "the app you are trying to run is not supported on this version of windows". What can I possibly do about this? Thanks.

Dear Babi
Welcome in Lenovo forums
It seems that the version you are trying to install are not compatible with the installed windows (RT) , so please try to contact the service provider for ( Microsoft Project 2013 ) to get the applicable one
Thanks

    Hi,
I have Microsoft Lync 2013 and Microsoft Project 2013.
Can anyone send me the steps to integrate these two so that i can get the updates from the team members without leaving Microsoft Project?

The integration with Lync is not supported in Project Standard only in Pro & Web App:

  • Can't Create PDF from Microsoft Projects 2013

I am trying to PDF a Microsoft Projects 2013 files.  I've tried print PDF and save as PDF but both options give me a pop up window that says "Creating Adobe PDF" with a progress bar displayed with 3 blue bars filled.  I leave it that way for about an hour and nothing happens.  I've tried updating the Adobe Acrobat and Repairing it in the Programs and Features menu.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Thanks for the prompt response.  I don't know how to print-to-file and open the file in Distiller.  The printing as PDF doesn't even work.  It gives me the "Creating PDF" pop up window to which there is no end to. (see photo above)  As for updating to version XI, my colleagues who are running Acrobat X Standard with MS Projects 2013 do not have a problem at all when printing.  I want to avoid upgrading if version X is still usable.  Any other thoughts?

  • Microsoft Project 2013 trial 64-bit download file is corrupt

I downloaded the 64-bit trial version of Microsoft Project 2013, but when I try to burn the .img file to a DVD, I get the message: "The selected disk image file isn't valid."
When I use winrar to expand the file and then run setup.exe, i get the message "Setup cannot continue because a required file is either corrupted or not available."
I've repeated the download several times, each time with the same result.
(The 32-bit version downloaded fine, and I was able to burn it to DVD, but it's not the version I need to install.)
My OS is Windows 7 Professional.
    Any ideas?

    Hi FKA-PBR,
Sorry you are having issues.  I managed to download OK from
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/hh973401.aspx and extracted without any issues and could run setup .  Worth deleting what you have downloaded before just in case it is trying to over-write something.  If it happens again then
getting logs from you might help establish what it thinks is broken.
    Best regards,
    Brian

  • Cannot install Microsoft Project 2013 Trial

    Hi everyone,
I'm having a nightmare trying to install the Microsoft Project 2013 trial. I've read various forum posts, but can anyone give me a basic step by step guide to installing the trial!!!! I keep getting an .img file which does not open anything relevant! all
i want is a microsoft project icon to click on...please!!!!!!!!!

    Matt --
I think your question is the most repeated question in this public user forum.  Most people download the Microsoft Project 2013 trial version and expect to find an EXE file, which is not what you get.  Instead, for some reason only known to Microsoft,
you end up with an IMG file.
To install the software, you have the choice of burning it to a disk, or you can use third party software to unzip the contents of the IMG file.  I have opted for the second choice, and used the free software from 7-Zip.  If you use the 7-Zip software,
you can unzip the contents to a folder, and then run the EXE file you will find in the folder.  And no, I do not work for 7-Zip; I have used their software successfully and like it.  Hope this helps.

  • Microsoft Project 2013 Cash Flow Reports

Whilst I read many positive comments regarding the enhancements to Microsoft Project 2013.  I can't help but find myself frustrated that simple processes seem to have disappeared!  All I want to do is access a Cash Flow Report that will tell
me how much cash is required every week.  In Microsoft Project 2010 this was a simple matter of running a Cash Flow Report and reading the requirements from an easy to view table structure.  Select the Project Tab / Reports / Costs / Cash Flow.
Using Microsoft Project 2013 I get a lovely looking chart to view but really no useful information to view!  Can anyone help please, surely there must be an easy way of doing this in 2013?  Am I missing something?

Thanks for replying.  I'm trying to use the View Reports function. Report Tab / View Reports Group / Costs / Cash Flow. Didn't really want to go out to Excel.  Its complicated, we actually use MSP 2010.  However I am evaluating MSP2013 in
a Virtual Computer Window on the same computer.  Am unable to run Visual Reports as there is some problem I dont understand "Building Local OLAP Cubes" which stops Excel form generating the Visual Report.
Back to the problem, I cannot see the purpose of the MSP 2013 Cash Flow Report if all the report gives you is Name, Remaining Cost, Actual Cost, Cost, ACWP, etc.  I dont think that really provides useful Cash Flow indicators.

  • Microsoft Project 2013

Hello. I am very new to Microsoft Project and only have been using it for about a week or so. I am creating a timeline and there is no indication that there is any error with my timeline. But my start and finish dates are not right, but the duration is correct.
I have my duration as 200 days. My start date is 10/15/2013. My end date, however, is 2 years ahead and is 6/7/2015. The duration between those two dates is 600 days, when the project is only supposed to be 200 days. I somehow have a 400 day gap, which I have
no idea how that happened. I could really use some help. I have been trying to fix this for hours. If it helps, my schedule is:
    Default start time: 12:00 AM
    Default end time: 12:00 AM
    Hours per day: 24
    Hours per week: 168
    Days per month: 30
and I have a fixed duration and my work is entered in days.
Also, I have weekends as working days, so I have a 7 day work week.
    Help would be most appreciated!!

  • Microsoft Project 2013 Installation failure Exit code 259

    Hello guys,
I encountered an issue regarding the Project 2013 installation.  It always gives the Exit code 259. I checked the meaning of 259, it means
    No more data is available.
Does any body see the same/similare problem?
I also seeking a parameter which could allow me to create the log for Project2013 installation, thus maybe some helpful infor could be provided in the log. The source files is as below,
    Any help is appreciated.
    Ethan.

Project? It looks like it's a folder for Visio 2013. Maybe you have upload the wrong screenshot?
And what's the files like Passive.MSP and Passive_orig.MSP?
Also check if there are other files in the updates folder, if they didn't create anything, just empty the
updates folder (back up first), and try to run setup again.
Meanwhile, by default, Office (Project) will create log files in the \Temp folder during setup. The log files have names that are similar to
    SetupExe(201304251107012350).log
Other than that, we can also use the Process Monitor to capture the real time info during the setup:

  • Microsoft Project 2013 - Finish-date drop-down arrow

When I enter a finish date with year at 2000, 2001, ... and beyond, then click the right drop down arrow, to adjust the date via., calender view, the calender view is at 2079.  I have no
idea why it jumps forward 79 years, but obviously it makes it impractical to use the calender view to make minor date adjustments.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Scott

    Scott,
Pardon my bumping in but let's make sure we're talking about the same thing. You use the term "calendar view" but I don't think that is what you meant. In Project the Calendar View is a whole separate defined view. You can find it on the ribbon under View/Task
views group. One of the reasons I don't think you really mean the Calendar View is that I'm not aware of any right drop down arrow anywhere on that view, but then I don't have Project 2013.
So, for clarity sake, do you really mean the small calendar that pops up when you activate a date field cell (e.g. Start, Finish, etc.) and then hit the selection arrow, (which is on the right side)?
This may seem like a small thing but more than once have we gone round and round trying to help a user when part of the problem was a misunderstanding due to incorrect terminology.
One other thing. I assume you realize that by entering dates directly into the Start for Finish fields, you will be setting a constraint on that task.
With that, I'll leave it to Guillaume.

  • Microsoft Project 2013 - Text under Task Names not formatting for Critical Path to different color (e.g. red)

I am working with MS Project 2013 Professional
I am trying to format the text for Critical Path items under the 'Task Name' column to stand out as red - but it does not seem to be working
This is what I do - I go to "Format" tab,  "Text Styles" "Critical Tasks" and then set Color as red, click OK. The text does not change form the default black.
Earlier, I had formatted the whole of that column "Task Name" as "Automatic Color" - that seems to have triggered this off
    See attached screenshot
    How can I fix this?
    Thanks
    HardCore Scheduler
P.S. I couldn't find the answer to any similar question in this forum

    HardCore Scheduler --
Your mistake was formatting the Task Name column with Automatic Color, as this overrides the setting in the Text Styles dialog.  Here is how to fix it:
In the View section of the Task ribbon, click the Gantt Chart pick list button (drop-down arrow) and select the Reset to Default Item on the menu.
Click the Yes button when prompted in a confirmation dialog.
Widen columns as needed and scroll the Gantt Chart pane back to the beginning of the project.
Click the Format tab to display the Format ribbon.
Select the Critical Tasks checkbox in the Bar Styles section of the ribbon.
Click the Text Styles button in the Format section of the Format ribbon.
In the Text Styles dialog, click the Item to Change pick list and select Critical Tasks.
Set the Color pick list to Red and then click the OK button.
This should display what you want to see.  Hope this helps.

  • Concerns when attempting to Downgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 7 with Lenovo Y40-70

    Hello
I have just purchased a Lenovo Y40-70 laptop with preinstalled Windows 8.1 OS.  I am trying to figure out how to downgrade to Windows 7 with a purchased OEM disk because of the lack of support of Windows 8.1 with many of the software packages I use for work.
After doing some research, the concept of GPT vs MBR hard drive disks kept coming up.  Until receiently, I was under the impression that to downgrade to Windows 7, I would have to convert my HDD from GPT to MBR by deleting everything that was on it and reformatting it.  This concept scares me because of the possible loss of my Windows 8.1 OS.  It should be said that this laptop is completely new and no personal data or programs have been added.
Recently, I came across a support document written by Lenovo that describes how to downgrade to Windows 7 for many of the ThinkPad computer models.  The problem is that my laptop is not a ThinkPad but was associated with the referred document(http://support.lenovo.com/en/documents/ht075596) with the use of their search wizard.
    The steps are as follows:
How to install Microsoft Windows 7 on the Windows 8-based computer:
1.Turn on the computer to start Windows 8.
2.Hold down the Windows logo key and press C to open the Charm bar on the screen.
3.Select Settings, then Power from the menu.
4.Select Reboot to restart the computer.
5.While the "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" message is displayed at the lower-left area or lower-center of the screen, press the F1 key. The ThinkPad Setup menu will be displayed. If a password prompt appears, type the correct password.
6.Select Restart, then make sure the operating system Optimized Defaults option is set to Disabled.
7.Press the F9 key to load default configuration.
    8.Select Yes.
9.Insert the Windows 7 Installation DVD into the DVD drive, then press the F10 key to save configuration and exit.
    10.Select Yes.
11.Follow the instructions on the screen to restart the computer.
12.Follow the instructions of Windows 7 installation DVD to install Windows 7.
    My questions are:
    1. Is there any harm that can come to my PC by trying the above steps and it not working correctly?
    2. Is there any validity to the above instructions for a Lenovo Y40-70?
    3. Am I still going to have to reformat my HDD from GPT to MBR for any of this to work? If so, what do I need to delete in "Disk Management" to reformat?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you

This is probably not what you want to hear.
The answer to question one is a qualified no. If by Damage you mean physical damage, then the answer is no. If you mean by damage to the installed OS, then if it is done improperly then yes.
Question 2 I have no clue I have never tried to do what you are wanting to do.
Question 3. I think you need to read this, http://www.howtogeek.com/193669/whats-the-difference-between-gpt-and-mbr-when-partitioning-a-drive/
But I have another option for you. Have you ever thought of using a Virtual PC on the Windows 8 machine. You can run Windows 7 on Windows 8.1 and leave windows 8.1 intact. You can also install al your software on Windows 7 and run it in the virtual environment.
Also Windows 8.1 has compatibility mode just as older versions of Windows did. Have you tried installing the software in compatibility mode?

  • Stuck on Windows Vista with Lenovo G550?

Hi, I am experiencing a problem which is making me get really mad at Lenovo Customer Service and Microsoft at the same time. I am using a G550 with 1.8GHz Celeron CPU and 2GB DDR RAM with 250GB HDD and G4500 Graphics
    Here my Problem:
I was quite happy when buying my laptop, and couldnt wait to install Windows 7 on it. As I did so, I figured out very soon that there are major issues with Windows 7 on my laptop, and I was not able to run any of my software. Games wouldnt run, the programs would crash and I felt fooled in a way. That was why I then thought of XP, which was a very simple OS, but at least would run all of my software on this Notebook that I had just bought. So I installed XP and I could not find all the drivers I needed, I was not able to run my WIreless LAN-Network and in total XP is a 9 year old piece of software, which has many security issues, and wont be suiting a new Laptop in this price category. I mean I spent some 500 dollars on this notebook, and then I end up running XP on it? No thanks!
So I moved to Vista, which was my last hope, and which would at least run my applications, not crash and updatable. And at least I could really use the ease of this notebook on Vista. But one thing that really makes me crazily mad is, that I happen to have the worst performance with Windows Vista. I run SP2, the start procress needs like 40seconds without logon. Another additional 20 seconds for loading all the autostart programs (which are just CA Anti Virus and the usual system stuff). Do I have to be stuck on Windows Vista forever? I am experiencing so many problems with this operating system, but somehow its just more convenient than old dusty XP and new crashy windows7. Is it really this bad, that after spending hundreds of dollars on a new laptop I have to stick ot vista, in order to stay up to date and use my old programs which windows 7 just wont run?
I think its bit of an Ironie that Microsoft does not solve their incompatibility issues with lenovo laptops, and that Lenovo does not care about the problems their customers experience.
I was very well surprised when I bought this notebook until I realized the problems like:
Disk turning on and off al the time
    Incompatibility with Win7
Driver problems on old OS like XP
I think lenovo really ows us a statement, and Microsoft should really tell us what we are going to purchase before we buy it. Money doesnt grow on trees and I am not willing to spend a lot of money on OS and Notebooks that later wont run correctly.
    Whats your opinion on this?
    Mahdi

Hi if you want to stay in vista...
Here you find some acceleration hints for vista ..

if you running more XP based programs (esp.. games) why not choose XP ?

  • Windows 8.1 Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro "Network Driver not properly installed"

I've just received a brand new Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro just a few hours ago, and already there seems to be a problem. Windows 8.1 keeps telling me it cannot find any networks, and when I troubleshoot problems, it tells me that my drivers are not properly installed. I've reinstalled the drivers twice already, and even gotten the most up-to-date drivers from Lenovo's website. After taking a dive through the devices window, I can't even seem to locate the network adapter within it.
Am I missing something? Is it possible they forgot to install a network card?

What do you mean by clean install?  Are you simply restoring a backup image of the pre-installed OS, or are you really installing with a new copy of Windows?

    Hi
I hope someone can help me. We need to perform some stress testing on Project Server 2013.

  • Microsoft Project Prof. 2010 Client with ProjectServer Connection

    Hello everybody,
I have problems with my project client instance (Microsoft.Office.Interop.MSProject.Application).
It does not have a connection to my project server.
In the project client itself, i have a default connection to my Project Server. The instance in my program is not using the this default connection.
    I instantiate with following code:

In case someone has the same question, the solution can be found here: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/a4a3a533-32c4-465b-8153-d71c8eaea7e5/checkout-and-update-a-project-using-managed-code?forum=project2010custprog
The main idea is following: we start MS Project using System.Diagnostics, pass server address as command line parameter to it, and then Interop assembly uses it for Project Server access.
    string paramList = " /s " + serverURL;
    string winProj = "C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Office\\Office15\\WINPROJ.EXE";
