    that's most suspected.
for such old machine everything could be the reason, but the PSU is the most suspected

it would be perfect if you can tell me what bios was installed by default on this mb..
that's impossible to tell, bios version vary depend of mainboard production date release
since you worked on this PC for 4 years, you should be noted what BIOS version its running
there is no way to guess what BIOS version you was running

i want to give a shot with it...
the bios is correct one, you can also try to rename A7597NMS.2A0 to AMIBOOT.ROM

  • MSI GF615M-P33 problem with sb audigy se

    Hi everyone
First of all in case it's useful, here's my system:
    Windows xp sp2 32bit
    AMD Athlon X2 240 2.8GHz Socket AM3 2MB
    MSI GF615M-P33 GeForce 6150SE Socket AM3
Asus Radeon X1550 512mb (old card works fine)
    Sound Blaster Audigy SE
    Crucial 2GB DDR3 1333MHz/PC3-10600 Memory CL9 1.5V
    0 Maxtor 80GB  SATAII 7200rpm 8MB Cache
    1 Maxtor 250GB SATAII 7200rpm 8MB Cache
    G7 680 watt psu
So this is my third msi board and everything is fine except windows is giving me this error code: Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device (sound blaster audigy).  To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35).
I had a look at what I think is the bios version according to the boot screen A7597nms V2.0 123109 (does this look right?). Also, the advertised version of my board had a red pcb, mine is black and the version is 1.2, don't know if that's important, mentioning anyway.
Now I know the card works with the board because I did something slightly different, (just to see if it would work and save time). After building the computer I didn't reformat the hard drive from the previous mother board, just plugged it in and installed the new chipset drivers etc. Everything fine, soundcard working, except the cpu was only in single core and running very cool; less than 30 degrees c. So, decided to reformat properly, all good, cpu in multi and running around 40 degrees c, but just this problem with the sound card.
Another difference I notice is in windows control panel under Power Options I can't enable 'advanced power management' the option isn't there, so have to switch of the computer manually (which isn't a major problem). In the bios I always disable ACPI as I run a lot of audio processing software and according to some stuff I've read, can cause problems with irq's and all that technical stuff that I don't know much about.
Anyway, to the point. My question is: do I need to update the bios to 2.1 or would it be better to buy a new sound card. I've tried various bios settings and updating the drivers but makes no difference. I've even reinstalled windows with acpi enabled, again, the same error code.
Any help/questions much appreciated. Hope I've explained this well enough.

  • MSI GF615M-P33 without LAN driver.

I put together a pc with the MSI GF615M-P33 yesterday. With the CD from MSI I was able to install the drivers for Chip, Sound, CPU.
Now, I was not able to press neither the "LAN" or "RAID" buttons in the program to start installing the drivers for this.
The only LAN driver I found for MSI GF615M-P33 was at msi.com. But only for 32-bit Vista. I use Windows 7 64-bit.
Can someone tell me where to find drivers? Really need to get my webconnection up and running as fast as possible!

I think you have to find out at Realtek's site if they have come up with drivers:
"Supports 10/100/1000 Fast Ethernet by Realtek 8211CL."
...Can't find any by a quick glance. It wont work with Windows 7 own drivers?
The Realtek's pages has no drivers for the 8211CL, tried that yesterday.. Doesn't seem like Win7 works with it...

I'm not sure, but the standard nforce driver may have installed the LAN drivers for you.
I just downloaded newest nForce and geforce drivers fron NVIDIA, everything including LAN works except audio (which I disabled anyway).  It shows up on device manager as "nForce Ethernet" or something like that.
    Good luck!
    I will try that.
    Thanks for both answers!

  • Msi gf615m-p33 - incompatible with GPU?

so i bought that mbo, and i bought at first 9800 GT . and,,,, it wont work.. no boot, no any sound, no picture...then i bought xfx 550 psu, and still no working..than i tried ond 3850 gpu,and it works..... but today i bought 4890 gpu,and again, it wont work!! .. same  like 9800 .. no boot.. no nothing.. im mad.. i tried both gpu at my friend ,and it works.. so, its mbo problem... i updated bios with msi online update,,and nothing.. so..whats is wrong with this mbo?

I think that is because of the testing method. I think this series has no separate transistors/regulators for 3,3 and 5 volt lines, but rather a "converter" from the 12 volt. Usually that leade to high efficiency and "stable" power.
The thread sounded PSU:ish from the start, but you have to trust a few things in life, and I put some truxt in XFX Core series. - Made by Seasonic, which is usually a sign of quality. The problem is we can't say what PSU is in exer's box...

BIOS is correct one, read >>Posting Guide<<
If the bios is correct, then why not work switches for overclocking??? With their switching to other modes (10%, 15% and 20%) than default motherboard does not start. How do you explain this? In BIOS firmware is working correctly.

  • GF615M-P33 - Only beep codes, no screen

Just a built a new computer with the following specs...
    Motherboard: MSI GF615M-P33
CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 425 Rana
    RAM: Crucial 2GB DDR3 1333, Model: RM25664BA1339 - 1 stick
HDD: Western Digital 500 GB Caviar - WD5000AAKS
PSU: Antec 500 Watt Smartpower 2.0
No graphics or sound cards b/c I wanted to use the onboard chips until I could afford them.
I plugged everything up and made sure all connections were seated before powering on the system for the 1st time.
When I powered it up there was 2 beeps and no screen, monitor insisted it wasn't getting a signal.
Powered down and double checked the connections, everything was connected nice & tight.
I fired it up again, this time with the case open and heard:
1 set of 3 low volume but short fast chirps
    pause
1 set of 3 low volume but short fast chirps
    pause
    louder single longer beep
    pause
    another single longer beep
I never see anything on the screen except lots flickering
I powered the computer down and booted back up with the RAM stick removed and heard 3 single beeps with a pause in between each.
Powered back down and removed CMOS battery for 30 sec, powered back up, no screen and same results as the 2nd time I fired it up.
Anybody have any clues what I should try next? Or am I facing bad RAM or motherboard? Or do I just need to purchase a 2nd RAM stick?

I took the motherboard, CPU, and ram assembly back to the shop where I purchased these items. All 3 tested ok on a bench test.

Motherboard Grounding to case causing No Post
Test the motherboard outside of the case to verify that the motherboard is not shorting to the case and causing a problem
         •    With only the CPU and heat sink, memory, and video card (or onboard video) connected to the motherboard, place the motherboard on a non-conductive surface and retest the motherboard
         •    Check the case mounting standoffs to verify that they are lining up correctly with the mounting holes on the motherboard.
This case is from a Compaq Presario SR1210NX - The standoffs in this case are made to it. The manufacturer of the case took a sheet metal plate and pressed it to form the standoffs then it was drilled and tapped. This plate is riveted to the case but does not touch the outer wall. I wanted to reuse this case because it is fairly nice and is easy to work on.
I tried the motherboard inside the case again, but this time left the screws a little loose so can shift the motherboard a tiny dab at the bottom. Left the case laying on its side, still no go.
Cleared CMOS by moving the little jumper according to the instructions and tried again on a non-conductive surface, same thing.
I looked at the label on the power supply, manufactured in 2004, so its 6 years old and this would have been the 4th computer it was installed in.

Doesn't sound wrong, but check it is seated correctly, in the slot closest to the processor.
The instructions and motherboard labeling show slot #1 (DIMM 1) to be the one furthest from the processor. Is this a misprint?
I did try it again with the RAM in the other slot, same results.
Is it possible that I'm looking at a dead power supply instead? Which doesn't make much sense because both the CPU fan and case fan spin up indicating that they are receiving power. Also the power switch lights up but the harddrive light never comes on. The harddrive is ok because I tested in my external harddrive enclosure and hooked it up to the computer I'm using right now via USB.

    Thanks

    Hi there!
My computer broke down a couple of week's ago and i have been using my laptop meanwhile.
Now i finally got some new parts to my computer.
    So the current computer:
    AMD Athlon X2 250, 3,0 ghz, AM3, 2MB, 65W
    MSI GF615M-P33, Socket-AM3, m-ATX, GeForce 6150se, DDR3, SATA II, GbLAN, PCI-Ex16
    Sahpire Radeon HD 4670 512MB GDDR3 PCI-Express 2.0, DVI-I, native-HDMI, HDCP, Lite-Retail
    Kingston ValueR. DDR3 1333MHz 4GB, CL9, Kit w/two Matched ValueRAM 2GB DDR3
    Samsung HD501LJ, 500GB, 7200rpm, 16M
Windows XP Pro 32 bit, right now, will upgrade later to Windows 7 Ultimate.
    Huntkey Delcato PSU-422 450W DC Output: "+5V=35A(RED), 12V1=15A(YELLOW), +3.3V=30A(ORANGE), +12V2=17A(YELLOWBLACK), -12V=0.5A(BLUE), +5Vsb=2.0A(PURPLE), PG(GREY)
So the problem is that when i inserted all of my components and then just went to boot it, it gave me 3 beeps and a black screen.
My flatmate has the same motherboard and i tried the RAM, CPU and Video card on it, and it worked fine with one beep and i got a screen and came to BIOS.
I tried his RAM, CPU and Video Card on my motherboard and it still gave me 3 beeps and no screen.
So i have no clue how to troubleshoot anymore.
Tell me if you need anymore information
    Please help me!
    Thanks in advance!!

  • GF615M-P33 Thuban support ?

    Hi all,
just bought a MSI GF615M-P33 v2 and a Phenom II 960T for a small rig.
Due to curiocity (the cpu is powerfull enough on 4 cores ) i tried to unlock the two extra cores.Well it does but it is a slow starter
It doesn't recognise the cpu as 1605 during the post but only as AMD unknown cpu.
Always , when i power up the pc i get stacked on the windows 7 (64bit) loading screen at the first boot.
As soon as i restart (cold) it and for the following restarts (if needed) it loads and works like a charm (prime95 says so  )
    CpuZ validation pages :
    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2189307 4 cores
    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2189319 6 cores
At cpu support list it seems that the Thuban platform is support.Only the 1605 is missing.
Is it possible that due to the "unkown cpu" issue, i have that annoying issue ?
The bios is the A20 . Is there any newer with updated microcode ?

Unlocking can give weird results in CPU-z, nothing to worry about.
If you put Thuban 1605 in Google you will find nobody has a known model listed in CPU-z.
That's because AMD never released this 1605, so CPU-z and the micro-code don't define it.
Nothing you can do but be happy with your unknown 6 core

Hi guys, I've recently had a huge problem, my system cannot POST at all and it's been driving me insane.
I've tried to get into the BIOS but I can't get anywhere at all, I've used onboard VGA and DVI to get a display on the monitor neither worked, installed my GPU using HDMI and DVI on my monitor, "no signal" my monitor says.
I've took everything out and re installed everything, took the RAM out and replaced it in a different dim, didn't work so then I tried it with no RAM at all and couldn't even get a BEEP code for any indication for what to do next.
Tried 2 hard drives from work that have Windows 7 on (Samsung and Seagate).
I've cleared the CMOS and left it for 30 seconds and re-installed it hoping for a reason, nothing.
I'm really banging my head against the wall as I'm out of ideas and can't get any indication for what I'm doing wrong.
    Any help is massively appreciated.

You need to borrow a more "popular" CPU, be sure the system is rock stable and update the BIOS (to v4.7).
