Help - MSI H87M-G43 & Intel HD 4600 - DisplayPort - "No video input"
Hello,
I use
CPU i5-4670
MB: MSI H87M-G43
OS: Win 7 HP 64bit
LCD: Philips 23" 231P4QPYEB.
If I use DisplayPort (DP) after switch to Win is monitor going to Sleep mode and says "No video input".
DP work in BIOS and in starting screen (loading) Win files after switch screen to "Welcome and etc. is disconnect and going to Sleepo mode and says "No video input". In Safe mode DP is working.
In Win without Intel drivers and only with Win drivers working, but then I instal Intel Drivers and restart DP is going to sleep mode and says "No video input." If I use DVI connection is working fully.
Can you help me or isn´t problem in drivers? MB is update with MSI LiveUpdate aplication to last possible version BIOS and MB drivers.
LCD drivers latest from Philips website and Intel drivers testing:
15.33.8.64.3.345
15.31.17.64.3257
10.18.10.3277 (from MSI website).
BIOS VGA seting:
Integrated Graphics Configuration
- Initiale Graphic Adapter
- IGD (integrated graphic display)
- Integrated Graphics Share Memory (256M)
- DVMT Memory (256MB)
- IGD Multi-Monitor (Disabled).
Thank you veru much. Jacob
Is this the gaming version or regular?
The primary DIMMS are DIMM 2 & 4 (2nd from the cpu and last)
So install a single stick of ram in DIMM 2 then clear the cmos. Then try the other stick.
If it won't boot with either, try a single stick in each DIMM to see if any will work.

MSI H87M-G43, cannot install Windows 7 on SSD
I am building a new PC with the hardware specified here:
Motherboard MSI H87M-G43 (flashed to the latest BIOS E7823IMS v.1.5 and run Restore Defaults)
CPU Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz
RAM Corsair DDR3 4GB XMS3 PC3-10666 x 2
SSD Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
DVD Liteon IHAS124-14 24X
PSU Corsair CX430
I have installed the Samsung 840 EVO on SATA Port 1, Boot Option #2 and the Liteon DVD Drive on SATA Port 5, Boot Option #1. Now I want to a clean install of the Windows 7 OS.
I insert the Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit DVD and I am able to boot off the Windows 7 DVD and continue with the installation. However, during the installation, after the copying the files, expanding files, installing features, installing updates, completing installation screen, the system reboots as expected but the install fails and I get a blank screen with the following error:
a disk read error occurred
press ctrl+alt+del to restart
No matter what I try I cannot get the Windows 7 OS on the Samsung 840 EVO SSD. I have tried SATA mode AHCI Mode. I have even tried SATA mode RAID Mode using the latest Intel RST drivers and the load drivers option during the installation. Whatever I try, the installation fails.
I have placed the Samsung 840 EVO into another PC and run the Samsung Magician software which reports the drive to be in good working order.
If I swap the Samsung 840 EVO on SATA Port 1 with a Samsung 1TB SATA II HDD, the Windows 7 installation completes successfully without any problems whatsoever.
Please can anyone help?Quote from: xmad on 04-March-14, 07:10:43
Which updates are failing and what is the failure code?
Updates install, but on completion, Windows Update says I have to restart and the PC waits at Shutdown for many minutes and eventually BSODs so quickly I cannot see the BSOD error.
So, I have tried re-installing the OS 5 or 6 times now, choosing different combinations of Windows updates to install, but at some point I get a problem. Other symptoms I get are:
1. Updates install, the PC shutdowns successfully but on reboot I get the 'Windows is configuring updates' screen and the PC hangs.
2. Updates install OK but when I get to the desktop, the mouse and keyboard stop working.
3. Updates install OK, I get to the desktop, but on next restart, the PC hangs.
Something is screwed here and whatever I try, I cannot install all the Windows updates successfully after a clean OS install. -

No.
It is difficult to identify where the problem is then

... and to make matters worse, during extensive testing of this Wake on LAN issue, I set:
Wake Up Event By: [OS]
Resume From S3 by USB Device [Enabled]
and my USB keyboard is also unable to wake from S3/Sleep. When Wake Up Event By: [BIOS] is set, the USB keyboard is able to wake from S3/S4/S5.
Well mine does not wake up by keyboard, which is what I want, I need to see if keyboard with power key will work.

Last week, I submitted a support ticket with MSI, who responded with a basic set of wake on LAN instruction. I explained that, although I have followed the instructions, it still does not work. MSI have now gone silent on me.
I had somewhat similar experience with ASUS, but they just kept repeasting themselves, seems like language barrier or they just pretending. -
MSI H77MA-G43 AND INTEL 2ND GEN
Hello,
i have made a budget pc for a friend with the following config:
MSI H77MA-G43
INTEL I5 2400
MSI GTX 550 TI
I have installed all the drivers but i can´t get any audio or ethernet. I've read about this and i come to a conclusion that might be some problems of compatibility between h77 chipsets and 2nd generation intel processors, since h77 chipsets ware made for 3rd gen. processors.
I've already change bios, installed the latest drivers and updates the chipset controller, but nothing. Anyone can help me or do i have to change the board for a P67 chipset???
Thanks in advance,The board runs fine with an i5-2400 and bios 1.70:
http://www.msi.com/service/download/bios-19052.html
Audio is already working with default Windows driver.
Make sure you've selected your speakers in the Playback Devices menu in Windows. It might use the VGA audio at the moment.
LAN is running fine with the Realtek driver: http://www.msi.com/service/download/driver-2697.html
What ME version is the board running on? You can check that in the Settings->System Status menu. -
MSI B85M-G43 could not detect Gigabyte R929OC 4GB 3X Windforce
I recently build a new PC a month ago and have been using it for 3 weeks then random black screens problem started to occur.
It started right around the time after I updated to catalyst 14.4 w/o the beta. At the same time i noticed windows update has updated some files which i did not note down what it was. Also Noticed that startup list had some new programs running.
I proceeded to disable the programs in startup, undo the latest windows update and finally reinstalled windows 8.1
Nothin works and I am left with black screen, which i realised that to be actually the mobo not detecting the card once i got a vga screen plugged in to mobo onboard graphics and went to BIOs to see.
Previously my BIOs were updated to latest through the liveupdate 5 program, which itself updated to liveupdate 6. For some reason I dont like programmes sitting at the back constantly checking for updates, so after updating those, I deleted all those programs. The updates also took forever to download, I figured i will download/install individually in future. Now that I do a search there is no live update 6?
Just to make sure, I have reflashed the BIOs to E7823IMS v3.6 again through the m-flash inside BIOs, but did not choose the BIOs + ME option as i dont know what it is. After reboot, BIOs version remained there, checked for ME and there's the version number 9.0.21.1462.
BIOs version: E7823IMS v3.6
ME version: 9.0.21.1462
Prior to the Win8.1 reinstall, my OS was sitting on my SSD in non UEFI mode, I chose to install in non-uefi as i dont know what it was then. When i tried to reinstall, somehow the boot priority identified the SSD as UEFI first, so i wanted to give it a try and proceeded to install win8.1 in UEFI until reboot failed. Then I decided to installed my win8.1 on my HD in non UEFI instead. The system, as usual, works using the integrated graphics and mobo could not detect the graphics card in the only PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. Should I plug it into the PCIe 2.0 x16 slot and try, It never occur to me until now as I thought that was the only slot my graphics card could use.
Please help

Note: Don't remove your USB during bios flash as the system will restart for I think around 2 times and plugging out USB might kill the MB bios.
Did you modify any settings in the bios setup??
If updating bios not can't work, try to plug your card to second PCIE slot and see if it could boot or not. -
MSI Z77A-G43 - extreme memory profile problem
Hello everyone,
I’d really appreciate a piece of help here. I’ve bought the MSI motherboard MSI Z77A-G43 and currently I’m having problems with my memory (slots 1 and 3). My PC has following specs:
- MSI Z77A-G43
- Intel Core i5 2500K (not overclocked)
- RAM Patriot 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 (PGD38G1600ELK) G2 Series
Everything is set to default values and works fine. But when I enter the BIOS, I see that the memory is automatically set to 1333 MHz. The memory has the XPM. But when I set the XPM (agressive timing, 1600 MHz) support (no other changes) and reboot the PC, it doesn’t work (endless reboot looping). Is there any way how I can make the XPM modus work? The memory is OK (tried on other MBs, XPM without problems), the CPU too. I tried overclocking, with slightly increased voltage I can easily reach 4,8 GHz on CPU, basically everything else is fine. The PSU is also sufficient (700W, OCZ). I can too set the memory on 1600 MHz manually, but the timing isn’t that good.
It’s actually a failure I can live with, but since it’s a brand new PC, I’d like to get the best out of it.
Many thanks
V.K.Sometimes manually setting them works when XMP refuses to.
I don't know what the XMP SPD profile for that memory is, and a screenshot of your SPD and memory tabs would help.
However try the following.
Disable XMP and reboot so they are back at 1333.
Manually set it to 1600 and ensure manual setting of the timings to 9.9.9.24 see if that works.
If not set your DRAM voltage to 1,575V and see if that works.
It may be that your memory requires 1,65V, in which case, that is what you have to set. You should be able to see that in CPU-Z SPD tab under the XMP profile column. -
Msi z87-g43 random 1 beep then BSOD then restarts plz help...
Heres the list of mods on my computer Below. everything is less than 6 months old besides the Harddrive witch I used from my 3 year old HP that I used to have. So anyways my Motherboard throws a 1 beep then BSOD then restarts every once and a blue moon like literaly every few weeks weather im gaming hard or not its just so random . I had it happen again today and prier to this time it happened like over 2 weeks ago. Ive tried reseting BIOS and also did Memtest on the memory for 6-7 hours or so and it passed and even made sure the memory was compatable with the Motherboard witch it is. So now im lost and don't know what to do...is it the HardDrive possibly??? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP....... :-(

First do a Chkdsk. Choose Admin command prompt and type "CHKDSK /R /F" (without the quotes), press Enter. It will ask for a reboot, press Y, and let it do it's thing. It may take an hour or so depending on how many errors it finds. If you get a cascade of errors it is likely that you have a failing hard drive.
Anyway this is a good start. -
MSI P67A-G43 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 wont BOOT!
My pc
PSU:Ultra 650w
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600k
MOBO:MSI P67A-G43 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67
Video Card:ATI 6950 GIGABYTE 2GB.
HDD:SEAGATE 1TB
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
Explanation
I recently changed my motherboard from gigabyte+amd 955(worked flawlessly) to an intel core i7 2600k and the current mobo, i kept all the previous components and now i am having trouble booting up my pc. It starts and all the comps seem to work no beep but the monitor LED turns off and on and there is not even a "no signal" notice therefore i dont think its my video card causing the issue.
What could it be? I heard that CPU is the least faulty component.
Is the memory compatible or should i switch? worked fine on previous build.
Or is it the mobo? Thanks for the help it happens that it was my dumb monitor not working in hdmi or dvi controller. Funny cause the component works fine on my ps3.....
So no problem whatsoever just my monitor worned out and needs to rma because its been only 1 year.
But before you leave i had to remove the cpu to check if i put it right... and maybe some thermal contact worn off a little bit because the motherboard bios in the OC section is displaying 55 degrees celcious is that normal(the bar reaches red section)? Room temp 74 degrees. also hardware monitor displays 40 degrees celcious each core Which one should i believe. -

Help: FSB Setting for MSI 875P with Intel 3.06 533Mhz & Corsair 512 2799 333Mhz
Need a little help here, Intel's specs for the P4 3.06GHz 533 is a multiplier of 23 x 133Mhz.
However 133Mhz as a FSB seems very slow.
The 875P NEO has two BIOS settings: CPU Ratio and Adjust CPU Bus
What are your settings for these - I am quite confused?
Thanks!
G.133 is the stock FSB setting. set your memory to DDR333.
Do you want to overclock? you might want to set your memory to DDR266 which is 1:1. so u can adjust a bit of FSB from 133 to maybe 150.
PS dont forget your memory timing. 2-6-3-3 would be oki i think. what bios version r u using? -
MSI Z77A-G43 UEFI Overvolt+Intel Exteme Tuner Overvolt combo
Hey all,
I just wanted to run past you an experiment I did and I think worked.
I currently overclock my i5-3570k with an every day overclock of 4.4 at no offset voltage and a benchmark overclock of 4.7 at +.14V - however my benchmark overclock isnt exactly stable.
I noticed in Exteme Intel Tuning Utility There's a slider there for additional mV turbo voltage. I'm multiplier overclocking for my benchmark overclock with no power saving features and my voltage tops out at around 1.34V but when I add additional mV on Intel Extreme Tuner it goes to 1.38V. It also made me pass my 3dmark at 4.7 which is hit-or-miss but now worked every single time and also passed IBT.
Could this truly be modifying my input voltage on the CPU beyond the motherboard's limited offset mV overclocking?
Is this super dangerous and should I never do it again?
thoughts/opinions
also obligatory 3dmark link
MSI 7950 3gTF+MSI Z77A G43
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/56246041.400v's on the CPU is the industry recommended limit for an everyday machine, so whatever way it gets there shouldn't make any difference.

If not doing a 'Turbo' OC, I don't see the connection with mV turbo setting. If raising the mV on the Intel utility raises the voltage to the CPU, and it is confirmed, then it must work as you have described. -
MSI P67A-G43 (B3) - Need help identifying this postcode
Need help identifying this postcode:
CPU:i7-2600k
Mobo:MSI P67A-G43 (B3)
PSU: Corsair 750w
GPU isn't the problem since I replaced it and still get this postcode. RAM isn't the problem since I've tried four different sticks one at a time in each slot and still get the postcode. Getting no live video from the GTX580 and no onboard video. I think either the mobo or the CPU is the problem, don't want to have to send both in for RMA so if anyone can help me identify the postcode that'd be great.Hey Ctrl
Well I happen to have the same beep code on my motherboard (P67A-C43 B3), after trying different suggestions from the MSI forum users and MSI technical support I ended up RMA(ing) my motherboard.
You can try resetting the CMOS, by flipping the battery and leaving it like that for 5 minutes and putting it back to its original side. I highly doubt it is your cpu. Like anybody in the forum might suggest, try different components which appears you already did. I doubt your corsair is faulty. CPU and motherboard are your best bet that are faulty, and i highly doubt that it is the CPU because for there to find another person (you) that had the same problem as me since last friday (RMA board yesterday, wednesday) I find it highly unlikely. -
[MSI B85-G43] Windows freezes watching videos
Hello folks,
My computer is freezing when I watch streams on Twitch and sometimes on Youtube too.
It also happens when I watch movies using Media Player Classic.
I can play games for hours and the system never got stucked.
Can somebody help me?
My specs are:
MOBO: MSI B85-G43 GAMING LGA
PSU: EVGA 500W 100-W1-0500-KR 500W, 80 Plus
GPU: EVGA GTX 970 FTW
RAM: DDR3 Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10B 8GB 1600MHz
Processor: Intel Core i7-4790k 4.0GHz 8MB 4ª Geração LGA 1150
Ps. Sorry for bad english, it's not my main language. :DI was using Windows 8.1, but I formatted my pc and installed win 7 professional.
The problem happens on both OS.
When I get home I'll try to remove my GPU and test only on Intel HD 4600.
In other forums, I told that my Intel HD was not showing on "System Device's", they told me that it's normal, since my motherboard only uses the GTX, but I don't know. In my opnion, this video/stream it's Intel HD responsability.
I also read something about i7-4790k voltage on the BIOS, but I don't have no clue about what voltage it should or should not be. There are some people that had this problem becaus Intel Turbo Boost too, when I get home I'll check that too. -

I have not configured any of the Intel Management and Security, Small Business Advantage, Smart Connect software, just installed them.
The issues I get are:
1. JUSB1 connected and Resume From S3/S4/S5 by USB Device: Enabled in BIOS. When I shutdown the PC, it automatically boots 2-3 seconds later. If I set Resume From S3/S4/S5 by USB Device: Disabled or disconnect the JUSB1, the PC shutdown is fine.
2. Once the PC is shutdown OK, PC boots itself several hours later. Yesterday at 15:50pm PC was shutdown. At 21:18pm, PC automatically booted itself.
This is my first MSI and UEFI motherboard. What I would like is some advice on setting up the BIOS and the software to get sleep/hibernate working and no automatic boots.
I have contacted MSI regarding these issues, but they say they cannot reproduce them. I have subsequently googled these issues and of course, other MSI users are experiencing similar problems, but there are no obvious resolutions. Please can anyone help/advise?Hi,
I have the MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming mobo and perhaps similar problem as discussed in this thread.
I wanted to be able to wake my PC from sleep mode via my USB connected mouse and keyboard. Therefore I went into BIOS and set the "Resume from S3/S4/S5 by USB Device" to "Enabled". And yes, now it is possible to wake my PC from sleep mode by just clicking any button on my keyboard or just moving my mouse a little bit. So far so good. BUT, another feature was also added which I did not want to have: By just clicking any button on my keyboard or moving my mouse a little bit the PC also started after I have "shut it down"! This could seem as the PC boot by itself but it does not, I have to move the mouse just a little bit (by accident for example when needing more space on my desk) or clicking a button on the keyboard. I THINK THE ROOT CAUSE TO THIS PROBLEM IS AS FOLLOWS: In BIOS, it says "Resume from S3/S4/S5 by USB Device". Instead it should only be "Resume from S3 by USB Device". S3 is the same as "Sleep" and S5 is the same as "Soft off" = PC shutdown. Do you understand what I mean? When I shut down my PC it is put into state “S5”. (NOTE: I have another PC with MSI Z77-GD65 and here it only says "Resume from S3 by USB Device" and no problem with any starting of that PC via USB device from a shutdown state, it only starts from the sleep state (=”S3”) as I want. How do I get rid of the "S5" state in BIOS for this USB wake up feature? (Btw "S4" is hibernate state which is not the same as a shutdown PC, therefore not causing this problem.)
ADDED No. 1: Please read msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa373229(v=vs.85).aspx for explanation of the different system Power states I mention above.
ADDED No. 2: My Click BIOS version is 1.8 for Z87-GD65 with release date 2013-12-06. On a Youtube video I have seen that version 1.0 of this BIOS has Wake up "Resume from S3 by USB Device" and not ...S3/S4/S5... -
MSI B85M-G43 can't install Windows 7. Hard disk not detected.
Hi,
I just built a new computer for the first time. I followed the instructions and did everything correctly. but am unable to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. Hard disk isn't always detected during the installation.
But when it appeared in the "Where do you want to install Windows" list along with system, I tried to format the hard disk and got a message "Failed to format the select partition. [Error 0x80070057]."
Then I restarted the computer, the hard disk no longer displayed in the list, so I put motherboard driver disc and clicked on Load Driver and opened Storage\Intel\PCH_12.0\f6flpy-x64. It loaded, then I got a message saying "To continue installation, use the Load Driver option to install 32-bit and signed 64-bit drivers. Installing an unsigned 64-bit device driver is not supported and might result in an unusable Windows installation."
I restarted again and disabled Driver Signature Enforcement, but it didn't help. I still got the same message.
In the computer case I have these devices:
- MSI B85M-G43, Socket-1150
- Intel Core i5-4430 Processor
- Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 8GB
- MSI GeForce GTX 650Ti BOOST 1GB
- Cooler Master GX 550W PSU
- WD Desktop Green 1TB
- SuperMulti 16X DVD(+/-)R/RW 12X RAM (+/-)R DL LightScribe SATA drive
Everything is plugged in correctly. Hard disk connector plugged in SATA 1 and DVD -> SATA 2.
The installation is pretty slow, regardless if i install it via USB or x16 DVD. All except DVD and hard disk are disabled. It's also worth to mention that even DVD and USB aren't always detected in the click BIOS.
So I'm wondering if anyone here can help me? ThanksHi and
1: What BIOS version you have? .. Have you tryed to downgrade/upgrade it already?
2: Have you tryed it in those SATA 2 ports? ...is it same strory?
- On SATA there aint any master or Slave like on IDE so if you are under same controller it dosent mutter what port you use on what device.
Note: SATA 3 Ports are faster then SATA2 ports, but even SATA 1 can handel your DVD or HDD. So no lose if you need to use SATA 2 ports.
Hope this get you foward! Cheers Mummy -
First PC Build: MSI P67A-G43 - Can't Boot From Windows 7 DVD
MB: MSI P67A-G43
HD: Seagate 1TB
DVD: HP 1260
CPU: Intel i5 2500K
I just built my first PC. In the BIOS I had it set to boot first from my DVD drive that has a 64-bit version of Windows 7 loaded. No matter what I tried, I received the message: "Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device"
So I have been on the phone with technical support, and they suggested I download a driver update, which I found HERE.
I have tried installing both the driver and the BIOS updates, but every time it says that the boot from the pen drive failed and to check the USB drive and ROM.
I've looked for answers all over the web, but the only ones I find assume that you've previously had Windows installed. This is a first boot though, and I really don't know what to do next. Can anyone help with this?
thanks! If anyone would like to take a look at these OC settings that are default with my board as to a reason why it wouldn't be booting from the DVD drive or accepting the RAM, I would appreciate it.
