HELP! MUSIC STORE HELP!!!

I want this one song by Reel Big Fish called You Don't Know and I can only find it in the Japanese Store. I want it and I'm getting frustrated with d* Google!

Well, after calling Apple tech. support, I did find out that 4.7.1 was the problem. The tech., who had 4.8 and had no problems viewing the title of the song, told me that I would have to upgrade. I decided to do so with much trepidation. I also had to upgrade to 10.3.9 and Quicktime 7.0.3 to take full advantage of iTunes 6. I also decided to upgrade the Safari browser. I downloaded each update separately via "Software Update" on my Mac. I restarted my Mac after each software download (even when I did not have to) and ran "Repair Permissions" after each restart. The good news is that iTunes 6 seems to be fine. I have all my music and when I go to the Music Store I can view any title that I choose and listen to the preview. I am not as fond of the search features in 6 (I thought the search features on 4.7.1 were more intuitive), but I'll get used to them.

  • Music Store Help

I purchased a 20 song album for $9.99 and at song ten the download bar froze. It has not moved for about 20 minutes...I would appreciate any advice, help, and most of all a phone number for apple support (if there is one). Thank you.

Try the "Check for Purchases" command under the Advanced menu and see if the download will resume.
If not (even after quitting and relaunching iTunes), contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page (there is no telphone support for the iTunes Music Store) and explain the problem to them.
    Good luck.

  • ITunes 6 Music Store account not working with iTunes 7 Music Store - help!

I have an account with both the apple site (for here) and for the itunes music store (and i have a current credit card on my account). when I upgraded to itunes 7, it says i do not have an account now....even tho it says to use your apple login (which i've always used to download things from itunes music store), it comes back and says i have no account....
why is this happening? is this a bug? if you have to recreate the account, shouldn't they have said something oremailed something to tell me that/????

login to apple's myinfo page and see what your actual Apple ID is. You have to enter whatever your Apple ID is into iTunes when you try to sign in.
    http://myinfo.apple.com
If you can't login to myinfo, then you've got an account ID or password issue. (in which case use iforgot http://iforgot.apple.com )

  • Can't click on anything in the music store - HELP!

For some reason, I am unable to click on anything in the music store. I am unable to scroll up or down the page.
I CAN click on "search" and type in an artist/song and it takes me to my search. I can click on a song and it plays. I can also use the 'house' symbol and get back to the main page. But, when I try to click on anything else, nothing works. It is like there is no link.
    Did I 'lock' something?
I am very frustrated! I have tried restarting. Can't quite understand and have never had or heard of this problem before!
    TIA!
    Nicole

I am glad I'm not the only one with this problem! (Well, not 'glad', but I am not alone!)

Also, some software that you install on your computer can affect the way your computer sends and receives information from the Internet. A few examples of this software are:
    * Firewalls
    * Internet security software
    * Privacy filters
    * Web accelerators
    * Ad filters
If you cannot use the iTunes Music Store, try disabling this software temporarily to identify the culprit. Then, please refer to the documentation that came with the software to allow the iTunes Music Store to connect to the Internet. For your reference, these domains need to be permitted to send and receive data from the Internet:
    phobos.apple.com
    phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net

Thank you for your response. I am curious to know why if iTunes does not
answer non technical questions, why I received information when I replied to this
email. Listed below are the previous threads providing technical information.
Furthermore, if this is email is for billing disputes, I would like to have
my Mastercard credited $25.87 for a "gift this purchase/tv show" that I
purchased for my uncle on Christmas Day. I purchased the full first season of Monk.
I previously sent an email requesting credit on approximately January 2,
2006, and failed to receive a response. He never received the gift, or any
instructions about how to download the tv show, and I do not show a credit
appearing on my credit card. I would like to have credit for services not received.
Please credit the following card #XXXX

    Dear Emily,
Thank you for contacting the iTunes Music Store. Use the steps in the
following article to troubleshoot your connection problem.
I have been unable to connect for more than 24 hours on Windows.
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Music Store for more than a
day—and other customers on our discussion boards aren't experiencing similar
issues—a software or ISP configuration issue may be blocking your access to
    the iTunes Music Store.
    • Your copy of the iTunes application may be out of date.
    • If iTunes is out of date, it will not be able to connect to the
iTunes Music Store. You can download the latest version of iTunes from our
    website: ?http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
    • You installed a third-party anti-virus or personal firewall
    application.
    • You will need to configure your software to allow iTunes to access
the Music Store. You can contact the software manufacturer if you have
questions regarding configuration. Click here for more information.
    • You upgraded to Windows XP Service Pack 2.
    • Windows XP Service Pack 2, by default, enables the Windows Firewall.
As with a third-party firewall, you will need to configure Windows Firewall
to allow iTunes to access the Music Store. Read this document for more
information. If you have further questions about configuring the Windows Firewall,
    contact Microsoft's Service Pack 2 hotline at (888) SP2-HELP.
    • You upgraded to a high-speed or wireless Internet connection.
    • A new DSL or cable modem, or even a router, could be the culprit.
These devices allow your computer to access the Internet at a much higher speed,
or route your connection to multiple computers. However, they can also expose
your computer to hackers. To help prevent this, manufacturers of these
products often install firewalls to prevent hackers and viruses from compromising
your system. Although this layer of protection is beneficial, there are
occasions when a device may determine that the iTunes Music Store is a threat to the
computer. If this is the case, you will need to configure these devices to
allow iTunes to access the Music Store. Contact your ISP or the device
manufacturer if you need help configuring your device.
    • You switched to a new ISP.
    • If you didn't install new networking hardware, your ISP may be
blocking access to the iTunes Music Store. Let your ISP know about this document
which can help your them configure their servers to allow iTunes Music Store
    traffic through.

The error message I am receiving is "iTunes cound not connect to the Music
Store. Network connection was refused. Make sure your network settings are
correct and network connection is active, then try again". I have been unable to
connect to the music store for at least 3-4 days. I have been using iTunes
since last October, successfully. I checked all my network connections & they
are fine. I am able to connect to AOL. I even uninstalled and reinstalled
iTunes several times, all successfully, but I am still encountering a problem.
    Thank you.

Nice, effective customer service. I'm at my wit's end. I field customer service calls, and answer emails at work, and the general responses from the iTunes response library are ridiculous. Especially, after emailing me twice technical support emails, they tell me they do not handle technical support questions...
Any help or suggestions as to how I should respond to the next email is helpful...
I also forgot to mention I have been able to connect to iTunes since October 2005, and have been unable to connect for almost 2 weeks now. And, yes, I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes. I was advised over the phone to upgrade to XP Service Pack 2, but it looks like SP2 has issues. ANd, no, I did not download SP2, because the customer support rep admitted he knew nothing to very little about iTunes.
    Emily

    Emily,
thanks for your posting, it just reflects my experience (although I didn't contact the helpdesk, but after what you wrote I think I can skip that part). I am livin in China and buy from the German MS, worked fine until about a week ago when the download of an album stopped just after 5 songs. I have never been able to connect to the shop ever since.
The interesting thing is, that I get a response from their server in the domain phobos.apple.com (phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/storeFront) which I would interpret that there can't be a problem which they always list (Antivirus, Firewall etc...)
So will there ever be somebody from Apple who is going to give a better explanation how to solve the problem ? Or are there already too many people buying iPods and music ???

  • Transferring Music Bought from Nokia Music Store u...

I have bought music from Nokia’s Music Store (specifically, on the Finnish ‘Nokia Musiikkikauppa’). I have downloaded the music files to my computer, and would like to transfer them to my phone, a Nokia N82. In order to do that, I have tried to use Nokia Music Manager (v2.0). I am able to find the songs I downloaded on my PC in the ‘My Collection’ section of Nokia Music Manager, and I can see my phone ‘N82’ in the list below. However, when I go to File -> Copy to Phone, the ‘Copy to Phone’ line is greyed-out, and I cannot use that function. This makes no sense to me. Can it really be that I cannot use ‘Nokia Music Manager’ to transfer music I bought at the ‘Nokia Music Store?’
I partially suspect that this is indeed the case. From the Nokia Music Store help section, I have read “You need to use [Windows Media Player] in order to be able to play, burn and transfer the DRM-protected WMA files from Nokia Music Store.” From this, it would seem that only Windows Media Player can be used to transfer Nokia Music Store music to Nokia phones. However, I simply find it beyond belief that Nokia’s own music manager software cannot be used to transfer music bought from Nokia’s own music store to Nokia’s own devices.
Can anyone shed light on this case?

i had this problem, try doing it through the windows media player. i cannot remember exactly how i did it in the end but i did burn the music to a disc and i'm wondering if i loaded it from the cd in the end?

    Thanks. I can't find that.
I did find this, though. I don't think it is the exactly right way to do it, but at first blush it seems to have worked:
'Disabling Podcasts, Radio, Music Store, or Shared Music
If you have administrator access to your computer, you can disable access to Podcasts, Radio, Music Store, or Shared Music in the Source list using the Parental Control pane of iTunes Preferences.
You can also use the Parental pane to hide these items in the Source list and not require a password to see them again.
    1.
Choose iTunes > Preferences and click the Parental button.
    2.
If necessary, click the lock and type your administrator password.
    3.
Select an item to disable it. For example, if you select Disable Podcasts, the Podcasts item won't appear in the Source list.
    4.
If you want to require a user to enter an administrator password to reenable the items you disabled (or make any other changes in the Parental Control pane) click the lock.
Note: You must be using Mac OS X v10.3 or later to be able to password-protect disabling these items. If you're using Mac OS X v10.2.8, you can hide the items, but a password is not needed to show them again.
You can also use the Parental pane of iTunes Preferences to restrict access to explicit content in the iTunes Music Store.
If you disable podcasts, you won't be able to subscribe to podcasts in the iTunes Music Store.
Make sure you protect your password. Anyone who knows an administrator password for your computer can change parental control settings.'

  • Can't connect to the music store - tried most everything - help!

When I try to connect, itunes says it can't and asks me to check my internet connection. Same thing happens when I click on check for updates. Radio works fine. When I put a music CD in my PC, itunes gets the CD info. FYI, Quicktime won't go to update site or bring up launch video. Says that sever is unavailable.
My PC is an HP P4 2Ghz, 256M ram, XP home SP2. All windows and HP software and firmware are up to date. All other communications work fine.
    Here is everything I tried:
Disabled Viruscan, Disabled Zone Alarm, checked that XP firewall was disabled. Connected directly to my cable modem (Cox is the ISP). I don't use a proxy server and checked to make sure none was configured
Used MSCONFIG to disable everything but itunehelper and qttask (left all Microsoft services running) - still couldn't connect.
Called Cox and asked if they blocked any ports. They explicitly said that iTunes does not use any ports they restrict.
I uninstalled and installed itunes and quicktime about 10 times, in all combinations. I even used the stand alone version of quicktime - no change. I made sure all privacy, virus and firewall programs were disabled when I uninstalled in installed - still can't connect.
I am able to see the html script when I go to itunes.com/version.xml. I can ping phobos.apple.com and dns reports the IP address as 69.44.123.17. I can ping that address. I have upgraded to the latest itunes of 6.04 (my ipod came with 6.02). My ipod connects fine to itunes and gets the music I have loaded from CD's.

My PC appears to be authorized, as I have the option to unauthorize - but I can't do this because I can't connect.
