HELP!! My 8830 won't place calls.

 I activated my 8830 World Edition yesterday. I can use the interent, email, and text messaging, but i cannot place or receive phone calls. Everytime i try to place a call i get the error: Sorry, Only emergency calls can be placed. has anyone had this problem before or know how to fix it. I've spent over 9hrs on the phone with sprint technical support and all they did was do the same process over and over of trying to activate it.

This is definitely a strange issue, the data services are definitely
provisioned on your device as you can use the internet and email.  Let’s get some more info to see if we can pin
point what is going on.
Is
this a new device or did your get it from someone?
Are
you connected to a corporate BlackBerry Enterprise Server?
Is
there an IT policy on the device? 
To check this go to Options – Security Options – General Setting
and look for something that says IT Policy Name
Does
the device have a SIM card in it? 
If it does take it out and try again.
Let us know so we can get this resolved for you!

  • Please Help Audio problem when i place a call on hold and make another one simultaneo​usly

    Dear All,
    I have a BB pearl 8120 and i noticed that when ever i make a call, place it on hold and then simultaneuosly make another call, i dont hear it ring and cant seem to connect with my new caller while it shows me connected on the screen.
    This also happens when i place calls on conference, i notice that im able to connect the parties involved but wont participate in the conference myself, but im able to join conference not made by me.
    Can anybody pls help?

    I am facing the same problem with my Blackberry Pearl 8120 mobile.
    I hope RIM will resolve this in the next software update for mobile phone.
    I found one workaround for this. Call the second person, put them into a conference at this time they can talk to each other. Now press menu and hold the call then resume the call. Mostly you will be in proper conference (all three).
    I also hope the experts in the forum suggests better solution

    i'm trying to implement a script to make multiple outbound calls in a UCCX system but i don't know how can introduce several phones. The idea is simple but this step is critical:
    1-take the first phone number and make the call.
    2-take the secornd phone number and make the call.

    You can do this by taking the phone numbers from an XML document or from a database query (if you have premium license). You will need the place call step and make a loop around it, so when the first number is succesfully dialed, the script take the next number and so on. When using a XML you need to create one, for example:

    Save it as Customer.xml (for example) and upload it to the UCCX repository (Documents in this case).

  • Problem with Place call in a script with HTTP trigger

    I'm trying to develop a sample script, associated to an application that has an HTTP trigger. I'm working with UCCX Premium 8.5.1
    The trigger is working OK, but the place call output is allways "unsuccessful". The number to call and the redirect number are extensions of the same IPT platform.
    Below you will find print-screen of the script. Besides, I'm attaching the .aef file.

    The value in your "Call Control Group" must match the "Group ID" in your CM Telephony Call Control Group Configuration
    This is from my lab system so the "AgentsLoggedIn" variable would need to contain 1 or 3. You are telling the script which CTI port group to make the call with. You have a 0 in your AgentsLoggedIn so do you have a Group ID of 0?
    Your CTI group must be able to make the call so must have the correct partition/Calling Search Space

      Hi, need help on resolving this issue with Verizon.  Had Verizon FIOS triple play installed at my house about 12 days ago.  HD Prime, 15/5 internet and Digital Voice landline.  I switched from TimeWarner cable.    I signed up online for Verizon FIOS and tried to use my current house  telephone number when signing up.  Next day I get a call from a Verizon rep telling me my order was lost even thou I had a confirmation number and that I would have to redo my online sign up.
     I wanted to keep my old telephone number that I had with TimeWarner and port it over to Verizon.  What I did to save my old house phone number was I ported my TimeWarner house telephone number over to an activated cellular Tracfone that I own.  So I resigned up online and selected a new telephone number and the order went thru and I had my FIOS installed at my house.
      What I have learned from talking with Verizon billing, is because my old telephone number  that I had with TimeWarner  had been originally given to me by Verizon many years back and then it was  ported over to TimeWarner from Verizon that Verizon now won't port the old number back over to my house landline  because they have already ported it out once years ago for me. 
      One suggested I create a new account, don't know it this can be done or not.  I got a really good price on the FIOS Triple Play bundle I had installed and don't want to loose the great Verizon FIOS price deal I have.
      Really frustrated at this point, being told before installation that I could keep my old phone number, spending a lot of time on the phone and then being told I can't do it after installation is completed.

  • IMac Facetime won't receive calls after upgrade to Mavericks

    Hi all,
    I am experiencing a strange issue with Facetime on my 2012 iMac running Mavericks.
    Here's the deal:
    Upgraded my iMac and MacBook Air to Mavericks
    I am able to PLACE calls from all machines (so my account seems to be working fine)
    When being called my iMac won't respond...no message, no sound, no nothing...plays dead man
    My MacBook Air behaves normally (also Mavericks)
    I have tried all of the following:
    disabled and re-enabled Facetime (to maybe override some config issue inherited from before the upgrade)
    tried to receive calls with and without Facetime running
    rebooted...several times
    all the latest updates are installed
    I have not (knowingly) changed anything after the upgrade. "Don't disturb" is off and Facetime calls are allowed for everyone.
    Any ideas?

    Hi all, Problem not solved yet.
    Maybe you can give your 2 cents to my working hypothesis:
    Could it be that some background process/service is used to continuously monitor incoming requests/calls? Could it be that this process fires up Facetime and forwards incoming calls (Facetime calls are received without Facetime running, right? So something must capture them...)? Could it be that in my case this process is either not running or configured incorrectly (account, password)?
    Maybe you can put me on the right track?!

  • RightFax w/BrookTrout won't place outgoing FAX

    Hello,
    I have a RightFax server w/Brooktrout T1 card we are going to integrate into a CCM system. The fax server is connected to a 2811 gateway (G2) via T1 ISDN. There is a another 2811 gateway (G1) w/PRI connected to the PSTN. Both gateways are setup as MGCP gateways in call manager. The fax server can receive fax from the PSTN no problem. However, outgoing fax from the fax server fails.
    Q931 debug from G2 (directly connected to the fax server) gives "unassigned/unallocated number - call reject" error code. Calls from the G2 PRI outgoing to the PSTN seem to be failing.
    My call routing in CM is in place, other MGCP gateways w/pot phones can call out to the PSTN. Seems like a configuration issue, 1st time I've setup FAX in the mode. I've followed the ISDN/MGCP Cisco fax relay config guide. Any help/ideas would be great.

  • CUPC not able to place call

    Hi!
    I've a CUCM 8.5.1 and CUPS 8.0.2. I'm a newbie to this thing. I did the configurations with reference from the book. The only problem I have right now is that I'm unable to make a phone call through the CUPC. CUPC is using 7.1. Is this a compatibility issue or something?

    Arni,
    The reason the "Place Call" button is not available can be for a few reasons.
    1) The number for User1 does not exist in Active Directory.  This is where CUPC pulls numbers from for users on the buddy list. 
    2) As Rahul has suggested it would be wise to look further into your desk phone or soft phone control.  I cant see behind the menu to determine which mode you are in, but there's a good chance that the soft phone or desk phone is not connected properly.  You can click on the phone icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen and determine what is selected (either desk oh soft phone (phone on computer).  Specifically you can check under Help -> Show server health and ensure there is not ! marks on desk phone or soft phone. 
    If you can provide further information we can troubleshoot further.

    If you don't see the 'send reset info' button on the page where you can change them then I assume that you don't have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account. As you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions, you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset. You could try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then try Apple ID Account Security

  • Why are my Macbook Pro and my iPad able to place calls, but not receive them?

    I have a MacBook Pro late 2013 edition and last year's iPad Air as well as the iPhone 5s.  I have all of my devices completely signed in to my iCloud account and all of the appropriate boxes checked.  I can place calls using my iPad and my computer, but when my phone rings, it doesn't ring on either the iPad or my computer.  Strangely enough, my iPad used to receive phone calls a month ago, before most of this all came into play, but as already stated, it now does not.  All of my devices are updated to the latest software and I can seamlessly utilize all other handoff features between all three devices. 
    Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

  • Script,Place call

    Hi,when i use the place the call step in the script editor,and the collected string matches an internal number,the place call step rings the destination but as soon as i answer the call,the call does not get really connected and  the reactive debug shows that the call goes to the end and i hear an auto generated error message.
    lets say phone 2001 call to uccx and then he dialed the extension 2002,the place call step sends the call to 2002,but i see on the phone screens From CTI port 1700 and on the other phone to CTI port 1701,i don't see from 2001 to 2002.
    If i use the call redirect step,then i see from 2001 to 2002 and the call works normally.I just can't use the call redirect cause there is no (no answer option) under it .So  if the called number didn't answer within 10 sec ,with the call redirect i can't take an action but with the place the call step,i can.
    Help will be so appreciated.

    2- In the consult transfer step,what are the "output digits" field for?
    i used a string variable just to fill the fields,but i didn't see any digits in it when i used the  debug !
