Help! My adobe photoshop elements 9 won't work when i open it up!

Help, please! I have a Adobe Photoshop elements 9 and everytime i save a picture then the next day i try to open my save picture it tells me "This product has encountered a problem which requires that you restart your computer before it can be launched.
If you continue to see this message after restarting your computer, (which i do) Please contact either your IT or adobe tectnical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen

They told me they couldn't help me with this problem or the chat and phone support doesn't help with people who have Adobe Photoshop elements 9 anymore. What should i do?

That is a licensing error, it has nothing to do with opening files, just with opening the application. Check our documentation on this error:

    Have you checked whether you have folder for PSE Organizer?  It is normally at this location in Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1:
    <C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer>
    If the folder is there then try double-clicking on the file called:  PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe
    If the folder isn't there at all then you need to re-install the package again using your original disks or from download from Adobe website.  <Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10>

    1. Clean the superdrive with a proprietory CD/DVD lens cleaner that uses tiny brushes.
    2. Perform an SMC reset:

    It could be a coincidence, but I rebooted the machine and (knock on wood) PSE13 seems to be working ok.

    I've just purchased Adobe Photshop Elements 13 but can't find any proper Help. When I click on Help on the File menu, I am taken to a web page (Photoshop Elements Help | Photoshop Elements Help). It doesn't matter what I am doing (e.g. using the clone tool or trying to apply kerning for example), I always end up on this same non-context-sensitive web page. I am an experienced user of graphics software but am new to Photoshop Elements.
    I'm trying to kern some text characters so I entered "kerning" in the Search field. The first "hit" was InDesign Help | Kerning and tracking but nothing they say seems to apply to my particular version of Photoshop Elemts - whcih being V13 is hopefully the latest. And who are they? Are they an official voice for Adobe? Their "help" was way off.
    Could someone point me to the Help for Adobe Photoshop Elements 13?
    As an aside, why does Adobe hit one with a 27 page legal agreement before one can install the software? I confess I didn't have my lawyer with me and may not have read all 27 pages.

    I don't believe that you can kern in PSE as it comes out of the box. However, there is a very affordable add-on which allows one to do this. It is version specific.

    BTW, Elements 13 itself is really good. I'm really pleased with its features and ease of use. It would just be nice to locate the relevant help more easily.
    There are available several books which augment the native help files. Photoshop Elements - The Missing Manual - by Barbara Brundage is excellent.     Running Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 is sluggish when moving between pictures on new iMac. I have a standard 21" iMac with 8 gb of RAM, but it still sticks for up to 30 seconds when switching pictures in organizer or other functions.  How can I get it more responsive?

    How large is your HD & how much space do you have left?  Make sure you are using the latest version of APE. 
    You should also contact Adobe Support and/or post in the Adobe Forums since it's their product.

  • PLEASE HELP! Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 editor won't open!!

    Hi! I'm new to the forums and to Adobe. So, I'm a little clueless about all this stuff.
    WELL
    everytime I click my Photoshop icon the welcome screen appears and the editor begins to load.
    However, the screen doesn't pop up at all. Just the welcome screen. It just shows the Photoshop Elements editor's small window on the bottom of my screen. I click on it and the editor doesn't show up at all.
    It did this a couple of times before. But, now the editor isn't showing.
    My organizer works just fine, but I'm wondering if I can somehow open Photoshop's editor on the organizer?
    If you could please PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME and reply as soon as possible! I would love to draw  and color on Photoshop again as soon as I have fix this problem!

    Try making a direct desktop icon for the Organizer and Editor and that will bypass the welcome screen and any advertising.
    On Windows right click on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
    Browse to Computer OS C:
    And find the PSE Organizer application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
    Inside the Adobe >> Photoshop Elements Organizer (yellow folder) you are looking for an application file “PhotoshopEementsOrganizer” with six small icons (e.g. representing thumbnails)
    Select it and click OK
    Click next
    Rename by taking out Photoshop Elements leaving just the word Organizer
    Then click finish
    You should now be able to launch directly form the desktop by double clicking on the icon.
    You can set up a similar direct link to the Editor application (.exe file which has the blue PSE icon). As before take out Photoshop Elements just leaving the description Editor and it will show up clearly on the desktop.
     You can keep the standard Photoshop icon which links to the welcome screen but I prefer to delete it from the desktop. If you ever need to get to the welcome screen you simply click Window >>Welcome on the top menu when the application is open.

    Photoshop elements 11 suddendly stopped working. I have worked with the program the last couples of years and never had a issue until now.
    I have not change any settings in my computer. Windows 7 (64).
    I have read in other forums, it may be caused by a windows update or antivirus. What do I need to do to have my software work again? I would really appreciate if you can help me resolving this issue.

    I have exactly the same problem.  After useing Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 for more than a year, I get the same error message after I chose the edit option.  I have not used the program in a few weeks, so I cannot guess what other program was updated that might have affected the performace of Photoshop.  But, Photoshop does work in Safe Mode.  So, there is something that suddendly is in conflict.  Unfortunately for me, the first things I tried were to remove and reinstall Photoshop a few times.  Now my restore system option of Win7 is not available for a date far enough in history to get Photoshop to work again.  I have removed all software that used to open at Startup.  I have tried to open Photoshop as an administrator and also with various compatibility settings to now avail. I have checked the installation logs and there are no errors.
    Seeing that the prevous forum post is from February 2014, I am assuming that no one viewing this forum is going to help me with this problem either, but I can try to remain optimistic.  I'm out of other options for getting help.  I'm not excited by the idea of reinstalling all my software again and the hours of my time that will take, especially when I don't even know that this will help.

    I recently activated Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 from my brand new tablet bundle. The first few times it would work and I had fun fiddling around with a new editting program. Now though, every time I attempt to open the editting program it loads up then immediately says it has stopped working, and all I can do is close it. I am running a Windows 7 64 bit HP Pavillion g series laptop. Any help on this issue? I would like to start using my new toy.

    Quit the editor, then restart it while holding down ctrl+alt+shift. Keep the keys down till you see  a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do.

    Every time I open up Adobe Photoshop Elements 3, and everything is all loaded up like the panel and everything, and then it just automatically stops. Like the program just quits itself, and a small window comes up saying that the program has quit after restarting. And there is Ignore, Cancel, Restart. I have no idea hwat is wrong with it! I have opened up and used it before SO many times!

    Thank you I will definitely give that a try. I hope it works. I might just reinstall it instead of doing the other accounts stuff. I also have trouble with the Photo booth effects.
    Every time I go to the 6th one, like I clicked on it and then it just quits. It works on my guest account, but not on this one How can I get it to work?

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer Stops Working due to Sony AVCHD files

    Hello I installed Adobe Photoshop elements and have been having trouble with it crashing.
    To solve this problem I deleted my Catalog and added a Catalog with only one folder.
    This folder has photos, in JPEG and Sony .ARW format as well as AVCHD files.
    I found that by removiing the AVCHD files from the catalog the SW would no longer crash.
    This really is not a practical solution since my PC has many folders with many AVC files.
    I am trying to see if there is a SW patch or another way to address this issue.

    It might work but this is not a practical solution.
    I have many picture folders on my pc and several of these have AVC files.
    My intention was to use Photo Shop Essentials to edit my pictures. Unfortunately the "Organizer" app crashes when trying to work with my Catalog.
    I have narrowed it down to only happening when there are AVC files in my folders. I have seen others have this issue and I found the issue by what they recommended.
    Sadly if I am unable to get this to work with my current folders I will have to dump Essentials for another application.
