Help! My BlackBerry is dead!

Hi All,
My first post...
I have had my BlackBerry Z10 now for about 3 months second hand from someone. Last night, I was texting someone, and went back to the main screen, I cliked on "WhatsApp" and it wasen't opening, however it was achknowledging that I had clikced on it... I decided to hold down the power button to restart it, it was in the middle of restarting, and was stuck on the BlackBerry logo for a good 15 minutes, so I decided to pull out the battery... BIG mistake, the BlackBerry is now completely dead, no sign of life unless:
If I plug in the charger with the battery out, the red light comes on for 1 second then off.
If the battery is in and the charger, if I hold down the power button, after 10 seconds the red light will flash red for half a second
I'm having a feeling I've screwed up the software.
Any help would be appreciated?
Regards,
Jason

You may need iTunes 10.5 or later. That requires OSX 10.5.8 or later.

Help iphone 4S went dead, I did not drop it, docked to PC and error came up that it can't be restored

    Hi
I followed this guy's instructions and it worked:
    http://evsiphone.blogspot.com/2009/05/iphone-iphone-could-not-be-restored.html
I did disable the security (AVG and Zone Alarm) when I tried on my own PC. My wife's laptop which eventually got it working also uses AVG and Zone Alarm but on an XP O/S whereas my PC is Vista - maybe this is why.
    Cheers for you help.

  • How to gain access to "what's new in Leopard" etc since HELP in OS is dead

Since the links in my Apple HELP seem to be dead in spite of trying all of the suggestions here on the board (and apparently I'm not alone - others are having problems with Apple HELP as well), does anybody have an alternative way I can gain access to these links?
I just got my Mac and was hoping to sit down and take a little tour, et al to become acquainted with new features, etc. of this newest of Apple's OS. Suggestions?

I have no idea what is wrong. If, instead of typing something in the Search box, you simply click the Mac Help link below the search box does the Help viewer launch? If not, what message do you see in the Console?
Since the stuff is all written in perfectly normal html, it used to be relatively easy to browse the help files with Safari. That is no longer the case, since they has seen fit to make all the links some weirdo thing that automatically opens the Help Viewer. However, all the pages are actually here:
    "/Library/Documentation/Help/MacHelp.help"
Control click and select "Show Package Contents" then open the Contents folder, the Resources folder and English.lproj folder. All the html pages are in there, and each one will open when double clicked in Safari. However because the links specify something strange, clicking on one opens the page in Help Viewer rather than Safari. It is possible to figure out what is where, but it isn't easy and it isn't convenient. You would be better off to just browse Apple's web site, starting here:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/
Personally, I find the new Help more annoying that helpful anyway--the Help window is programmed to always stay on top, thus making it impossible to work back and forth between it and whatever you are doing, unless you have two monitors and can move it to the second monitor.

  • Need help from Blackberry - Can't register 9860 in BB network.

Yesterday I have bought a 9860 torch from an online auction site in Romania. The phone is looking great, working great, except I cannot register it on the blackberry network, in order to use an internet data plan. As soon as I turned the phone on, the yesOPTUS carrier logo appeared on the screen, indicating that this device once belonged to someone in Australia. My carrier is Orange Romania and I am using it on a pre-paid SIM card with the "blackberry unlimited 4" internet option that Orange offers in Romania. When I try to go to Host Routing Table in the phone's menu, there is nothing displayed there. I tried to send the registration message and remove the battery (while the decice is ON) and put it back in, with no result. I have spent a day on the phone with the data plans support team at Orange Romania, virtually troubleshooting every possibility to connect the device to the bb network - they even created a bb access point specifically for my phone number - everything without result. When I tried to create a blackberry account on blackberry.orange.ro with my PIN and IMEI, the page replied that my account is disabled and that I should contact my carrier. Which I did. And they said that I should either talk to Blackberry or yesOPTUS, as there is a possibility that my device is already registered with the BB network on the yesOPTUS, from it's first owner back in Australia, and that my PIN may need to be erased from a database in order to be re-synced with my carrier. The way I see it, it's either that, or Orange does not carry the 9860 in their network (yet?). The certain fact is that I ended up with a beautiful device that I can't use to it's fully potential. Any help from Blackberry is fully appreciated. Thanks.

Optus is in the only one that can remove the PIN/IMEI from their system. You need to contact them.
If the device has been reported lost or stolen, they won't remove it.

  • With out the ability to sync OUTLOOK to the Z10 or Q10, BLACKBERRY IS DEAD TO ME

I have been loyal, loyal, loyal.  My Style is USB connected to my PC right now.  Every employee of my company has the same handset and the same sync.  We live and work with OUTLOOK and the sync.  I only purchase Blackberry handsets for the company because they sync...SEAMLESSLY with OUTLOOK.
As I stated in the title: with out the ability to sync OUTLOOK to the Z10 or Q10, BLACKBERRY IS DEAD TO ME.
BTW, WHO FREAK'N MADE THIS DECISION???????

I agree.... its absoulutely unacceptable that there is no sync to Outlook ... I have researched and tried for hours to find a way to at least upload my contacts. there is some stupid instructions on how to put my old phone SIM card into the Z10 and do an upload... does not work... so I assume they mean an older blackberry .. not an iPhone... they should state this .. the instructions are not great. Even if I was to do a one time upload, I still woudl not have a sync. this is the most basic of requirements... I like the phone but it will be returned if I can't get a sync to outlook in short order.
I Assume THEY WANT TO SWAY iPHONE USERS.... this will be a killer for a lot of new Z10ers.

  • Help with finding address book from device manager on computer, Blackberry is dead

My pearl got wet the other day. I dried it out took it apart and a day later put it on. it worked for 10 mins. Now its dead. When the tech at At& t looked at my sim card said nothing was on it. I had synched the phone about 2 3 weeks ago, so figured i could get the info from there except cant find the file. have tried a few suggestions on here like searching for .ipd file but dont have any. Where would it synch too? If i cant find it? got a feeling the worst news i lost everything but hoping for a miracle.

    Treasurercay25:
Oh, man. Heart goes out to you.
You wouldn't have any synced files from Outlook on the new hard drive since you never sync'd to it. Do you remember how you sync'd to the pc? As an ascii (text) file or what did you select when setting up your synchronization settings? You know, the screen where you selected Outlook on the old hard drive.  Step 5 in this sample link
Lifted this from sdgardne in another thread:
If you don't want to shift PIM's, then you have an option to export, from your current PIM, into ASCII or CSV format...which can be imported via the RIM software into the BB. You won't get sync, but you'll at least get a 1-time import of your stuff. If you want to follow that path, then this KB applies:
KB04312 Create and synchronize with an ASCII export file
Let is know how you'd like to proceed. Cheers!
I'll have to think on this one, but try to get the date, range of dates, when you think you last sync'd with the pc.
You could then do a search for that file type within that date range.
Hang in there. . Other users may also have other ideas as well.

  • Help! Blackberry Curve 8530 won't go to Home screen only stays at carrier screen!

The other day I updated my Quick Pull app. I forgot to reset the times in which i wanted it to reboot. Last night I remembered and set the time. I normally set it for 3, but since it was 3 it wouldn't be able to reboot until this evening. After I was done with my phone, I rebooted it manually by going to the app and clicking reboot. My battery was also low in the red so I stuck the charger in it. When I woke up this morning my phone was dead, if had fell on the floor and the charger came out. I put the charger back in a waited a little while for it to charge. When it came on, it only went to the Cricket screen, but would not go to the home screen. I took the battery out multiple times, I waited patiently, yet my phone is still stuck on the cricket screen.. Is there anyway to reset it so that it can work again?

    Please try this first:
Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the charging cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage). If it doesn't reboot on the first attempt, leave it several more hours. I've had one charge for two days before it came back to life after an extreme battery depletion. Every 3-4 hours, with the device still connected to the charger, you can remove and replace the battery to see if it reboots.

  • Blackberry Curve - dead!?!

Hi.  Can anybody help?  I'm a technophobe so am at a total loss.  I charged my curve up this am.  Sent a couple of texts at lunchtime.  Watched the National, looked at my curve - dead as a dodo! HEEELLLPP!!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Put it onto a charger. Leave it totally alone for at least 2 hours. See if it comes back to life.
There are a number of possible reasons for what happened...determining what it was would require being there at the time it happened and seeing it...not quite possible. But, an app could have been left running. Something could have gone haywire. Your battery could be defective. Your BB could be defective. Really, there's no way to tell yet...so let's see what happens in 2 hours.
    Good luck!

  • Blackberry Playbook dead

okay my blackberry playbook was dead just before I needed to travel overseas. It started with the blinking lights before my trip but after 2 months the blackberry doesn't charge, light on or anything. Even with the rapid charger. I assume my battery is completely dead at 0v? Anyway to charge it still. I have charged the device for about a week straight and nothing happens still. The Blackberry Playbook is on OS 2.0

I understand that you dont get any LED blinking when you connect the Playbook to the charger. Have you tried connecting the playbook to a different normal playbook charger.

  • Blackberry 8520 dead

HI so i have this blackberry 8520, its not working. Dead, no blinking green light, no red light. It was working fine few days ago but suddenly i felt that the battery's hetting hot, literally. after a few hours, battery was already drained. I tried charging it but it wont charge, so i decided to buy a new battery. I used the new battery then my phone came back to life! HOWEVER, i noticed that the new battery is getting hot also just like what happened with my previous battery. I woke up in the morning and saw my bb dead again. Now, im trying to charge it for 2 dAYS cause i heard from a friend that her bb would usually charge 2 days if her battery was drained.   What should i do? Can THIS PROBLEM BE FIXED? I suppose that the fone's not that busted cause it works when the battery is new but it would just drain the battery.  HELP! thankyou so much!

I would also like to know what is wrong cause my bb is doing exactly the same... HELP please?

  • Could I have some help identifying and fixing dead/stuck/hot pixel?

Hello, yesterday whilst watching a movie on my Macbook Pro I noticed something on my screen, at first I thought it was just something stuck on the screen but it seems to be an issue with a pixel. I would appreciate help regarding identifying if it's a dead, stuck or hot pixel and any ways of fixing it. It seems to be smaller than what I had previously experienced (on other machines) dead/hot/stuck pixels to be and I can't really tell if it's white or a light blue. It doesn't show up on any colour other than greys and blacks.
Also, is it likely that taking it to an apple store will yield results if it's still in warranty and I explain that as a photographer it's a very annoying thing to have on almost the centre of the screen.
I hope you guys can provide me with some help, it will be much appreciated.
    Stefano.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
That's a dead pixel or it may be dust, too. In both cases, as your computer is in warranty, take it to an Apple Store or reseller and you should get the display replaced for free, even if it's only one pixel.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's dust. I have seen a lot of cases related to dust in this forum, but it has got the same solution as the dead pixel

  • I need help with BlackBerry 8820's bluetooth issue

    Hi!
Please accept my appology of my poor English.
My 8820 has a bluetooth issue with Bluedio E9+ headset. It must be note that the headset works well with another phone (not BlackBerry). My BlackBerry can't actively connects to bluetooth headset by the method 'Menu' key > 'Connect' option, but still able to receives connection request from the headset and pairs with the headset when i choose Yes. At this point I can use bluetooth function for data transfering, Voice Dialing and music playback (i.e. mp3 files). But each time I try a mp4 file with default video player in Media folder, its audio will never work with the bluetooth function, and the phone's speakers is automatically enabled. I try the menu when the video was playing, but there are only Activate Handset and Active Speakerphone options. Then I was converted the file with BlackBerry Video Converter Pro; I remove and reinsert the battery; I wipe the phone and install new ROM,... But none of them work.
    Please help!
