Help! my bluetooth doesn't work at college

I have a PowerBook G4 with a wireless mouse. I also have a USB bluetooth adapter for my HP photosmart 8150 printer. Both worked fine when I was at my house, and now that I am at college, neither work! My Bluetooth is always unavaible, and I do not understand why. There is a public wireless network here that we use as well as the ethernet one. One of my friends in a dorm without the wireless has the mouse, and hers works perfectly. Is the wireless network interfering? I used wireless at my house, and it worked fine! Help, I don't understand the details of Bluetooth. Thank you!

Welcome to Apple discussions.
There are several possibilities. The college wireless network could be causing some interference. Try this:
Unplug everything from your computer. Take the battery out for awhile (I know, this sounds a bit hokey, but I have read that this can help). Start your computer. If the Bluetooth icon is missing, it could have failed (I am assuming you have a built-in Bluetooth module).
Oh, make sure that the Bluetooth module was not shut off by accident.

I had the same problem, after trying all resets and sugestions the problem persisted.
I took it to my carrier and they done their own test and gave me a new iPhone. Simple.
Problem solved!
If your Iphone is under warranty don't worry about it. But try a hard reset.

Bluetooth doesn´t work anymore

I am using an Iphone 5s. After I updater to IOS 7.1.2 bluetooth doesn´t work anymore. I ran all troubleshooting methods that Apple advised with no success. Any idea?

[Solved] ASUS F3Ka bluetooth doesn't work

Can anybody help me with getting bluetooth to work on ASUS F3Ka please?

some stuff ive noticed with laptops and bluetooth...
- bluetooth/wireless works in a lenovo i recently installed ubuntu in only after I suspend to ram. This is due to some weird Radio kill switch bug
- sometimes leaving bluetooth and wireless turned on on wiindows has its effects in linux, because windows drivers sometimes do not release control of the hardware. So try a cold boot, and if that doesn't work, a reboot from windows...'
- try variants of leaving the bluetooth switch on/off during the boot process
none of these actually seem like logical solutions, but thats how bluetooth/wireless and linux sometimes is..good luck!

In most cars with built-in BT hands-free systems it is the car's system that does the speech to text conversion and lookup, not the phone's. so there's nothing that can be done in an iPhone forum to help you. Try the customer support site for the car. You can tell it's the car system if the contact list is downloaded to the car and displayed on the car's screen (if it has one).

Bluetooth doesn't work after sleep mode wake up

Okay, so my computer goes to sleep while in Windows XP and I wake is up. I have my bluetooth mouse and keyboard hooked up to it and I try to wake them up. My mouse doesn't reconnect. I notice that my computer also says that it's not connected to my wireless network, but the my web browser and messenger still connect fine. I check my bluetooth preferences to find out that nothing is connected and when I try to reconnect it doesn't work. This never used to happen and it just recently started when I reinstalled windows this past week. The only way I could get the devices to reconnect was to reboot and even then when my computer goes back to sleep they still disconnect.
Anyone else have this problem... or better yet, an answer?

How did you actually solve your problem ?

Bluetooth has stopped working after E90 firmware update.
The following on-screen message is shown: "Unable to perform Bluetooth operation!"
P.S. Reinstalling firmware via Nokia software update doesn't help at all. If connectivity problem still can be solved with USB cable, the worst tning is that I can't use my phone's BT handsfree when driving.

No information as to what device you are using, but try deleting E:\CITIES + .qf file from memory card then restart OVI Maps application to re-define folder structure required to download regional mapping using OVI Suite.

Help, why keyRepeated doesn't work

Hello,
I created a class to extend GameCanvas in midp2.0. In this class, I overwrote "keyPressed ()","keyReleased()","keyRepeated()" three methods.
"keyPressed ()","keyReleased()" both work very well to capture the key.
But keyRepeated doesn't work. It looks it hasn't been called back by system.
I used wtk2.0 DefaultColorPhone to test the code. Does the emulator not support KeyRepeated() ?
Can anybody help me this?

i not using wtk 2.0 but u can try hasRepeatEvents method to check the availability of repeat actions

Bluetooth doesn't work on iPhone6 and no restore from iTunes

Once again Apple released a buggy phone. Much like the iPhone5, iPhone6 has already shown issues in the connectivity department. Thousands of users have already blogged about it all over the internet, so I hope that Apple steps up to the plate and fixes the issue ASAP.
Bluetooth DOES NOT WORK! Tested repeatedly on my 2014 Super Duty, 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, 2014 Ford Mustang GT, 2013 Scion FR-S. The device struggled to pair on each and every vehicle. Once finally conncted the voice commands don't work, and good luck trying to answer the phone!! If you manage to (highly unlikely), the conversation is possible only through the phone, not through Bluetooth.
Get with the program Apple. If you released a phone that was not ready for release just to compete with Samsung, LG and HTC, that says a lot about your company. The customers are not guinea pigs - If you intended to use the public as testers, you should have given all of us a considerable discount on the purchase and warned us about the potential bugs.
Additionally the data restore from iPhone5 through both iTunes (v11.4.0.18 which is the latest one) and/or iCloud, doesn't work either. My iPhone5 was successfully updated to IOS8 and backed up on iTunes. As soon as I connected the iPhone6 and tried to restore the backup, an untrue pop up saying "iTunes cannot restore your backup because it's either corrupted or incompatible with this device" showed on my screen. I performed 5 backups of my iPhone5 through iTunes (all of them competed successfully by the way), but each time I tried to restore them on the iPhone6, I got the same error message.
Being an IT guy I started fiddling with settings, hidden files, locked files, until I got it to work by simply checking the "encrypt backup" box in iTunes. It was a big waste of time, and it would be nice if Apple knew about these issues before they released a new phone.
P.S. THe internet is full of blogs about this backup restore issue on iPhone6: obviously I was not the only one.

I'm sorry you're not having a positive experience. I set up two iPhone 6's from iPhone 5 backup's via Wifi and paired both seamlessly with our 2012 Mercedes cars without an difficulty.
I don't know if this is your first post, but you are not writing Apple on this forum. This is a user to user forum and you are only writing other users. If you are not pleased, feel free to contact Apple directly via the link I've supplied. I hope you get your issues resolved to your satisfaction. But because you are having issues, does not mean everyone is. I know lot's of people who now have iPhone 6. None of them have experienced any issues pairing to their cars Bluetooth system, or setting them up from previous phone backups.

First make sure your Bluetooth is turned on by swiping upward and clicking the Bluetooth icon on Control Center. If that isn't the problem make sure you delete your previous pairing completely with the car and with any other previously connected Bluetooth device. The pair the iPhone with the vehicle and with other devices.

IPhone 4 bluetooth doesn't work

I have an iPhone 4. A couple weeks ago the Bluetooth function stopped working. When I click on the bluetooth function, only the rotating disk appears, I can not turn on or turn off the bluetooth. I tried everything, restart, restore, restore from recovery mode, put it in plaine mode, resore network propertys. Can anyone help.
