    Amanat,
you need to post your model number which can be found on the system itself, please see following link, or post the Lenovo part number.  This will enable Shiva to check that your system should have Bluetooth; not all G470s have Bluetooth.

  • I have a laptop an hp dv6700 and can't get the DVD/CD to show in device manager. And more

Please check this link ( http://www.fixya.com/support/r10473895-cd_dvd_drive_not_detecting_working) and answer this question for me. I don't know what this means of the explanation as in UpperFilter or LowerFilter. The rest I have done.
Now look for UpperFilter or LowerFilter or both in the right pane.
Right click on UpperFilter and/or LowerFilter and delete them.
Press F5 key once and close the registry editor.

    Okay, let's check the following:
    >> Do you see the DVD drive listed in "Computer" explorer? double click on it to open.
    >> Do you see the DVD drive listed in the device manager??
(Click Start and type "device" in the search field, then select Device Manager >> check for CD/DVD drive listing.)
    >> Is the DVD drive listed in the BIOS?
(Restart Your PC and start tapping F10 key, once you are in setup screen go to boot options, check for the listed devices)
also please download and run this program:

  • My dvd drive not recognized in device manager, getting the yellow explanation mark.

my dvd drive not recognized in device manager, getting the yellow explanation mark. Tried uninstallingdevice drive and scanning for new hardware. scanned for updates, etc. I getting no results. The laptop is a Pavilion DV5. Thanks

    Hi,
It could be that the drive has a Hardware issue, but try the following.
From the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'.  In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.
sfc /scannow                 ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )
Let the process complete, then type exit and hit enter.
Next, open Device Manager, right click the DVD drive and select Uninstall.  When this has completed, restart the notebook and let Windows rediscover the device and check.

  • G500 dedicated AMD Radeon card missing in device manager

    Greetings to all,
I've got Lenovo G500 laptop (i5, 6GB RAM, Intel HD4000 + ATI Radeon 8750HD, Win 8.1) and I am experiencing a serious problem. Yesterday my laptop suddenly freezed during watching a TV show and I was forced to restart it. After restart I received a message, that AMD Catalyst and hydravision doesn't work properly and I should reinstall drivers. So I did but after that, nothing worked properly and my radeon card was missing in device manager, just intel HD was present. I've read throughout this whole forum and I couldn't find a solution; I've tried everything, reinstallation of all drivers, both AMD and Intel, I've tried installation of older drivers, then newer, I've tried to check BIOS, where it all seemed all right (switchable graphics were enabled) and as last option I've reinstalled whole system - back to the factory settings. But my AMD Radeon card is still not present in the system, it seems like it was not ever there. I've tried to find it via that app which finds any hardware, but without any positive result. When I try to run catalyst center, it says "can't run catalyst, no actual settings which could be configured by catalyst control center". I've tried to play various games (far cry 3, mass effect 2, metro redux) with positive outcome, it runs the same way as it did before, but!! - I've got this feeling it always ran on intel hd card...As many others, since the beginning of my laptop purchase I had that problem where everything runs on integrated card instead on the dedicated, but I did not pay much attention to it, since it worked smoothly anyway. I'm not hardcore gamer, or a gamer at all anyway.....so to sum everything up, I think my radeon card is burned or damaged somehow and it didn't work since the very beginning. But still, I would love to get more professional opinion, because it is simply weird, it is missing in device manager. And one more thing, everytime I close the screen end reopen it later, system freezes or something doesn't work or some other inconvenience, leading to forced restart of the system. I thought it's caused by Win 8, because, honestly, that system sucks, but right now I think it's got something to do with that video card problem.
Thanks in advance and have a nice day ;-)

The NIC is defective... As far as Windows is concerned there is no NIC so the driver will not install.
Motherboard replacement is a bit extreme for just a broken NIC. Its possible to get a USB to Ethernet cable:

  • Why is that the switches tab is missing from device management  page of my Aruba Central account?

Q: Why is that the switches tab is missing from device management page of my Aruba Central account?
A: Aruba Central is a cloud-based platform that enables you to manage your Aruba Wi-Fi network. Designed as a software-as-a-service (SAAS) subscription, Central provides a standard web-based interface that allows you to configure and monitor Instant Access Points (IAPs) and Mobility Access Switches.
Switches tab is available only when the end-user's aruba central account have the license to manage the switches. If only IAP license is available, then switches tab do not appear in device management page of Aruba Central.

  • HELP!MY DVD PLAYER IS...

So I've been having this problem with my dvd player.Everytime I turn it on,it says "init" and thats not a norm for it.Then it doesn't want to play dvd's or cd's anymore. It constintly says "no disk" wth! It'a only about 5 years old,adn has worked great up until resently. It's an Apex ad-1700M.If I can get help with fixing it,or even solutions to why it suddenly bailed on me,I would appreciate it.Thank you!

"Init" sounds like "initialize", or in other words, a software error.
You say "only" five years old. That's pretty old in the world of electronics. Combine that with a bargain basement brand like Apex and this sounds normal.
It's not worth it to fix it. It's worth less than $5 now, even if it was working. It's time to buy a new DVD player. Buy a decent brand this time.

  • DVD Player.app missing?

I tried the search, sorry if it has been posted before.
I bought a brand new MacBook Pro (the most basic model) two weeks ago and recently noticed that my Leopard lacks the DVD Player software. As of such Front Row usually displays just a blank screen when I try to watch DVDs. The DVD drive itself shows on all the system profiles etc, plays and burns cds perfectly and DVD's with VLC. Some other software refuse to play dvds because the region code isn't set up, which is quite difficult to do, without the DVD Player.app I searched both Leopard install discs that came with the machine and they too, lacked the DVD Player.app.
Any help would be very, very appreciated.

It's on your install DVD, but in an Archive ...
Grab a copy of Pacifist and you will be able to look inside them and Extract the one item you want to re-install.

  • Dv9913cl Notebook not showing DVD drive in system or Device manager, and more

I recently reinstalled the operating system on my stepfathers Pavillion dv9913cl notebook because it was slow and old. After I reinstalled windows I installed all of the drivers from HP's website, and made sure windows was completly up to date. I checked to make sure things on the computer worked, but I forgot to check the DVD drive.
So today when he went to put in a DVD it did not work. I was not present when he and my mom first tried using it, but this is what they passed on:
After putting in a DVD it took a few seconds and then something(I couldn't get them to tell me what) popped up saying something about the DVD region. I couln't get a clear answer on what it told them. My mother said something about it being the wrong region and something about selecting things like US English, and I don't know how what actually popped up for them. I also don't know were this path took them and ended.
Next apparently my mother went searching online. She found a Ask Yahoo that I couldn't relocate that told her to go into help, about windows media player. Then to go to Organize, then layout and show menu bar. Then step two she wrote down is About Windows Media Player -> tech.supportinfo. Specific File to determin codec. Right click file in Library - Properties on file tab - Audio Codec/Video Codec. (I don't know what she was attempting to do here and couldn't get a straight answer. I think the ask yahoo post told her she couldn't play the type of file because of a missing codec, but I dont think that is the problem, I inlcuded what she did though incase somehow it did something bad)
She did some other searching and tried to get into device manager I think to see what it said about the DVD device, but I am not 100%.
**So this is the poiny where I come home. I sit at the computer and pull up device manager.  The DVD device is not listed. I looked at every single entry in device manager, nothing has an exclamation point, and nothing says DVD/CD device or anything close.
I went to HP driver website and pulled up the drivers for this laptop. There was not a particular driver there for the DVD player.
I resarted and went into the BIOS and went to the boot order options. The DVD drive does show up there. (I made no changes)
When I insert a DVD or CD nothing happens. I can hear the drive spinning, but nothing happens on the OS. nothing pops up. It doesnt show up in my computer, and I can't find the DVD or CD to play through any program.
I found this support article. https://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060
I tried all 5 of the resolutions. For resolution 3 I got to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}, but in the right pane there was nothing that said either UpperFilters or LowerFilters. When I did some searching I found some other people who had similar problems and fixed it by doing what is suggested in resolution 3 and deleting the entries for UpperFilters and LowerFilters, but they were never there for me to begin with.
Now I am at a loss on what to do next. It seems like when he first put the DVD in the computer it was recognizing the DVD since it said something about DVD region it must have known a DVD was in there, but I never saw that screen. By the time I got to the computer nothing happens when I put any DVD or CD in.
I apologize for the long post, and thank you for any help that can be provided. (Also I don't use Windows, so please try and explain things as layman as possible.)

    Hello RonFishing,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand the computer appears to be unable to play DVDs, and the required driver in Device Manager is not found. My response will not be as long as your post, but I will do what I can to assist you!
I do not know what Windows operating system you are running. This will be important in resolving the issue. In the meantime, I welcome you to try the steps in this HP document: Resolving DVD and Blu-ray Movie Problems (Windows 7)
Even though the document is for Windows 7, the steps are similar amongst all versions of Windows. Please try the steps and let me know the results.

  • CD/DVD Drive Not shown in Device Manager or Bios

I have a Satellite A215 series laptop and have found that my CD/DVD drive is missing from my computer and device manager.  It will not read discs, but powers up, seems to run, tray opens/closes, amber light flashes, etc.  It also powers up and spins during boot, but will not read the recovery disc.  It appears to also be missing in the Bios.  I have replaced the drive with another and have the same problem.  I have also tested my original drive in another laptop and it works.  I have tried removing upper and lower filters in the registry with no success.  Restore also did nothing.  I found this problem after recently adding a new Canon printer and software.  The drive worked flawlessly at that time.  Can anyone please shed light on this problem?  Any help is greatly appreciated!

please provide your full model number.  it is printed on the bottom of computer.
you should restore to out-of-box state.  you can order the disks from toshiba if you did not create them when your computer was working.  This installs the OS as well as the necessary toshiba drivers.

  • USB Controller Missing in Device Manager (HP Envy dv6t-7200)

    You're very welcome.
When you don't see a complete set of drivers for a selected operating system, that means HP doesn't really support that OS.
They used to not list any drivers for unsupported operating systems, so at least the partial list is better than nothing.
I know that doesn't help those who need drivers for a specific operating system, but some of us know where you can find them.

My system is a HP Envy 14 - 1240ep. I'm using BIOS F.23, I tried F.26, but the BIOS update didn't solve the problem.
I tried Disabling the BIOS option for LAN sleep mode, but that disn't solve it neither.
I have a clean install of Win7 Pro 64-bits, and tried to install the original SwSetup NIC dirvers (however, since I've got the error for unplugged cable, I'm not sure if everything went ok).
My NIC is in "comma" for 2 weeks now. During the past 2-3 months it would work sometimes after the cable was plugged in for 3-4 hours. In spite of turning on it would go off after any stand-by, restart or shutdown.
I'm starting to get empty of ideas to crack this problem.
    Any suggestion?
