Help! My computer is giving me all sorts of errors now!
Please help me someone, my computer is giving me all sorts of errors now and I dunno what happened. The only thing I can think of is that I went to a bad site or made a bad download possibly. I'm not exactly sure what went wrong or how...all I know is that I'm getting tons of directx errors and a few other errors. I tried reinstalling the latest directx but when I do the webinstaller for it, it then pops up with this message:
" a cabinet file cannot be trusted, please verify the cryptographic services are enabled and the cabinet certificate file is valid " - whatever the heck this error means????
I'm also getting a runtime error 9000 and also somehow my openGL got downgraded from the latest to only 1.1. I reinstalled the graphics display driver but am uncertain as to if it's fixed that or not. I presume this was happening because my display driver kept crashing occasionally at random times every so often? It always recovered itself so I didn't really think it was a problem but maybe it caused all this? There's a few other errors i've gotten but I don't remember those but they haven't showed up at all for now since I reinstalled the graphics driver so i'm hoping that's fixed.
What' i'm wondering though is if I should just do a system format to refresh and clean install everything back onto my computer again to restore everything to where it was similar to being new when I first bought it to fix this issue...problem is I made a system recovery disc but then it asks me for the toshiba media recovery disk and kicks my disc out when i boot from that asking for the media disk but I dunno how to create that or if I even have the right disc made to restore windows 7 since I looked on the disk and i noticed like only 3 files and 2 folders for booting so how the heck is that going to restore win 7 again onto your computer????? And the media disc for windows 7 I still can't figure out how to make either! Where do I find the information to fix these issues or even just do a reformat and reinstallation of everything onto my laptop?

Help! Itunes library problems of all sorts...
I've been exhaustively searching for ways to merge an old library with play counts etc from a backup to my new itunes library. That still is one question (I could find help for two computers, but couldn't figure out how to use two files on the same computer-ie back up and the active library) however now in trying to do that I have really screwed things up I think.
Here are all my problems- the most recent being that I ended up trying "import playlist" with my xml file...which resulted in a ton of duplicates and still no play counts etc. So now I am hoping to back up to my last library. I had been "exporting library" to back it up before trying these things...
however the problem I was having trying the "option" trick is still in effect. Which is that I do the option, I pick "choose the library" and then all of my .xml files are grey and unchoosable.
I think that I could choose the itunes library file that does NOT say .xml from my computer-- however, I had just created the whole library from my external harddrive, and I don't find one of those files there, only on my mac directly. So will this file be the one that has the thousands of songs I just spent the last days importing? (I did that before realizing the importance of the play count!).
My harddrive crashed before all of this, so I just have the backup file that is a grey square, not the color itunes logo that I am seeing on my computer now (and this is what isn't letting me choose it).
So I guess here are my questions:
Why can't I choose the .xml files?
Does the "export library" actually create a useable backup? If so, how do I restore it?
Then if I can fix this mess- my original goal- how to keep my newest library, while importing play counts/info from a backup .xml file.
MUCH thanks to anyone who can offer me some assistance!!!!!!!!Or the other option I am wondering about is if I can take all of the info off of my ipod, and then sync that with the new library?
Or, if need be, erase the current library. take the info from the ipod to create the base library that would have my play counts etc. However, then I would need to merge that with my master music data files, and there would be no way at this point to know which are on the ipod and which are not- so I'd need to be able to merge without duplicates.
What would you all suggest?? -

Just 2 days ago i uninstalled itunes because it wasn't letting me update to ios5. So i uninstalled it. Then when i tried to install it came up with

I uninstalled all my programs related to apple. But when i try to install itunes Bonjour and Apple Mobile Device always comes up again.

And a lot of my updates have failed by the way in the last couple of days!Yes me too, i wanted to update to ios5 on my iphone and ipad 2, but it said i must update to the latest version of itunes first. When i clicked on update it jusn't didn't do so!

Why are the JPEGS on my computer's hard drive all of a sudden now blank?
The JPEGS on my computer's hard drive are now blank (it reads 0kb, and the thumbnail is missing) and when I go to open it in Windows Photo Viewer it gives me an error saying that it doesn't exist. I noticed that this happens to almost all the photos I edited in Lightroom 5. I shot a whole season of football last year, all in JPEG format, and with my keepers I went ahead and edited them in Lightroom and now they're blank. I have never moved my photos anywhere. I shot the game last November, created the folder for that game, and that's it. I go almost a year later to print one of them out for my portfolio and the file is missing! Lightroom can show the photo but I can't make any adjustments in the development module because the file is blank on my computer. The weird part is that the thumbnail is there, the correct image number is there, and when I click to show in Explorer through Lightroom it pulls up the right JPEG, so the location is correct in Lightroom, just no thumbnail image and no full size image when I go to open it using Windows Photo Viewer. I checked other games I shot and it happened to almost every game.
If you have the photos on your camera cards, then obviously you can simply copy them to the appropriate locations.
There are Lightroom plug-ins that can retrieve the preview that Lightroom uses, but these will be smaller and lower in quality than the original. Maybe one of our plug-in experts can suggest the proper plug-in.
If the hard disk is really going bad, as I speculated, you would definitely want to get it replaced. If that is the case, you don't want to keep using it. You might want to run some disk diagnostics on it. -

Are these suggestions still viable as I have been getting all sorts of console errors which now seem to lead me to this researched destination? The suggestions involve putting "sudo" in Terminal Application and I am assuming that with all the console errors now being generated by my "permissions fixer" that this might be the reason...missed the class and updates as I never had problems like these before and the technology is changing. Have a whole list of console errors if someone is willing to help as I also think I have hit the motherload as to the reasons why?!

i cannot locate my music from itunes anywhere on my computer. i have a windows 8 computer. i tranfered all my music from one computer to another and now it is lost. is there an easier way to transfer music from one computer to another i did it via a external hard drive. please help i would love to listen to my music again.

When I print a photo to my epson printer, it comes out larger than the original photo - so the photo prints beyond the borders. Tried readjusting all sorts of things but nothing helps. I had this same problem with my Canon. any ideas?

On my iPhone, I have songs from a CD that I bought and no longer have. I now have a new computer and it is telling me that to move songs that I only have on my computer, I must erase all of the music from my iPhone (It also says that my phone is already synced with another computer so it has to download everything). I would like to keep all of the music on my Phone and still be able to have these songs from my computer on my iPhone. Help!
The iPhone is not a storage device. iPhone is designed to sync with 1 computer and
iPhone sync only one way computer -> iPhone except content bought from iTunes.

I can help you for the future. Regularly back up your computer to an external hard drive (or cloud alternative). If you have your library backed up, it could be reinstalled on your new computer. In your current situation, you will have to reload all of your CDs as syncing of non-iTunes purchased music is only one way (Computer to iPod)

I used utilities to source my 10.6 snow leopard install disc to my main hardrive, and now when I turn on my computer the apple with the spinning wheel stays on the screen and stuck like that. How do I fix it Help please. I already tried all the commands such as Command R, Holding down the Option key, C and holding down shift at the start up but nothing happens.
initialy All I was trying to do was downgrade 10.7 to 10.6 .You have to consider the possibility the hard drive may be dying. If your data isn't backed up, try one of the tools below:

if you already have that and it's windows then uninstall itunes
use regEdit you can type that in run or the likes and search and delete all hits you get on itunes
then reboot windows and install itunes again -

When you change the folder location like that, it changes where new songs and media are stored. To actually load the library you need to do this:
Steps to create or choose a different iTunes Library file
If iTunes is running, quit iTunes.
If you are using Windows, hold down the Shift key and from the Start menu and choose All Programs > iTunes > iTunes.
If you are using the Mac, open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option key.
You should see one of the following screens:
Additional information
If you do not see one of the screens above, then you did not hold the correct key at the correct time. You may want to try again. Note that if you pinned iTunes to the Start menu programs, and open it that way, it may not work.
