Help! My FCE just froze and I've made changes i havent yet saved!!!

I just went to import a photo and the spinning colorful pinwheel of doom appeared, and has stayed there for like twenty minutes. It is just my FCE that has frozen though because I can open and use other applications fine. I was running several other applications at the time of the freeze and now I can not get the FCE bar to appear at the top to even force quit, although I just laid a lot of voice overs and really would rather not loose my work:( Is there anything I can do? I'm working on a macbook 13"

Force Quit. Shut down & restart your Mac. Hope that FCE was able to save a backup copy of the state of your project in +Autosave Vault+ before it froze. Check your Autosave Vault folder after restarting your Mac.

Generally not a good idea when you are running Final Cut, even on a high end machine, which a 13" MacBook is not.

Hi go to ICloud & backup. Go to Seetings Restore to Factory Settings This will get rid of any bugs and make ipad like new. Just use Same Apple ID & password then you will get all your Apps & Data Back. Cheers Brian

If not successful and you can't turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour, try the above again.

since I got the same problem as pdfprincess I hope you can help me. The 'Automatically save document changes to temporary file...' is enabled in my adobe reader.
A file I worked (commented) on a lot crashed. When I reopened the file, adobe reader didn't ask if I want to restore my changes in this file, as it is written on the help.adobe.com page. Is there any possibility to restore the changes manually from the temporary file?
Thanks in advance - it is really important for me to restore these changes!!

My ipod touch just froze and wont come back to life...

Sometimes it freezes during the use of an app, but then i just hold the button on the top left and it goes to the black screen, then the apple icon appears and then its all good. But now it's just black and no matter what I do, it won't change from the black screen. It connects to iTunes, and it charges because you hear that click that happens when it starts to charge but the black screen continues to appear. It's glowing, so it's not dead. What can I do? Should I go to an Apple Store, have them look at it. Should I restore it, and if I do, will it keep all my songs in iTunes?

try holding down both the home button and the hold button. if that doesn't help try to restore the ipod touch. as long as your songs and everything are in the itunes library your songs should be fine.

Help, my iTunes froze and when I opened it back up, it looked like it did when I first installed it 2 yrs ago. An Apple rep helped me uninstall and reinstall about 2 weeks ago, but it did it again. My questions is this: My files are all there in iTunes Music file. How do I get them back on the application? My warranty expired Sunday 9-18-11. They were helping me with podcast issues and artwork being messed up so this is a different issue. I am so frustrated and my attempts are futile. Please help.

What did you do to iTunes and the library folder to troubleshoot the podcast issues? Try undoing whatever you did, you can also try looking for previous iTunes libraries folder or re-creating the iTunes library.
If that doesn't work, you'll have to import the music again.

Hi hellomynameisbrooke,
Try rebooting the iPod by pressing and holding the on/off and home buttons simultaneously until the screen goes blank and you see the apple logo. It should take about 10-15 seconds to reboot.
If that doesn't work, connect it to your computer and try restoring it via iTunes.

My computer froze while my iPod was plugged in. I had to shut down the computer by holding the shut down button and my iPod said 'OK to disconnect' and I then disconnected and it looked normal (on menu), then I turned it off, connected it to the computer (after restarting) and it didn't come up/work/be recognised in iTunes and after I did 'safely remove hardware' (which took ages) on the computer I tried to turn on my iPod and it's not working. Good news! I was so bored that my iPod wasn't working, I was going to read the Warranty booklet but instead pulled out the 'quick start' book and it said to hold the select and menu button until the apple logo comes on and it worked. My iPod's back alive and it seems to have all the music I put on there before the computer froze! Will it have lost play counts before that or not? It's not big cause I pay little attention anyway but it's still annoying

Connect iPhone to Wall Charger and Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart. This may take about 20 seconds time of holding both buttons.
If you decide you need to restore the firmware. Then open iTunes on computer, then connect iPhone to computer, then hold both Home and Power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually again takes about 20 seconds time of holding both buttons. Restore the Firmware.

Pages doesn't save automatically unless you write an Applescript to do it (search on 'auto save' in these Discussions.
You've had really bad luck there, Pages hasn't crashed or frozen on me once. You should be able to go back to your last saved version though.
