    I Already have forms on NT, can i convert my forms to Sun Solaris system without full development again.
    Thanks Alot for helping me

    Move the .FMB file to sun solaris and compile it there to get the .FMX in sun.
    Remember you should have sun solaris version of forms to compile the forms in that platform.
    Code changes are not necessary provided you have no platform specific (NT) code written in your application.

  • Help! Reverted from SL back to 10.5, now can't access old TM backups!

    Hi folks,
    So I decided to go back to Leopard after having too many problems with SL, particularly Office. I had to do an erase and install, and now when I try to restore from one of my pre-SL backups on TM, it says the entire TM drive is not accessible because it was created with a "Newer version of MAc OS X".
    Is there anything I can do to get my Backup drive back as an accessible TM? Or can I only just copy the data over and format the backup to a new TM system?
    Thanks!!

    Most likely, your Leopard install disc was an older version than the one you were last running from, and you didn't install the "combo" update to get back to it.
    But as Kiraly says, the best thing to do is a full restore of your entire system. See item #14 in the Frequently Asked Questions *User Tip* at the top of this forum.

  • How to restore a Oracle 9i Backup from Sun Solaris to Linux

    Dear all,
    I am using Oracle 9.0.1.
    I make a Hot Backup which made by Rman in the Sun Solaris

    Please help me, how can I install sun solaris 9 x86 on my HP E-Vectra PC.
    Kalpesh Mehta

    I had similar problems several months ago. I suspect this happens when host pc does not have floppy drive(or bios somehow misreports it) as it was in my case. Solaris 8 seems to work fine in the same environment, so I keep using it for now. Possible workaround might be to use DCA from Solaris 8: Installation of Sol9 started just fine after I entered Sol8 DCA and asked it to boot from Sol9 CD.
    Hope this problem will be fixed in subsequent Sol9 releases.

  • I need your help to resolve my problem - SunSparc V890, Solaris 10

    Hi all!
    I made myself one big problem!
    When I create one file named as dbora which is to be used to startup/shutdown automatically Oracle Database in Solaris 10, but I changed the owner of /etc from root to oracle users
    #chown -R oracle:dba /etcAnd so that, I did not connect to the OS by remote session, telnet, ssh or ftp. Searched in Google, I found one action which was described like
    Step 1: Boot in OS by CDRom in single mode users
    ok>boot cdrom -sStep 2: Find the disk which contains the root
    #formatStep 3: Mount this disk with making one temporary directory
    #mkdir a
    #mount /dev/******* /aStep 4: Re-change the owner of /etc
    #chown -R root /a/etcStep 5: Unmount the disk
    #unmoun /aStep 6: Reboot
    #rebootPlease help me! This is the urgent problem because of my production database still at there
    Thank you very much!

    There is an exact same problem opened in another forum:
    [http://www.unix.com/sun-solaris/69644-urgent-help.html|http://www.unix.com/sun-solaris/69644-urgent-help.html]
    There are solutions posted on this thread, and by looking at the OP' name from that forum, this is you, isn't it?
    Did the solutions posted there not work for you?
    By following the solution there, you'll be able to boot up and connect to the server. However, there are files/directories owned by root with different group. After doing so, you might want to compare with another system and apply right group ownership to files/directories under /etc.

  • Invoking Web Forms from Sun Solaris Client PC

    HI,
    Can any one tell me whether we can invoke Web forms in Sun Solaris Client PC. If yes what is the way, either do we need to use the Netscape Navigator browser or some thing else to invoke the same.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    S.Karthick

    Please post Forms questions on the Forms discussion board.
    You'll need a browser (netscape will do) and a JVM (you can use Sun's Java plug-in).
    More info on how to setup this configuration is here:

  • Help needed on installation of Oracle 9i on Sun Solaris 8

    Hey,
    Help needed on installation of Oracle 9i EE on Sun Solaris 8. The problem I met was: we followed the installation guide from the documentation. And we selected the choice "install software only". After it was done successfully, we run Database Configuration Assistant utility to create a database instance. But finally it always tried to create the instance at the root directory ( / ) which doesn't have enough space and then failed. The case was that we have set the enviroment parameters: $ORACLE_BASE = /export/mydata, $ORACLE_HOME = /export/apps/oracle9i. That means it should be installed at /export/mydata, but it didn't. Any help or advice are welcome. Thanks.
    Simon

    I have downloaded Oracle 11G R2 version from Windows and extracted it in Windows and copied it into DVD after extraction in two folders. Now I am mounting that DVD in Solaris 10 installed in my VMware . I made a new directory named as 'installation ' under /export/home/oracle and copied the folders from DVD to 'installation' folder. Now I am entering installation folder and try to do ./runInstaller as 'oracle ' user and getting the error mentioned before.

  • Migrate Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2 from Sun solaris to RHE Linux 32 bit.

    We are migrating the Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2 from Solaris two node to Linux two node including the database Oracle 10.2.04 64 bit.
    Since the applications only support 32 bit we are not able to store CM tier in a 64 bit Linux so with this considerations we are going with the below plan.
    1. Install RHEL 5 as a 32 bit for two nodes ( One for DB/CM and FORMS/WEB)
    2. Migrate the applications and DB from Solaris to Linux as the same node configuration that is
    Node A:
    Oracle DB 10.2.0.4 64 bit ( SUN oS 10 64bit) -> Oracle 10.2.0.5 32bit (RHEL 5 32 bit)
    Oracle Apps CM 11.5.10.2 (SUN OS 10 64bit) -> Oracle apps CM 32 bit(RHEL 5 32 bit)
    Node B:
    Oracle apps 11.5.10.2 forms (sun OS 10) -> Oracle apps 11.5.10.2 forms ( RHEL 5 32bit)
    Oracle apps WEB 11.5.10.2 (SUN OS 10) -> Oracle apps WEB 11.5.10.2 ( RHEL 5 32 bit).
    Question : 1. Did you see any snag on this kind of migration
    2. Any documentation to migrate the Oracle APPS 11i 10.2.0.4-64 bit database from Sun Solaris to oracle apps 11i 10.2.0.5-32 bit on Linux

    Hi,
    1. Did you see any snag on this kind of migrationWhy would you downgrade the db from 64 bit to 32 bit. As 32 Bit has lot of memory limitations.
    You could keep the database on 64 bit for linux too.
    2. Any documentation to migrate the Oracle APPS 11i 10.2.0.4-64 bit database from Sun Solaris to oracle apps 11i 10.2.0.5-32 bit on Linux Please see

  • JavaMail from Sun Solaris

    Ok, I am fairly new to Java. I am trying to send a simpole mail from our Sun Solaris box. With perl or shell I use the malix program. How do I get java to envoke the same program, or is it even possible. If not, is there a default SMPT mail program that comes with Sun Solaris that I can use as the name for the following code:
    props.put("mail.smtp.host", smtpServer);
    Session session = Session.getDefaultInstance(props, null);
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    What u can do is to envoke a class that uses props.put("mail.smtp.host", smtpServer);
