HELP!!My ibook won't boot (has nothing to do with the MAC OSX update)
My preview, i photo, and all other picture galleries weren't working so i turned the computer off and when i tried to turn it back up it got to the grey screen with turning wheel but wouldnt go further even after an hour.
Two questions:
1) is there anyway to remedy this w/o reinstalling?
2) is there anyway to backup what is saved on my computer?
The second question is much more important as I am a student and have all of my current work saved on my mac much of which i do not have hard copies of (I know it was stupid not to have hard copies or back it up prior to this).
if you can not boot up your OS, then it could be a simple glitch in the OS, or it could be totally corrupt. you should try and repair the disc.

An iPhone 5 comes with a single cable. It is a USB to Lightning connector cable that is used for charging, for syncing, and for transferring photos from the Camera Roll to your computer. There is no separate cable for charging.

Just recently my iPad started to get lazy on me I'll go on a website and it has trouble moving through the different applications within it. It has nothing to do with the wifi because it's doing it no matter what wifi it is using at the time?

When selecting playback from itunes library on Mac (purchased album from itunes!) i get random song played from that album and my selected song disappears from view. Nothing to do with shuffle.Mac OSX 10.6.8. Help, doing my nut in!!
What is your iTunes version?
If iTunes 11, have you checked the "Up Next" list? If it is not empty, try if clearing "UP Next" will help: -
I get a error message "To charge faster, use the cable and device that were provided with this phone" when charging my Samsung Galaxy note 3. I took it to a store last week and they said it has something to do with the last software update. They tried charging it at the store and got the same message. I was given another phone, I still get the same error with the new phone.

Has anyone had problems with the latest Lexmark printer driver update? My Lexmark printers won't work with the latest driver update. If I reinstall an older version of the drivers, they work.
Mine crashed once with new update, but working fine.
I had to delete old printer, restart iMac, and then reinstall
new drivers to get it to work. Would not complete without
the restart after deleting non-working printer. No problems

Help! iBook won't boot up after latest security upgrade....................
I have an iBook G4 12 inch screen mac. I have recently updated with the latest Apple security update (15/9/08)Since installing the update my iBook has failed to boot up successfully. There is no start-up chime and the boot stops at the grey screen with the Apple logo and goes no further. I have tried safe mode, won't go there, have tried various other tips, holding down various keys on start-up, all with no joy! Does anyone have the same problem and does anyone have any answers?! JimThanks, Cornelius. I am just afraid now, is it safe or should I forget about reinstalling the most recent update? It is moot right now though anyway, because I still can't get my computer to fully boot up. At least attempting to book with the OS 10.5 disc in the drive it does not power down, but it is getting stuck for a long time (over 30 minutes) on the gray startup screen with the apple and the DVD drive repeatedly spins and stops, then finally just seems to stop spinning and gives up.

Help - My machine won't boot and I cannot get into the BIOS - 990FXA-GD65
I have been trying to install an AHCI driver for use by WinXP, so far with no success (see this link: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=161637.0 )
However, following my last unsuccessful attempt, I had to take a break from running any more attempts and switched off the machine for several days.
I have come back to it tonight and I find that the machine won't boot at all and that pressing DEL or F11 after starting won't take me to the BIOS or the boot menu. The display shows nothing, other than 'No HDMI signal'
Are there any tests I can do to establish what might be wrong?

I tried a couple of cmos/battery clears, with no success.
Then I took out one stick of memory, cleared the cmos and it all worked on rebooting!
I put back the memory slug, cleared cmos again and it continues to work!!

Can you give the URLs of a couple problem pages?
Also, Firefox sometimes has font problems that IE doesn't have. If you check your Windows fonts folder, do you see any that are not Outline or TrueType fonts? These sometimes come with printers or Adobe creative products. No need to remove them at this point, but one diagnostic might be to move those out of the Fonts folder temporarily and see whether that helps. -

Well yes your close. I got it from Egypt and i am in Egypt now, but vodafone (one of our carriers ) has implemented the use of facetime to its customers here. I guessed the same in the begninig but even if it didnt, since im not using a simcard is that supposed to matter anyways?
It is no where to be found on my ipod, i searched. Also it is not being restricted or anything.
And anyways im goin to the UK next month and staying for a while, would the icon automatically appear, since it comes pre-installed im guessing i wont be able to install it from a unrestricted country (if this was the case) since it is not installed on my ipod in the first place.

My iMac won't boot. It stays loading with the Apple logo then it turns to a Do Not Enter logo
It only boots when it's on Safe Mode but when I restart to Normal Mode the problem continues
In addition to the article rkaufmann87 provided, try shutting down your iMac and unplugging absolutely everything from it, including its power cable. Let it sit for an hour or so, then re-attach the power cord and the keyboard & mouse and see if it will boot normally.

IBook won't boot up after a rest..
I hava the most weird problem with my iBook..
As I have it running, it works just fine.
I can boot it up, install software and do all sorts of things with it but when I turn it off and let it stay like that for like couple of hours, it won't boot up no more.
With the OS disk I can revive it, just now it took 5 tries, but it started and now as I shut it down and turn it on again there is no problem. But yet again, if I let it stand there for a hour or two, we are back in with the same problem, it won't finf the boot disk and needs to be revived with the OS intallation disk.
I reinstalled the whole (clean install) system today, had everything set up and installed all my software and such and there was no problem during the whole day, but now I had it turned off for few hours, it's just the same..
What might be the problem??Now there is a new HD and it works better than this iBook has ever done.

So, problem solved, not in a conventional way but solved.
Well, actually, pretty conventional. The average life of an internal HDD in a laptop is approximately 3 to 5 years, and even if they survive beyond that they can fail suddenly or else continue with progressively degraded performance until they expire. The new HDDs have larger capacities and faster rotational speeds, both of which significantly boost performance.

I'm looking for some help! I was just sitting here at my desk playing a game on my pc, when I look over at my powerbook, an update has come up. Itunes and Mac OSX update. I reach over to do the update, type in my password, close Itunes, update goes through the process. Finishes the update, and then says I need to restart. I restart the Powerbook, and says something about entourage fails, and the ball just continues to turn for about 15-20min. I panic, press and hold the power button to turn it off. I restart the Powerbook, and hear the ding like it is going to start up, but the display is blank, upon further investigation, I can see the apple in the back ground and the gear turning. The backlight isn't coming on, and the fans will turn on when I power it off, and power it on.. I think I have reset the pvram or whatever, by taking battery out, and holding down powerbutton for 5 secs, I power it back up and still doing the same thing. What happened, and is there anyway for me to get this fixed? I do have apple care, but last time they had to replace the logic board it took 2 weeks. I would try to put in the tiger cd, except I watch the movie Blow this afternoon on it, and it is still in there. I tried to eject the dvd and it won't do anything.
Please help me. What can I do?

If you cant see the screen at all, or if its very dark...like theres no backlight, i would suggest this to remove the disc.
immediatley after boot chime, press and hold the mouse button on the trackpad. this will automatically eject the disc in the drive, and make life easier for you.
also, try(seperately to removing the disc), after you hear the boot chime, press and hold apple-option-P-R, all together, untill you hear a second and 3rd boot chime then let them go. this may help revive your screen. otherwise, take it on in to the apple service provider. hopefully its something simple, but you never can tell.

hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by malware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].
