HELP!! my iPhone 4 won't turn back on!!

My phone shuts down sometimes even with full battery and I usually just restart it by holding the power button and the home button down at the same time. the problem is that now my phone is off BUT my power button is broken so I can't hold it and the home button down anymore to turn it on. I've already tried plugging it is but no luck. also, I 1. dont have the new software update so I can't get the button on the screen of the phone as a substitute and 2. my phone is already off so it won't help me

Sounds like it's time to purchase a replacement iPhone. The iPhone 4 has been out more than two years, so you got your money's worth out of it.

You need to hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release them both.

If your home button is broken and the phone does not charge anymore, you'll have to get it serviced.

My phone has been shutting off and coming back on randomly the past couple of days. I took it into my carrier today and they hooked it up to the computer and said that I just needed to update the software. This was fine, but by the time I got home my phone had shut off and I cannot get it to turn back on to do the updates.
I have been searching these forums for hours and the only solution I can find is to wipe the phone clean and put a new OS on it. I have downloaded a new OS and I have tried several times to put in onto the phone but I can't get it to work. I have opened the application loader, but when it gets to the device application selection screen, there are no options for me to select. I tried to go into my files and choose the OS that I just downloaded but an error pops up (XML syntax error on line1) to be specific.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do?

Delete the two Vendor.xml
- Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader and delete Vendor.xml.
(If you are running 64-bit Vista or Windows 7, the path will be C: > Program Files x86 > Common Files > Research In Motion > AppLoader)
- On Windows Vista/7 navigate to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (Where "YOUR_USER" is your username)
- On Windows XP navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (Where "YOUR_USER" is your username)

Iphone 4s won't turn back on no matter what I do. How should I fix it?

My iPhone today randomly turned off with about 15% left. I assumed it was just out of battery and plugged it in. After about 20 minutes there were still no signs of life and it wouldn't even give the low battery signal. So i plugged it into my computer. Still nothing. I switched chargers and tried on the wall and computer. It's been left charging for a few hours but nothing will turn it back on. When it's plugged into my computer and I go to iTunes, there is no recognition of my phone. Does anyone know what's wrong or what I can do? I leave for vacation early tomorrow.
Also, for extra, my sleep button has been broken for about 6 months so I use that other button to put it to sleep. I usually turn it on by just holding the home button once i plug it in but that obviously has done nothing.
Please try to help me.

Usually you would do a reset, by holding down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release.
Since you have a broken sleep I don't see any other options .

If the hard reboot trick you tried didn't work, and you weren't recognized on iTunes, then you must have had some kind of memory card failure. I hope you have a backup. I am pretty sure Apple would replAce your phone if it broke from interior damage.

DFU mode an try to restore to iOS6.1.4 it will wipe out the whole device if it works but than youll kno if its a software issue if it works or ahardware issue if it dont work

I charged it for 15 mins, unplugged it, set an alarm, and 5-7 minutes later the screen was black and won't turn back on. The case/phone is still hot, and it still won't turn on after 2 hours. It hasn't cooled at all either, and my AC is blaring in this house.

If you are having issues with your iPhone powering off unexpectedly you may want to follow the steps in this article for troubleshooting -

Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.

Your phone is broken; there's no magic solution for you. You can try plugging it in to wall power and see if this turns the phone on, but if it doesn't, you can either go on vacation without your iPhone, or make the time to visit the Apple store before you leave.

Thanks for your help. I tried plugging it in but nothing happened, I actually still had battery power left. I was able to solve my problem by holding down the power and home buttons, which reset the phone and got it started again.

My iPhone 5 was a refurbished phone that I received under warranty in November. However, it worked fine until last week when it started turning off at 50% and below (which is the same reason why I had to get this refurbished phone in the first place). But because it immediately turned back on, I thought nothing of it and ignored it. However, my phone went dead two days ago and won't turn back on. I've used two chargers that worked the day of, but it wouldn't charge with either of those and those wouldn't even connect my phone to my laptop. So, thinking and hoping it was both of the cords malfunctioning, I went out and bought another cord. Plug it in to a wall outlet so it has power, then do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.
