i lost my phone.
i locked it by iclould then careless,i delete the device on icloud.
my phone is still power off.
i wanna claim my phone,they told me to obtain this number by following the instructions on this website. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1267
but i dont know how it works
and how can i prove it's my iphone!????
if you did not install the find my iphone app which let you track, disable and msg it using a mix og internet and gps
then the only thing you can do is to report it to the police and take contact to your insurance company

If they are not on your 'My Photo Stream, you only other option is try to restore an iOS device from a backup of your lost iPhone (either via iTunes or iCloud, where ever you were backing up to). Obviously you will need ot inherit and iOS device to do this.

How do I turn on My Photo Stream?
After your devices are up-to-date and you have set up your iCloud account, it’s easy to turn on My Photo Stream on any of your devices:
iOS devices: Go to Settings > iCloud > Photos (Photo Stream in iOS 6), then turn on My Photo Stream.
Mac: Go to System Preferences > iCloud, then select the checkbox for Photos (or Photo Stream). Click the Options button and verify that the My Photo Stream checkbox is selected. Restore from an iCloud backup
If you have a new iOS device, or if you need to restore your iOS device to resolve an issue, follow these steps.
Follow the initial steps in the iOS Setup Assistant (select your language, and so on).
Select Restore from iCloud Backup when the assistant asks you to set up your iPhone (or other iOS device).
Select the backup you created earlier.
You can restore a backup only by using the iOS Setup Assistant.
If you've already set up your device, you can erase all current content to go through the iOS Setup Assistant again. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Do this only if you already have a backup, because this step will remove all current content from your device.
Restore from an iTunes backup
If you have a new iOS device, or if you need to restore your device to resolve an issue, follow these steps:
Connect your iOS device to the computer that has your backup.
Make sure this computer has the latest version of iTunes.
Choose File > Devices > Restore from Back up.
If you're using iTunes 10.7 or earlier, right-click the device from the list and choose Restore from Backup. -

Apple can not do anything to find the lost device, it all depends on whether you had the Find My iPhone service turned on (and of course whether the device was connected to icloud).
Details:
If you activated the Find My iPhone service (in Settings>icloud), and if the device's batteries still have a charge, the device is not turned off and has not been reset and is connected to wifi, then you can try to track it. Using a computer, log into icloud.com and look at the Find My iPhone page. On a device, invoke the Find My iPhone app (get it for free at the itunes app store) and log into the icloud account.
If the device is listed as "offline", then one of the requirements listed above is not met (like being connected to wifi, or if the device was stolen and the thief reset it). -

You must have had find my iPhone on, or it was locked by your phone carrier.
Call your our cell carrier first.
then log on to a computer to iCloud to erase your iPhone.

Quickest place to look is in the label attached to the box the phone came in.
Not around anymore? Maybe the carrier you used the phone with can facilitate the information. Also, when under contract, the IMEI is listed in the paperwork. Apple, alas, is quite unhelpful with that information. -
