Help! My iPhone won't turn on :'(

I was uploading to Facebook and left my phone to complete the upload, when i went to check on it, the iPhone seemed to have turned it's self off? i've tried the on/off button, plugged into the mains to recharge. I've tried to plug it in to iTunes but it doesn't even recognise the power from the computer, it doesn't even show the battery when plugged in? whatt's wrong with it????

1. Charge using the AC adaptor for at least 30 minutes. If the phone shut down due to depleted battery, it can take 5-10 minutes for anything to show on the screen.
2. Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons for 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears, then release.
If there are no signs of life doing the above, there has been a major hardware failure and you need to take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

Your post is extremely vague and several months old but hopefully this info can help others seeking a solution. I too had a problem with my iPhone (3gs in my case) not coming back up.
What happened -- I was using it normally and it rebooted and was stuck on the apple for a long time and wouldn't ever get past it. So I tried to reboot it by pressing power + home but it would just reset and never power off, and get stuck every time.
What I did to fix it -- I actually had to just remove the SIM card then reboot the phone. After it came back up I put the SIM card back in. It froze up for a short time after that as the service reactivated. But then it is back to normal now finally. Whew!

I know this is much later but if anyone else has this problem I think I've found the solution, the problem is the obvious SIM Card, you may need to activate your sim card on your carriers website! I am with Orange EE and that's the verdict for me! Hope this helps P.S. I've had the same problem x

It's been charging all night last night and all day this morning and you know when it is in the process of turning on and the apple comes up, well every single time after the apple comes up it doesn't turn on normal, the apple just disappears and the entire screen goes black with just a loading circle in the center and it has been doing this for over 12 hours. I've tried to reboot it by holding down the circle button and the top button together and it turns of completely that way and then I turn it back on but it still goes to that black screen with the loading circle. Long story short, my phone won't turn on. Please respond if you know a way to fix this.

Here are steps to get DFU Mode: Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer. (some turn off iPhone here, I do not) Hold both home and power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release power button, keep holding home button until iPhone recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes 10-20 seconds of holding the home button. If the iPhone screen is black (blank) the iPhone is in DFU Mode.

Without the sleep/wake button, the only chance to turn it on is to connect it to the charger. You may have to wait for the battery to go completely dead. The only other choice would be to take the device to the Genius Bar for replacement.

IPhone won't turn back on.

My iPhone 4S just randomly switched of on about 80% power and it won't turn back on. I've tried holding down the home and sleep buttons as well, but no luck. I put it into DFU made for recovery, and it did get discovered by iTunes, but the display doesn't turn on still.
It hasn't been damaged externally in anyway either.
Please help.

Sounds like a hardware problem. Make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.
