HELP! My Ipod is Homeless!

Hi,
My Ipod Nano is loaded with stuff that took me forever to organize, etc.
But unfortunately, my emac, where I originally based my Ipod, CRASHED, and I had to clean and restore everything.
Now when I plug my Ipod into my computer, it pops up with my name and everything (Joe Schmoe's Ipod, etc) but does not pop up in my ITunes.
Do I have to reinstall the Ipod software? If so, i think my OS is insufficient because I only have 10.1.4 on there. And I am not hooking it up to the internet unless it's a last resort, so I wont be able to get any software updates etc.
Do I have to delete everything from my ipod before setting it up with my itunes? If so, I am not sure how to delete everything just from my ipod.
Anyone had this problem before?

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
or
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Run this to help if it identifies the cause

Have you tried on another computer to help determine if you have a computer or iPod problem?

Your Touch is working correctly. Currently, without unsupported third party hacks, the Touch has NO disc mode. It will only show up in iTunes.

Right now, you don't. The SDK is scheduled to be released in Feburary. Then developers will be able to write programs that will be loadable.

You said you updated yur 1G iPod to 4.2.1. A 1G can only go to 3.1.3 and thus you must have jailbroken it to get to 4.2.1 and that can cause problems.

- Does the iPod connect to other networks?
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost

Try restarting. Press and hold the sleep/wake button until you see the red slider then swipe to power off. Then press and hold the sleep / wake button until you see the Apple logo.

Help my Ipod suddenly stopped working 2 min after unplugging it from my scion pioneer ipod ready radio. I am not sure what happened; it was working fine and charged sufficiently and i walked into the gym and tried to turn it on, and no life. I'd say your "Scion Pioneer" radio fried your Mini; could have been a power surge, or could be a bug.
You might want to go the "aux jack" route next time.

Help with Ipod mini

I'm having a problem with my mini. It turns it self on, and then right back off constantly, until the batteries run out. when i hook it up to the computer, it recharges, and then goes back to the on/off cycle. the computer won't recognize it. All i see is the apple logo clicking on then off then on etc...
I've tried resetting it, but it just goes back to the on/off cycle.

i was able to connect and synced songs yesterday.
but when i tried it again today. i cant connect again.
i tried to disconnect and reconnect million times and i even dropped
my iPOD and now it has some scratch and i hate it.

Help my ipod is doing weird stuff. It froze for a few hours then turned off. when i tried to turn it back on an apple appeared and then a sad mac. I tired to reset it and put it in disk mode like the website says. It didnt work many times!!! Then a folder icon showed up. Then a sad mac followed by a batterywith (!!!). finally the apple now comes on the screen moves to the right (next song side) then it goes to a menu that says I RAM PASS, press play to continue. I pushed play and it looks like some kind of bios. I ran a test caLLED A2D TEST AND NOW IT WONT STOP TESTING HELP!!

reseting does not work. I press the buttons, Sometimes a sad mac comes sometimes a folder another time a battery when it fels like doing something different the apple moves and i get into the bios. I tried reseting restoring and putting in disk mode for about 30 hours now

Help - frozen ipod (1st generation) on language screen

Help - my ipod (which has been lovingly cared for) froze while playing music. I couldn't skip tracks or replay etc so I did the pressing the menu and select buttons (many times) it rebooted, but was still frozen, so I restored it to factory settings. It has duly restored but now it is frozen on the select language screen and I can't move from there. Any suggestions please?

That's impossible, every Mac. has Disk Utility. You might have to go down to the Apple Store and ask them why you don't have Disk Utility.
