HELP! My iPod keeps freezing

well it started yesterday...it froze on me so i just reset it...well today it froze on me 5 times....and now when i pulg it into my computer it pretty much freezs my computer...but whats weird is when i reset it, it keeps my setting...mostly just the clicker in my headphones...b4 it would reset that and id have ot put it back to it..but now when i reset it it keeps it...but the fact that it froze 5 times today is scaring me...idk what to do...

well today really freakd me out...i was walking into school and i was listening to my iPod...well as im walking it stops..i look down to see that its frozen...AGAIN....so i reset it and when it comes back up i go to my play lists and NOTHING IS THERE....my songs are all gone...so im really ticked off now...so i go through first period and i think ill try and reset it...when i reset it and it came back up it the first thing i see is the language selecter...like when u turn it on for the first time...so i select english and still NO SONGS... so this isnt helping my day at all...so like the stupid me that i am...i decided to reset it to show my friend the language thing...but when it came back up..the apple logo stayd on for a long time and then POOF....all my songs are back..im like ***...this is freaky..so my songs have stayed..but its froze on me 3 times since they came back...should i look into havenig apple look at it?

I think as your iPod is still under warranty you should get it serviced, or at least take it to an Apple store if one is nearby.

My iPod keeps freezing during the middle of songs etc.?

My iPod keeps freezing in the middle of songs and even when i plug it into the computer to charge. I've tried to restore it but iTunes rejects it, saying that it has an error. what can I do?

I have an Ipod touch. Recently it has started stopping in the middle of the songs. Sometimes it stops completely and sometimes it goes to the next song.
All the songs is it stopping on are recent purchases from Itunes. A couple of the songs stopped midway while playing them on Itunes. I did unsync the new songs and then added them again.
I tried the reset mentioned above, but it didn't help.
I have over 3000 songs, I'd like to avoid unsyncing and resyncing if at all possible.
the restore to factory defaults removes all the updates, doesn't it?
I'd appreciate any help.

Frustrated! iPod keeps freezing when trying to update

My 40G iPod keeps freezing whenever I try to update it. I plug it into the computer, iTunes starts but then freezes after a song or two. Sometimes it crashes me whole machine. In any case, I can't add any music to my iPod, rendering it useless. I've seen s imilar posts but no solutions. I installed the latest iPod updater software and am using the latest version of iTunes. Funnily, this problem didn't start until I upgraded to the newest iTunes. Can anyone help? This is very very frustrating.

Also noticed Apple has suspended downloads of itunes 6 for the time being ... wondering if its a related bug.

Do you have a 6G Nano? If so, this is usually a sign that your headphones are not plugged all the way in. Make sure you cannot see any silver still showing from the headphone's plug. It may require a little extra force to get the headphones to become fully inserted. You should hear a sort of clicking noise indicating that they have been fully seated.
Also check the headphone port from a damage or debris.

When your iPod freezes, it's not necessary to wait until the battery drains, you should just be able to reset it. If the freezing persists, then try restoring it.
Yes, you should be able to get it serviced under the warranty if the fault persists.

I had this problem with my old 20GB classic ipod, it all started when I began using my ipod for my running trainings, every day it used to get worse freezing every 10 minutos or so, then I got ****** and bought a new 80GB classic Ipod, I have it for about 3 weeks now and guess what? It started freezing or skiping songs also. I did a test where I synced the same library on my both ipod and the songs being skipped on my new one wasnt being skipped on the old one, so its a problem with the song, then I though it could be any damage in the ipod HD but my new ipod has no reason to be damaged, the only impact that it might have recived is from my running trainings, but the impacts are really weak. Other test I did was trying to remove the song being skiped from the ipod, everytime I did that my ipod couldnt be ejcted, it kept showing me the following message "The ipod canot be ejcted because it contains files that are used by another aplication." I had to unplug my ipod without ejecting it.

Why does my Ipod 3 keep freezing up? I have reset it as discribed in the online help 4 different times and it still freezes.
I at first thought it was due to the song was an MP3 but it has since froze on ACC and CDA audio. This would tell me it isn't the format that is causing it to freeze.

By a reset do you mean an actual hard reset of the device or a restore of it in iTunes? If it was the former, try a restore of the device in iTunes. If it was the latter, your iPod likely needs servicing.

I connected my IPod to a computer without internet (the computer read 2007 and i didn't think anything of it) and when it connected to ITunes it was doing its thing automatically and when i stopped it it froze my ipod. I had to restart the ipod but every time i restart the ipod it keeps freezing on the apple logo with the little spinning circle. even that froze! the circle keeps getting bolder but its still frozen on the apple. When i updated my computer to 2011 it recognizes the ipod fine but itunes doesn't so i can't reset it. i don't know whats going on. please help?

Try this First... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the iPod Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
Turn the iPod On...

I've restored it, i've reset it. nothing is helping. it freezes many times a day. so i keep reseting it and a few minutes later it freezes again. i've restored it multiple times but it keeps freezing anyway. I'm still under warranty until christmas but can i still get it replaced since it's a 30 gb? they have the iPod classic now so i don't know if i can get it replaced.

in the new version of software the ipod now requires that you fully connect the headphones before use because alot of people would be jogging and if it came off of the clip the ipod would immediatly would fall to the floor and crack and since accidental damage is not covered apple just made sure to give a warning if they are not using it correctly
you may also notice that the fm radio may not work or can't find a signal, connecting the headphones all of the way will solve this issue as well

I just got my iphone and was testing the compass function. For some reason, the compass keeps freezing after 3-5 seconds of use. It would move for a while and after 3-5 seconds, it would freeze.
I tried reading the forum but looks like no one is having a similar problem like mine.
I have done a rest by pressing on the power and home button but the problem persists.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this? This is frustrating as I need to reply on the compass at times. Please help.

OK, I called Support, and explained my situation. I was also having an issue with callers not hearing me on the other end (this is when the signal is good).
We went through all the standard help support questions and steps:
Did you turn the phone off and back on? yes
Did you hard reset the phone? yes
Did you restore the phone to factory defaults? yes
OK, looks like it might be a hardware problem - you can take it to an Apple Store for replacement if one is near by, or we can ship a new one to you.
So I have a new one on its way. should be here today. we will see, but I am pretty sure this one will work, Since the ones at the store had no problems.
You do have to figure that these are made in China, and as many as Apple makes and ships, there are going to be a quite few that don't work right (not talking about the antenna issue, that's a design flaw and it has been beat into the ground)
Apple has, to my satisfaction, taken care of me with little hassle. If this one comes working correctly, I will be happy.
I have never been a fan of Apple, due to their closed expensive proprietary nature, and lack of expandability. But this iPhone is currently the best phone on the market. I take my hat off to Apple for creating an awesome new generation of devices. I hope they work hard and stay ahead of the coming new android phones, they do deserve it. (not trying to start any flaming wars here, I bought the iPhone because it is the best out there)

I have the 80GB Ipod Classic, and for some reason it keeps skipping songs, for instance, whenever I go to look under a certain artist or a playlist of even just under "songs" I'll pick one and then it will skip one or two or ten, and there are some songs it just doesn't allow me to listen to anymore. Only on my ipod though, not on itunes. It also keeps freezing and will sometimes just stop in the middle of a song and skip to a new one. I've tried resetting it, and leaving it alone for a few days and letting it charge and leaving it off. Nothing seems to work.
