  • IPod Nano won't sync with iTunes on new laptop

When I first got my new laptop about a month ago I did the 'homesharing' technique to be able to use my iTunes on it, it worked successfully up until I tried to purchase new music from the iTunes Store & upload music into my Library from my laptop.. It just wouldn't sync onto my Nano! Every time I clicked the Sync tab nothing would happen even though the music had all been purchased/uploaded perfectly fine. I had ofcourse made sure my iTunes was 'activated' onto my new laptop, etc etc & when I went onto my old laptop to try it on there all the music DID sync onto my Nano.
Since then I've re-installed iTunes several times even copied my full iTunes folder onto an external USB stick & transferred it that way & still my Nano will not sync with my iTunes! The new iTunes isn't helping much either as I find it quite confusing to work out as it's totally different. But yeah even with the new iTunes upgrade my Nano still won't sync.
I'm at a loss, I've no idea what the problem is! Can anyone help?

after restoring ipod nano it wont sync with itunes. states error 13019 occured

I seem to recall that another user has this problem and found that it was because of some corrupted music files they were trying to sync over.
Try syncing smaller bunches of tracks till you come upon the ones that cause the error. You should be able to find out which ones are causing the trouble this way.
The other user said they used something called MP3Diags. I cannot vouch for this software at all, I have never used it.
I did a quick search on "how to repair MP3 files on Mac" and also found this:

  • IPod Nano won't sync after iTunes update to 11

My 5th Generation iPod Nano will not sync to iTunes 11. I am running iTunes 11.0.1, on an one year old iMac running on an Intel Core i5, running MacOS X 10.8.2 with 4 GB of memory. Now that we got that out of the way-- I use this iPod daily. Once I updated to iTunes 11, synching has been sporatic. Once I plug the iPod in, iTunes opens like it should, however the iPod never appears in the iTunes window, only in the Finder. I have done the following:
ejected the iPod from the Finder window and then unplugged it, and reattached the iPod.
Quit iTunes and restarted, reStarted the iPod by toggling the power switch and holding the Menu/Select buttons until it restarted.
    Rebooted my computer
    Restored the iPod nano
Results are the same. Sometimes it will sync, after an extended period of time, without reason. Once I eject and need to reconnect the device, I am unable to get it to sync. Sometimes I have ended up with a spinning beachball and have force quit iTunes and sent a report and a description, but Apple doesn't seem to have come up with an update yet.
I can tell you this-- I have not seen an iPod that would be a suitable replacement for this one-- I love not having to look at the screen to operate it's simple controls, and it is the perfect size.
I can also tell yo uthis-- The new suprise user interface on iTunes 11 is clunky and requires too many steps to maintain my playlists. Do not like it.
    Suggestions?

  • My ipod will not sync with itunes.  The computer says its there but itunes does not.  I've tried everything suggested.  I keep getting an error message at the very end.

Here is the error message I get.
When iTunes does install, my ipod still won't sync because it's the wrong version.  I've tried doing the version it suggests and still nothing.

  • My new ipod nano won't sync with my new itunes?

I have purchased a new ipod nano and for some reason it won't sync with my itunes.  Please help

Make sure the Enable disk use option is NOT ticked from under the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes. If you do have to remove this tick mark, be sure to hit the Apply button in the lower left hand corner of the window in iTunes to update the changes to your device. Then try restoring it again.

  • IPod Nano won't sync in iTunes.

Have synced my iPod Nano with iTunes many times, but this just started occuring:
Display on iPod flashes back and forth between "Connected" and "Ok to Disconnect" and getting following message box on iTunes:
"An iPod has been detected but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again.
If the problem persists, uninstall iTunes then install iTunes again."
I have done all of the above and even tried with a different cable. Same problem. I'm also getting intermittant messages about faster performance if I use a USB 2.0 port and another one that the device driver can't be installed.
iTunes is not recognizing my iPhone 4 now either.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello 510turbo,
Try this to fix the issue:
How to fix: iPod nano detected but not identified properly
From the sounds of it, your usb ports may be going out on your computer. If Other apple devices are having the same issue, its more than likley that its the usb ports.
Test your ipod on a different known/good computer. You can test it at an Apple Retal store by setting an appointment. Apple.com/retail
    Hope this helps.

  • Ipod nano does not sync with itunes library, ipod nano does not sync with itunes library

bought an ipod nano, upgraded Itunes to version 11 running on Windows 8.
My nano is set  up with a different apple ID than my main account, but it won't sync with my Itunes Library, When I plug it in via USB, the IPOD nano icon shows up in Itunes, but when I do File>Devices>Sync,  the Snyc is grayed out.
does the differenct apple ID on the nano have anything to do with the fact that it is different from my Itunes Apple ID, is that causing a problem? Most of the music in my library is uploads from CDs I had already owned, not Itunes purchases.
    Solutions?

Automatic syncing is set up on the iPod's Music tab in iTunes, which is where you tell iTunes how to sync your iPod.
Select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary).  Click on Music there.
To use automatic syncing, the checkbox for Sync Music is checked.  Below that, you can choose to sync Entire music library, if it fits on iPod.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.
With the latter choice, you can create a selection of songs to sync to the iPod by selecting (checkmarking) playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres on the Music tab.  For example (if you want to keep it simple), you can create a new playlist in iTunes and add all songs you want on the iPod to that playlist.  Back on the Music tab, checkmark that playlist.  There are many ways to set it up...
When you Apply the change, your selection of songs syncs to the iPod (replacing its existing content). Going forward, any changes in the iTunes Music library that are related to your selection of songs on the Music tab sync automatically to the iPod when you connect it, or when you click Sync.
Therefore, if you create that playlist with songs you want on the iPod, and select it on the iPod's Music tab, you can simply update that playlist in iTunes (add and remove songs) whenever you want, and those changes sync to the iPod automatically at the next opportunity.

  • After years of use, my ipod classic will not sync with itunes on any computer. I have wiped the ipod clean and it still won't sync. what to do?

I had about 80 songs on my ipod and it worked fine until one day i purchased some new music from itunes and discovered that it wouldn't sync. I tried various things and finally wiped the ipod clean thinking it would sync then. It doesn't and now I have no music on it. When I check for devices, the sync option is grayed out on itunes. I even tried it from another computer but it won't sync with that either.

  • Ipod classic won't sync with Itunes

Help! Since the time change, neither my Iphone 3G nor Ipod classic will sync with Itunes.
I unplugged Iphone after receiving can not sync messages. Plugged back in & Itunes did a restore. However, upon starting to sync, message re-appeared that it could not sync. I unplugged Iphone and it is still functional.
However, when tried to sync Ipod, syncing continued overnight (about 12 hours). When I awoke this morning, PC was frozen and had to hard boot it. I then went back into Itunes and Itunes did not recognize that my Ipod was connected. I ran diagnostics and it failed at recognizing Ipod. Ipod is frozen with message "Connected, Eject before disconnecting' and is not functional. I have sent diagnostics to Apple and am waiting to here from them. However, thought I'd check here to see if anyone else had encountered this issue. I am totally lost without my Ipod and can not run or workout until repaired. That may sound silly. But it really helps me mentally through workouts.

Update: OK! I am not sure what happened because I have tried this all morning. I held down the menu key on Ipod for about the 12th time. This time it rebooted. Ipod is functioning and appears that it did sync. However, I am not yet confident about connecting it to Itunes. I may wait until I am ready to purchase more tunes in a few weeks. LOL.

  • I have a 5th gen ipod that won't sync with itunes. It is recognized in itunes.

I have a 5th generation iPod that will no longer sync with iTunes even though it is recognized in iTunes.

The message has nothing to do with iPhones or iDevices and makes no sense.
iDevices do not get authorized, computers do.
What are you really trying to do?
