Help my ipod (touch) lock button doesn't work
my iPod lock button doesn't usualy work only like 40 times then stops

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recovery mode use this program
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

IPod Touch Home Button Doesn't Work
Hi all! My (Fourth Generation) iPod Touch's home button isn't working as well as it once upon a time did when it was new 2 years ago. I keep having to press it 3-6 time for it to bring me back to the home page. If I hold it down for a few seconds and then press the home button, it most of the time works. There are many questions similar to this but I wanted to start my own. More opportunities to get points right!
So, Any Ideas?- You can turn on Assistive Touch: Settings > General > Accesibility
- You can repair for:
iPod 4G - 8 GB - 99$
iPod 4G - 32 GB - 149$
iPod 4G - 64 GB - 199$
(if you have none of the models above: link)

Baby sucked on iPod Touch - Home button doesn't work
My 1 year old grabbed my 3 week old iPod Touch 2G off of my desk and put it in her mouth. Needless to say everything went berserk on the iPod. Screen was flickering, touch didn't work etc. I turned it off and let it dry for a day. Now everything is working except the Home button. My question is, can I get this thing repaired or is Apple going to pull the liquid damage stuff on me. The indicator is pink now from her drool. 3 week old iPod!! This is my third iPod from Apple and will NEVER buy another if I can't get this fixed without hassle and extreme expense. I am upset... any answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

It IS liquid damage. It can't hurt to have it looked at, but it will probably cost you to have it fixed. -

I'm really worried about my iPod touch home button doesn't work I'm not sure why is it broken,I never drop it or put water on it. Please apple support community please help me. I bought my iPod touch 2 years ago.
Hi,
You can use the alternative called assistive touch to enable assistive touch go to settings>general>Accessibility>scroll down to the bottom of the page and enable assistive touch a white dot at the bottom right of your screen will appear press the white dot and you will see the home button
Hope this helps
N.B. book an appointment with an apple genius although they will charge you if you get your iPod fixed by their repair services due to your warranty expiring -
My screen is frozen on the camera and my phone won't let me shut it off. My lock button doesn't work and my assistance touch button won't let me shut it down either. My phone also takes hours to die and my battery if fully charged so i can't wait for it to die i need to get it back to normal asap! How do I get it to unfreeze?
A reset is when you press and hold both the home and sleep buttons for 10 seconds or so until the Apple logo appears. You won't lose any data. Give it a try.

I bought this iphone 3gs off an app. I just want to use it as an ipod. it is sim locked (with two attempts left) and the lock button doesn't work at all. What can I do? I just want to use it as an ipod.
I have also tried everything. I took the sim card out and put it back in again. And I have also left it out. And I have tried connecting it to itunes but I need to unlock. (some of these were suggested by the seller)
Please help me.
imMy guess - and this is completely a guess - is that the SIM in that phone has a PIN that was added to it by the previous owner. Whomever you bought it from didn't bother to check for this (or didn't care) before they got it from the previous owner.
You need to get a new AT&T SIM for that phone - you could even borrow one from a friend if they have one that will fit the phone. You would only need the SIM to activate it.
There is no way to activate an iPhone without a SIM in it, even if you don't plan to use it as anything other than an iPod.

Ipad wont reboot & my sleep or lock button doesn't work??
I updated ios 7 on my ipad just yesterday. After a while I used it, then my ipad kept popping out shut down mode, and lock the screen randomly.
I tried to reboot it, my screen kept locking randomly. I tried to reboot it for three times, and for the third time, my ipad wouldn't boot up.
I connected my ipad to itunes and tried to restore my ipad.
The screen now has quitted to lock randomly. But I found out that my lock button doesn't work anymore. And the next thing I did was to reboot my ipad by pressing the sleep/lock and home button at the same time, hoping that my lock button would work again, and suddenly my ipad showed apple logo frequently without showing progress bar. And the last thing I do now is to connect my device to itunes, and it is now back on. But the lock/sleep button still not working. And I think that if I reboot my ipad again, it will give me the same problem as it wont reboot itself unless i connect it to itunes.
Please help me regarding this troubleshooting... My ipad was perfectly fine. Thanks in advance!Eauddixon wrote:
For the past month or so my lock button hasn't been working. It takes three or more tries to get it to work and sometimes I just can't even use it.
Looks like a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is required...
Be sure to make an appointment first... -
I bought my iphone 5 for just a few months. But the lock button doesn't work these days.
Place the iPod in recovery mode using this program:
For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
For MAC or PC
The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
Then restore to factory settings/new iPod. If still problem you have a hardware problem. -
On my daughters ipod the lock button does not work and was wondering if we can get it fixed or can we get a brand new one. One of my daughters Friends mom's told me her daughters lock buton didn't work and she got a brand new one for free from the apple comany. My daughters ipod is one of the older ipods the onesd without a camera. and also on the ipod when you go to charge it you can't put it in all the way because the piece is broken inside.

If Apple can;t easily fix it Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

Iphone won't turn on after being dropped?lock button doesn't work
I dropped my iPhone 4s onto the ground , and the screen is black. I've looked at other apple discussions and they said to hold onto the home and lock button. However, my lock button doesn't work! I've been using assistive touch on my iPhone ever since the lock button stopped working
If you haven't, try connecting it to your charger. If that doesn't bring it back to life, there's nothing more you can try without a working sleep/wake button.
