HELP MY IPOD WENT CRAZY

Hi i just recently bought a 30gb 5th Gen pod, and have been enjoying it, up until today, when during an update, my computer froze, and it absolutely wiped the ipod clean of all my music!! I had stuff on there that wasn't on my computer, and now i've lost it all. Can anyone tell me why this happened, and whether or not i should be worried that it might happen again?
Oh also since then, it won't let me play the music from my ipod through my computer - is there a way to resolve this too?!

We restored it several times and tried all sort of the suggestions on the troubleshooting sites, etc., but to no avail. I had to return it. They sent me another last fall, and now this one is actin' a fool, too. I'm doing the 5 R's and all, but no good, and I haven't received any help since I've posted questions on here... I think this model is just funky. I love the software and the convenience of the mini itself, but I think I'm going to have to return this one too, and that's two times too many!

Please help! my ipod went crazy!

I have had my ipod mini since july 2005, and it always worked fine, until about 3 months ago I was at the gym and it was working fine, when all of a sudden the text on my screen went all blurry and looked smudged. There was no damage to the actual screen or anything, but after this happened I was unable to use the wheel to scroll anywhere, it was like frozen. I went home and tried to charge it, and that didnt work either.. it wouldn't even charge or anything. I tried to reset it like the online support suggested and that didnt do anything either. After that day I could not even turn my ipod on anymore and the blurry text was not visible? I finally just ordered it to be serviced, but does anyone have any idea what might be the problem? or if anyone else's did that too, can you let me know what was wrong with yours? Mine is still under warranty, but I only had to pay for shipping.handling...but im wondering if they will cover this? although there is no physical damage to it? so I dont see why not? Please anyone let me know Thanks sooo much!!!

Help-my ipod does crazy things

Hi. I recently got my ipod and am having trouble. First, every other time I plug in my ipod to my computer it says that the program that is needed can not be found. I have reinstalled itunes twice, and restarted my i pod multiple times. I also bought music and more than half will not play. My ipod will be playing on any setting (shuffle,playlist,etc.)and when it comes to certain songs it just starts to skip them and go to the next...Any advice? It is driving me crazy.

HELP Mz kezboard went crazy

Today I discovered that mz keyboard got the keys wrong way around, Like y and z swapped places. also . and , and few other symbols. Anyone else has that problem, can it be fixed easilyć not sure where question mark is. This mad. Thanks explanation mark

Sounds like you might have an international keyboard turned on- you can see if you go into system prefs, International, then have it show keyboard viewer and US (under input menu).
ALso make sure English is at the top of the language list.

Yesterday, as today's deadline for filing tax returns approached, I was paralyzed by the inability to create new IRS PDF forms and to retrieve archived ones from a year ago. My computer went crazy. 24 hours later, I am still paralyzed. Can you help?

My computer went crazy yesterday on two occasions involving PDF documents. One dealt with attachments to an email from a bona fide corporation. The other dealt with IRS PDF forms & schedules needed for today's submission.
As both dealt with PDF and had nothing else in common, I suspected my PC had a virus. When I asked a local store technician, he agreed. I turned to Norton, which protects my PC from viruses, and after a few hours of really thorough searching, the computer was found to have no viruses.
Before describing what I call "crazy" computer behavior, you need to know that I have long had IE8 as my default browser but a few weeks ago switched to Mozilla Firefox because IE8 had beome incompatible with some websites from which I get information.
When I received the email from AT&T email service and clicked the first of four icons representing attachments, there was figuratively an explosion on my monitor: a series of new tabs, each called New Tab, burst onto the monitor--but no text or picture. The new tabs appeared faster than I coul kill them. I finally decided just to shut down the computer, hoping they would not reappear when I restarted. I was wrong. After 2 repeats, I decided to forget about the attachments and asked the sender to send them to me by regular mail.
That was no solution for my IRS PDFs. I wanted to complete filling in the various forms and schedules that I had begun months ago so that I could mail them today to the IRS (without having to copy them all in ink). When I tried to open the first one, BOOM. The same thing happened: the blizzard of New Tabs atop blank pages; my IRS form or schedule did not show up. Did the same shutdown/restart routine with the same results.
When I looked at the list of current forms that had to be completed, I noticed something very strange: the icons that began the listing of the documents' names were replaced one by one by Mozilla icons. When I moused over them, they said Firefox HTML. Why?
Starting the day today, I had the same experience. What's more, when I started to retrieve 2012 IRS PDFs from a year ago, the same New Tab tabs appeared and had to be killed, and Mozilla icons replaced whatever icon was there before.
Assuming that the problem arose with Adobe Reader's reading of the PDFs, I contacted Adobe but got no helpful phone number because PDFs are a free service and was directed to use this Forum to get help.
What do I have to do to (a) read and use PDFs in the normal way and (b) remove the Mozilla icon from those that have appeared on icon documents. If Mozilla is the source of the problem, shall I go back to IE8? (In my 80s, I want eventually to replace my old computer but for the time being I must continue using it. It will not take an IE9. Anther possible default browser would be Google Chrome, but I have unfavorable impressions of it because of its intrusiveness, loading my PC with stuff I do not need.

The problem is absolutely not Reader. The problem is that FireFox has stepped in front of Reader and handles all the PDF stuff - wrongly in your case. FireFox is DESIGNED to take over PDF files. But it is not capable of doing IRS forms!
To start with go back to IE for these forms. When you save them to disk DO NOT DOUBLE CLICK ON THEM until this is fixed. Just open the in the normal way - start Adobe Reader and use Open from the File menu.

Try resetting it by holding the sleep/wake and home buttons simultaneously for 10-15 seconds.

Since all of your music came from your computer in the first place, then it should still be there and should be included in your backup copy of your computer.

This is not true. You have misunderstood.
You can sync as many ipods/iphones/ipads as you like to one one library.

HELP ME- ipod mini wont play songs!

i have rescently moved houses and had to load my ipod mini on to a new computer and new i tunes list. I re loaded all my music on to the new list and transfered my ipod to factory settings to wipe all my old music. But when i went transfer all of my music to my ipod everything went bad!
my ipod says it has the songs on it but when i go to play them it plays none of them and just skips them all! Also when my ipod is connected to itunes i cant play the songs that are said to be in my ipod, but all the songs in my library play perfectly! (which are the same as the ones in my ipod)
please help me im going crazy!!!

One last thing, when your iPod is connected to iTunes and you try to play it through the computer do you get Grey text when you look at the content and lock symbol at the bottom of the screen? This would mean that your iPod is set to "automatically update songs and playlists". . If you want to access your iPod directly, play it through your iTunes, connect it to a second computer etc. you just need to change the update method to "Manually manage songs and Playlists" in the iPod preferences. But now, there is a processing circle on top of the logo, but the circle spins once, and stops at about halfway to the bottom. It just stays there, and about every half to one hour it becomes a white screen and starts all over again. (not the loading bar part, just the circle). I've tried holding the power and the home button, and it works, but it just goes back to the circle screen with the apple logo. HELP PLEASE?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Netbeans 6.1 went crazy after updating

This is driving me crazy (too).
After updating Netbeans 6.1 went crazy and doesnt stop opening itself everytime I close it.
In other words "*Everytime I Exit Netbeans it opens itself again, then I close it and it opens itself again...*"
Anybody can help on that? (I dont know exactly where to ask about this).

My Ipod is Crazy

I have an 20G Ipod, it worked perfectly until yesteday, when I tried to update the Ipod software with the 01/10/2006 version. As soon as I hit update it went crazy. For starters I got "Ipod Manager Internal Error", in the knowledge data base it says it happens because there is conflict between versions of Ipod and ITunes. So I downloaded a newer version of ITunes. Now I get all sosrts of messages. "Formatting Failure. Disk Error", "Firmware Update Failure. Disk Write Error", "Can't Mount Ipod", and other weird messages. The update cannot fomat ipod, it gives error. It has version 1.2 installed, (last time i could turn it on), I don't know what it has now. All this happened as soon as tried to update the sofware from 2005/26/06 to 2006/10/01. Now all I have File with an Excamation Mark, and when I plug it in the PC (Windows XP) it treats it as new hardware, it even says Unknown sometimes, others the Ipod shows the do "Do not Disconnect" red flashing sign, but not in the thick red circble, but in a smaller and narrower red circle, probably an older version. I can't go back to the older version either, it won't let me. The thing is I am completely lost.

It's me again, but with the answer, the new version (2006/01/10) does not work, what I did was uninstall all Ipod and ITunes software, and reinstall the original CD, after that I downloaded the newer ITunes and it worked fine. One thing, I saved the ITunes folder in My Music to the desktop and put it back when I downloaded the newer ITunes, that way I didn't lose all the saved information in the library.
Hope this is usful to someone, it took me quite a while to figure it out.
Do not update the IPOD software, it does not work.

When electronics get emersed in liquid, it's not the actual water that causes them to break (although if you spilled something like coke with a bunch of sugar, the sugar would stay in the device even after the liquid of the coke dissolved). What breaks the device is if either it was on when it was emersed in water, or if you turn it on before all the water can evaporate. If so, the water will conduct the electricity between the wires and short circuit the device. If you weren't thick enough to try and turn your device on immediately after you took it out of the washing machine, then it should be fine if you just let the water evaporate. Another technique (to make the water evaporate faster and, on rare occassions, to save a device if you've turned if on while there was still water in it) is to put the device in rice and let it sit overnight. Hope this helps.
