Help-my ipod won't work with my mercedes.

I recently leased a mercedes ML, and my ipod will not work in it. The dealer said it is because I don't have the most updated software but itunes says I do. I have software version 1.2.3. Another ipod worked in my car but mine doesn't. Why is this? Is there another ipod update that I'm missing? Is my ipod too old to work in it? I read somewhere that I needed version 2.2, but I can't find that anywhere! Please help! Thank you.

Without knowing what happens when you try to restore via iTunes as the screen is telling:
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Please help!  Ipod won't work with my itunes after plugged into MAC

Hi, I am brand new to my ipod and i plugged it into my PC to get it started, then i plugged it into a friends mac to get his songs- now when i plug it back into my computer it says it is linked to another itunes library and asks if i want to link it back to this one and replace all of the music. I do not want to loose all of the music but want it reconnected to my itunes with the music on my computer and taking the music on the ipod (from my friends itunes) into my itunes. What do i do? I apologize if this is something posted before,i couldn't find an answer. Please help!! thanks

That above article will not resolve the issue. It explaines it clearly in the article.
"Using an iPod formatted for Macintosh on a Windows computer is not supported. Using an iPod formatted for Windows on a Macintosh computer is not supported."
this means that it won't work with out a 3rd party tool. You HAVE to restore it if you take it between different OS. That document works only if your taking it between windows machines or all mac machines.

    Any fixes?

I also had problems with iTunes 7 when it first came out, but 7.0.2 is working for me and seems to have fixed a lot of the problems. It's worth a try if you need iTunes 7 for your new iPod.

Because I tried it before but it made the music dodgy.

  • Help Ipod won't work with my computer anymore!

I have a 5th gen Ipod and it has been working fine for the first month I've had it but recently I can't seem to get it to work with Itunes or even be detected on my computer. I've already tried all the things it says to do on the support page and none of it seems to be working. I've reinstalled everything and tried the Ipod updater but it won't work. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what should I do? Is there any way I can just get a new Ipod since I've only had this one for a month?

  • IPod won't work with new computer - please help

When I bought my iPod, I had it hooked up with Computer #1. That went with my ex-husband in the divorce, so I no longer have that computer.
I now have my parents' old computer, Computer #2. My dad has an iPod that was originally used with this computer, but none of his songs or libraries are on Computer #2 anymore. The iTunes library is totally empty. I tried hooking up my iPod, and it said that my iPod was already associated with another computer. So I authorized Computer #2 to play my iPod songs, and that didn't work either. I cannot deauthorize computer #1 since I don't have it anymore. ITunes would not let me deauthorize both computers, like it said you could do once a year.
I am at a loss for what to do. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem!! I had my library on a computer on XP and now I have Vista and don't know how to transfer my Vista. If anyone can help please let me know!!!!!!

  • Help! iPod won't work or connect to XP

Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. All the music was erased off my 5G 30GB iPod Video last week for some reason (interestingly, the photos were still there). When connected to iTunes, it gave me an error message about needing to "reinstall the iPod software."
Today, I got a new hard drive and installed XP Pro on it. I connected the iPod via USB and the little taskbar bubble popped up saying "Found new hardware -- iPod." Next, I installed the iPod + iTunes software from the CD, restarted the PC and run iTunes. My PC and iTunes didn't indicate that the iPod was connected, so I plugged the USB cable into another slot -- nothing. (I know it isn't the USB because I plugged in a thumb drive and it works fine). I've also tried to update/restore the iPod... but alas, I can't because it's not recognized.
What happened to the iPod is even stranger. After the hard drive was wiped, I was able to turn it on and off and view photos. Now, it only displays the white Apple logo with the black background. The backlight keeps switching on and off randomly, the iPod won't turn off, and the hard drive is making the same noise it does when you change a song, only every few seconds (I assume it's doing this because it keeps turning the backlight on and off constantly).
I've only been able to use the iPod one week out of the two weeks I've had it -- and I'm really disappointed about it. Will I have to send it back to Apple? (hopefully under the 30 or 90 day warranty, whichever I qualify for)
    Help is appreciated.

In order to restore it, it has to show up on the desktop, I think. It doesn't. I downloaded the software, and it's waiting for me to plug in the iPod (which is plugged in).
I actually have been reseting it every minute or so since I read your post. Before I restore it, the battery icon doesn't show any lightning bolt or motion. Then if I restore it, it appears to be charging for a short time. I was wondering if I was going to have to charge it in lots of short increments (I don't have the optional charger).
I dug out the manual from under the desk. And it says that if it is extremely low on power, I may need to leave it charging for 30 minutes before it is recognized. I think from a sentence in there: "Leave iPod mini connected until at least the battery icon animates." So, maybe it is actually charging when it appears to be unconnected and has no lightening bolt.
I've turned it off and left it plugged in and am waiting for a charging battery icon to appear. If that doesn't work, I will try leaving it on and plugged in (so far it just turns off when I do that). Again, any suggestions are welcome.

  • Help! nano won't work with nike+

when i plug the white transmitter into my ipod, it says the currently attatched accessory is not supported by this ipod" how do i get the sensor in the shoe and the transmitter to connect? and do i just not have the right nano?

You probably just need to update your nano's software. On your nano, look under Settings : About, to see what version of software your nano has. It needs to be 1.2 to work with the sport kit.
    Download the software updater here:
    http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/
and just follow the directions carefully.
    That should get you going.

  • Help! iPod won't work - started with iPod updater

    Hi,
I tried updating my iPod nano today as suggested. It installed and everything fine. But when I tried updating it, it gave me an error and I couldn't use my iPod. So I tried restoring it with the updater.
Nothing worked. The "Do not disconnect" sign is up all this while. So I try restarting my computer. The DNDisconnect sign is still on but now.. nothing works. I can't do anything with it and iTunes does not even recognize it. I don't even have the iPod sign on My Computer. So I disconnect it, against my better judgement. And it gives me the exclamation sign and tells me to go to the Apple Support site.
I do.. and I follow the 5 Rs. I start by resetting it. This brings me into the Disk Mode which is where I'm stuck at now. It won't exit even when I try restarting it. I've reinstalled the updater AND iTunes and nothing seems to work still. Everytime I connect it to try to restore it with the updater, it says Service error.
    Help.......?

If you get a message with iPod Service Error please see if either of these two links are helpful:
iPod for Windows: Fast user switching in Windows XP is not supported
iPod appears in Windows Explorer but does not appear in iTunes

  • HELP! Ipod classic not working with Windows 8

I have an Apple classic Ipod.  I just had to purchase a new PC.  It came with Windows 8 operating system.  When I plug in my classic ipod to this new computer it appears in itunes and you can see the songs that are on it but that is all.  I can no longer select one of them and play it on the ipod through the computer nor can I select or deselect songs on the computer to make a new playlist, nor do my new song purchases on itunes download to the ipod.  Instead they are on the cloud and unbeknownst to me they appeared on my Ipad.  I don't listen to music on my ipad so that doesn't do me any good.  I want them on my ipod.  Can anyone out there tell me what I need to do to make my classic IPOD work on this new computer or am I SOL?
    Thanks.

    Hello Ethan
I am a bit worried since using Ospprearm.exe for office in my 64-bit version of Windows
8 original version apparently changes my CMID will it affect my Windows Profile adversely as well or only office? I am told this rearms
    does "the following tasks:
Resets the grace timer to 30 days.
Freezes the grace timer until either an Office application is run, or the ospp.vbs script is run.
Resets the client computer ID (CMID). This is important because the KMS host uses the CMID to determine the number of unique clients. To check the CMID, use the command ospp.vbs
/dcmid. For more information about ospp.vbs, see The ospp.vbs script.
Note: If you run this command on either Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012, it only returns to CMID for Windows,
not Office. To see the CMID for Office 2013, look for event 12288 in the Application Event log..."
Your clarification will be deeply appreciated thanks!!!

  • WHAT HAS APPLE DONE? ipod won't work with itunes 9.0

I have an 80GB iPod, (MB147LL) when trying to sync with iTunes 9.0 the iPod gets corrupted. I have the luxury of having more than 1 type of Apple computer at home. All the computers that have been updated to iTunes 9.0 will corrupt the ipod all with itunes 8.2.1 will sync just fine. All systems are running 10.5.8 OSX. What is going on? I have several iPods and they all act the same. Surely this is not just a phenomena at my house.

I have solved the problem. You need to re-instore iTunes 8.21 by following these instructions:
    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10371925-263.html?tag=nl.e780
Would recommend backing every stage up though just in case.
Now plug the iPod into the computer. This is what happened. It still would not sync but said 'do not disconnect'. The iPod did this time show up on the desktop so I ejected it that way. Closed iTunes down and unplugged the iPod. Reconnected it to the computer. Opened iTunes. This time it synced. I let it finish syncing. But it still said do not disconnect. So I looked in iTunes and saw it was ticked for 'enable disk use'. Undid that and everything works just fine.

  • IPod won't work with anything anymore...

I have a 30gb video ipod. I also have a clock radio and a little under cabinet radio system that my ipod can supposedly be connected to (the clock radio is the jensen clock radio, the under cabinet is an ilive). When I first purchased the under cabinet radio everything worked perfectly fine. Then I got the clock radio. I couldn't use the controls on the radio (skip, pause, etc) to control the ipod, nor could I get the ipod to stop playing (i.e. i couldn't pause the ipod, or switch to fm) if it was connected to the clock, thus negating all use as a clock radio. Subsequently, when I connected my ipod to the under cabinet radio again, I was no longer able to use the controls (skip, pause, etc.) on this unit either. Anyone have any advice?

Did you use the two button combo to reset the iPod?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320
If that does not work, try putting the iPod into disk mode first, then connect it to the computer.

  • Help! Aperture won't work with Snow Leopard...

I know you will all probably laugh at me because I have just upgraded to Snow Leopard.  The problem is that nobody told me my Aperture wouldn't work anymore! I can't even open it to retrieve my photos...(btw, this is why I was hesitant to upgrade...but I had to because I got the iphone 5 which wouldn't sync with my itunes version and that wouldn't update unless I went to snow leopard...and so on....).
So, the problem is that I need Aperture version 2.0. so I can update that to 2.1.4 and be compatible with Snow Leopard.  I have 1.5.6 and kept it that way because it was working for me and I just basically use Aperture as a photo storage system. I can't find 2.0 anywhere. I can't figure out how to uninstall snow leopard either. I need my photos back asap.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you in advance,
    Debi

    One more question, debi.
Does your Aperture icon show a circular ring like the ghostbusters? Like below for my CCC?
And is the "Kind" listed as "Application (PowerPC)" when you use "Get Info ⌘I)? That would indicate that your current Aperture version is still a PowerPC application. Then you can still make it run on Snow Leopard. You have to make sure that your Snow Leopard installation includes the Rosetta environment.
Do you have a Snow Leopard install disk? Look into the "Optional Installs" folder on this disk and open the "Optional Installs" package. Proceed as described in the second part of this
    article:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1167117/reinstalling_rosetta.html
If your Aperture 2 version is still a PoerPC app, installing Rosetta should enable you to run the aperture 2 installer from your installation disk and then upgrade to Aperture 2.1.4.
