    - I suspect that he went to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings.  For 1G or 2G iPod that can take hours and it will likely stall out if not connected to a charging source.
    Try the following:
    - A reset.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - The connect to computer and try to restore via iTunes.
    - Id something is still showing onthe screen, disconnect from computer/charging source and let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour, Try the reset and restore.
    - If you can turn the iPod off, se if placing the iPod in recovery mode and then restore. For recovey mode:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore

  • My ipod turns on shows the apple logo, then turn into a white screen until it dies.

I was updating my ipod and it was almost complete, it restarted and the loading bar under the logo stopped. Then the ipod restarted again and now when it turns on it shows the apple logo, then turns into a white screen until it dies. After I charge it again it does the same thing automatically. Ive tried to restart and restore it but it wont work. What do I do? I've tried all the troubleshooting and nothing is helping.  The screen is also cracked, this wasnt the cause because it worked fine for 3 months after it was cracked.

See if placing the iPod in DFU mode will allow a restore.

If not successful that indicates a hardware problem. It could be that the damage started with the drop that also caused the cracked screen and the damage progress to the problem you have now. An example would a cracked that has finally progressed to it causing the problem.

  • My iphone will not stop showing the apple logo and rebooting

How can i get my iphone 5 to stop rebooting and actually show my screen. All it does is show the apple logo and then its goes away and the screen stays on but shows nothing. I can triple click to invert colors but that only makes the black screen white. My lock button does not work either so i cannot hard reset

It appears you have a hardware failure. Certainly the lock button has failed. Without that button you cannot reset which is the first thing to try in cases like yours. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

My ipod touch only shows the apple logo, and i can't connect it to my computer. when i connect it, it doesn't show up in my itunes, or even in my computer. I was updating an app last night, and it wouldnt work, and it shut off.

  • Ipod only showing the apple logo and will not do anything else. 1st GEN

my ipod will only show the apple logo when plugged in to my computer i have a dell running xp but i have tried other computers and it will not do anything but show this symbol. my computer does not recognise that it is plugged in. ive tried the apple support fix-it but it does not do anything period. the buttons do not work when plugged in or not. the only thing it does is light up when plugged in. my other ipod works perfectly no problems so this leads me to believe that its not the computers i have used. just think the ipod has had it

Mine did the same thing last week after trying to update it via wi-fi. I then spent 11 hours Sunday updating my itunes on the laptop then restoring my ipod. Now all it does is beep as if it is just plugged in and flash the white apple logo. It beeps constantly. My computer at first didn't recognize it, then it did but said I needed to unlock it,(since I can't get the home screen up, I can't.) and now it doesn't recognize it at all. I've tried both computers.

Can someone please help with my issue listed - My ipod 4G wont go past the apple logo when I turn it on - it will stay on the apple logo for few min, then blanks out and back to the apple logo.  Tried reset option/troubleshoot several times.  Also wont show up on computer at all when I plug in to USB.
Any tips are very much appreciated.

Place the iPod Touch into DFU mode.  This will be similar to what the factory would do to install the iOS onto new iOS devices.
Placing it into DFU mode will allow you to "format" and install the current iOS for that device.
To place your iOS device into DFU mode.
First connect you iOS device to you computer.
Open iTunes if not already open
Now turn off your iOS device using the power swipe.
Press the home and sleep button on your iOS device for 10 seconds.
Release the sleep button but carry on holding down the home button.  For another 10 seconds.
Your iOS device should now be on DFU.  Click on restore and iTunes will download the latest iOS for your device.
Hopefully that sorts it if not, you will have to go to a service centre or call Apple Care up and get them to collect it and repair it. (replace it)  Or go into an Apple Store.

These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
    Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
    Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
