HELP!  My iTunes playlists are missing.  I updated to 11.0.4

I updated iTunes to 11.0.4 and all my playlists are missing.  I followed the advice on the iTunes website and it didn't work.  I am unable to set up NEW playlists also.
HELP?  Anyone else have this problem with 11.0.4?  Thanks for any help.

I updated iTunes to 11.0.4 and all my playlists are missing.
Are only playlists missing or also the songs and movies?
Or is simply the sidebar with the paylists not showing? To reveal it, use the command "View > Show Sidebar ⌥⌘S" from the main menu bar.
I've tried that and it didn't work.
I followed the advice on the iTunes website and it didn't work.
What advice did you follow? What exactly have you tried so far? Is this, what you tried:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451  ?
Yes, I tried that.
I am unable to set up NEW playlists also.
Is the command "File > New > Playlist" grayed out or ineffective? What exactly happens when you try?
It isn't 'grayed' out, just ineffective.  No new playlists can be set up.
Thank you.  I appreciate any help.

  • I'm tearing my hair out. Got a new iphone went to sync and now all my iTunes playlists are missing. Please help

Basically my iTunes playlists have gone missing. They were there yesterday and today I got a replacement iphone. I connected it to itunes and they were gone I was left with just 3 songs I had downloaded from the itunes store. I've read previous posts about recovering them but I can't find 'previous iTunes library' the folder with the dates in for exaple itunes library 2012-03-09.itl - all I can find is music - itunes then one a few options but none that has the dates on
    Any other ideas
    Please help

Can you copy over the library again from the old computer?
    And yes, backup is advisable.

  • ITunes playlists are missing on new Mac Air that used to be on PC (Mac is authorised)

I have entered into the world of Mac by buying Macbook Air transfered my files using portable hard drive as I had a PC before.  Opened and authorised Itunes just fine, my files seem to be there (still figuring out matching and icloud) but big problem is that all my great playlists are not there.  Really not sure what to do. I thought Itunes wouldbe the same no matter whether I sued PC or Mac?  Please help.  I am not a IT pseron so step by step help would really be appreciated.
    thanks

Content does not move itself from computer to computer unassisted.  You only see some of your previous content in iTunes because both computers were connecting to the iTunes Store and using that as a source.  You have to transfer your library from the old computer to the new.
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder.

Failure to do so will mess up the install and you must start over.
I'm not sure if I should take a chance... Could you please explain step 4 a bit more detailed? Do I have to click on "reboot" (where?) and then within 10 seconds turn off the virtual machine? HOW would I do that? THANKS!

Until your iPod Touch is using iOS 5 or higher there is no way to upgrade without using iTunes on your syncing computer.

  • After upgrading to 10.5.2.11 all of my library and playlist are missing...help!

I upgraded iTunes a few days ago and then opened iTunes to find my music and playlist were missing. I have Vista on a Sony Vaio. The only other thing I can possibly think of that might affect my issue is that I deleted the old short cut icon on my task bar for iTunes. I tried the solution on Apples website to restore my music (which still shows up in my "Music" folder on the c drive by the way) with no luck. It either just didn't work or I did it wrong. This has got to be something simple, but I'm at a loss???

Updating to iTunes 7.7 and OSX 10.5.4 has fixed the problem. Why I don't know.

  • HT204406 All of my playlists are missing when I turn on Itunes match on my phone.  Itunes match as been enabled.  I have toggled several times.  Turned off the phone and restarted it.  Also tried restoring the phone.

My itunes match has been enabled.  I tried toggling several times.  I have restored the phone twice.  None of my playlists are appearing on my phone that are in Itunes.  I have to have these playlists.  Why am I paying for a service that not working properly most of the time.  The other day I could not play all of my songs from my playlist.

Try it again. Apple fixed the issue. Turn your Match off and then on again.

  • ITunes Playlist contents missing

I don't know if this happened when my music hard drive (external) died. I restored it all with a backup to a new hard drive. I also recently updated to iTunes 7. All the Playlists are there, just no songs listed.
There's an archived thread in the Discussions about this, but the poster seems to have resolved the problem, but there are no real details in there about what steps they took. The person had also moved files from another hard drive.

I don't know what would happen if I took an old iTunes Library file from a backup and replaced the current one. Would the changes I've made since the backup (added album art, new songs, videos, etc.) be missing from the database, or would iTunes recreate the database, adding in all the newer info since the old backup Library was last modified, giving me a merged version of the old and new?
The steps outlined in the Apple Knowledge Base from the Discussions thread I mentioned refer to transferring music to a different hard drive using iTunes to accomplish it. I was having to restore the music from backups (using Backup) to a new hard drive--a different situation. Is it possible to recreate the contents of the Playlists?
    Thanks for any help.

  • HELP! iPod playlists are always getting f...d up! HELP!

This is a strange problem, infinite thanks to the person who can help me!
Once I updated my iTunes 5 to iTunes 6, on a different computer I have; shortly after that, the problem started:
I can arrange the main-folder AND/OR playlists on my iPod nano HOW I want, every time I disconnect and reconnect the iPod to my computer it's back to a totally confused state. WHY???
The width AND the chosen columns are always changed again, no matter what I do. I even resetted the iPod several times plus I put it back to its "original state" on iTunes 7 that I now have on my PC. Still the same problem. I think it has something to do with the iPod, not iTunes.
PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE as this is a really annoying problem.

    Additional information:
In the beginning, with iTunes 6, the problem "only occured" when I created playlists on my iPod. When I had no playlists at all on it, nothing happened. But even when I only put one song in my "On The Go"-playlist, the problem would appear as soon as I connected the iPod to the computer.
NOW with iTunes 7 ans much more options available for the connected iPod, the problem also occures when NO playlists are created on the iPod. :'-(
Funnily, now only the main folder seems to be cursed with this problem. The playlists I created on the iPod with iTunes stay how I wanted them. WEIRD!!! HELP ME PLEASE!!!

  • Standard playlists are missing, how do you get them back

hi,  the original playlists have all dissapeared from my iphone, i.e. recently added, recently played.... these are missing from the playlists on my iphone but they show up in my itunes library.
how do i get them back on my phone...
I have an iphone 4s 64gb running on ios6, they were also missing on the preious software version...

But I'm talking about going to the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings, unchecking Sync Music, syncing (which will delete all music and playlists off your phone, then re-checking Sync Music and syncing again (which willl sync it all back on).

  • Apps are missing after updating to 4G.

Apps are missing (all but 3) after updating ITouch to 4g
They still show up on Itunes but not showing up on Touch even after syncing
How do I get them back?

    First try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If not successful, try restoring the iPod from backup.
