Help!! My itunes stopped working!!!!!
Right after I updated my itunes for windows it stopped working completely it doesnt even open anymore. I've tried uninstalling it and re installing it but it wont help i even made a system restore on my computer and it wouldn't fix it. I've downloaded the newest version over and over but it just wont help. What can i do because now I cant update my ipod. Help please i'm desperate.
9 times out of 10 this is a windows problem or norton hasn't been set up to allow iTunes, etc.
Please read some of the posts over on installing and upgrading
http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=792
top fixes are
- turning off security software before the install as Apple suggests
- installing QuickTime standalone, not regular
- setting up Norton to allow iTunes
- scanning for malware with ewido

Try this. It worked for a few users after a drop.
Turn the iPad over and give it a very HARD slap on the back. May take several slaps.

ITunes Helper Module has stopped working
I just downloaded the new version of iTunes and now iTunes and Quicktime wont open at all. When I click on iTunes or when I first turn the computer on, a window pops up that says the iTunes Helper module has stopped working. Then another window pops up right after that says "iTunes has stopped working". It checks for a solution to the problem and then says "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." When I try to open QuickTime, it says "Runtime error! Program:C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QuickTime Player.exe This application has requested the RunTime to terminate it in an unusual way." I have Vista which seems to cause problems with the firewall and iTuens, so I turned off the firewall from my security software, switched on the windows firewall, and made sure the settings were right. I even tried doing a System restore to the previous version (same problems) and then tried reinstalling the new version (Still same problems). Anyone have any suggestions?!?!
hey stess,
I have the exact problem you have. I tried deleting (went into program files and deleted the folders ) from my system and reinstalling it. It worked until i rebooted my system, I am still on xp. The restore doesnt help either. It cant be my ipod ( its quiet old!) as it isnt even connected to my system at start up. I think maybe a bug with the new version that will eventually have more and more users affected when they update. I f i find a solution I will post asap... good luck -
ITunes Stops Working when I Sync- Help!

It give me a message to update to the lastest version of iTunes,,, I have the lastest version.... Any suggestions would be appreciated...
same issue here.
Try to syn videos taken with my old iPhone 3Gs (saved in my Window 7-32bit laptop) to my new iPhone 4.
iTUNES stops working whenever I syn those videos. -
Itunes stopped working error comes up as soon as it reads first track while importing CD and needs to close program (APPCRASH). I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes several times - also ran CD diagnostics in iTunes and looks OK. I'm on Vista Home Premium Edition. If it will help I saved the CD Diagnostics from ITunes and the Windows APPCRASH info. I've spend several hours trying to figure this out. Any ideas?
Problem solved! I had my pc plugged into a port replicator to use a bigger screen, etc. When I unplugged it and tried to import the CDs it worked fine. Not sure why I got the error but whenever I get unexpected errors in the future, I will take it off the replicator to eliminate that possibility. Thanks to all who reviewed.

Everytime I plug in my iphone 3gs and my itunes tries to sync itunes stops working and shuts down. I tried to uninstall and reinstall but it didnt work. Can anyone help?
Are you seeing any error messages?
Check this thread out -> itunes has stopped working...here are the problem reports:
Try unchecking the Include videos option in iTunes, under Photos. You'll click the iPhone on the left side of iTunes, then click Photos across the top of iTunes to see the option.
If you still want to sync the videos, you can add them to iTunes as movies and then sync them. You may have to right click and convert the videos in iTunes before syncing to the iPad (depending on how the videos were created). -
itunes stops working, cannot play video. I have tried uninstalling, quicktime and more to no avail. HELP!

I can't search a song or an artist without getting an error R6025 - pure virtual function call. Then itunes stops working. How do I fix it? PLEASE HELP
I have had numerous issues with Itunes 64 bit 11.1.38 (and other previous versions) locking up and crashing upon start with "Itunes has stopped working" or "R6027 pure virtual function call". I have researched the answers around the forums as well as having tried some extensive and repetitious troubleshooting myself and thought I'd list them here... in order of troubleshooting...
1. Install all Windows updates and reboot. This seems to clear issues from time-to-time... I suspect Itunes expects the latest-and-greatest as far as Windows is concerned.. see if this clears your issue.
2. Uninstall all Itunes and Apple products & reboot, remove their directories, remove lingering Itunes registry entries, reboot again, reinstall using "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" to install the Itunes executable. See if this allows Itunes to stabilize. Pelase be sure to use the following guide from Apple as far as removing the apps and directories are concerned...
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
3. Remove the contents of the "iphone photo cache" (or other related product photo cache) directory.
4. Try editing the shortcut properties and configure the shortcut (for all users) to run as Administrator.
5. Try editing the shortcut and configure it to run in Compatibility Mode for Windows 7 (for all users).
6. a.Try using MSCONFIG to locate a potential conflicting application or service using the following...
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2292
or
6. b. Remove the last recent software application(s) you may have installed... in my case removing GREENSHOT http://getgreenshot.org/ stopped my Itunes from crashing on startup and it stabilized after
driving my nuts for weeks.

Help please! can't import CDs, Itunes stops working and shuts down:(
Hi All, Itunes worked fine up until couple of days ago and now when I insert a CD to import it recognises the CD but when it starts importing, itunes stops working and shuts down immediately. What do I need to do? I read the discussions but couldn't find an answer, most questions were about burning a CD so your help will be highly appreciated...many thanks indeed
Itunes worked fine up until couple of days ago and now when I insert a CD to import it recognises the CD but when it starts importing, itunes stops working and shuts down immediately.
First we need to check your precise version number, elektra. In iTunes go "Help > About iTunes" and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom of the screen.
Do you see *iTunes 10.1.0.54* ? If so, we need to update you to version 10.1.0.56 . It probably wont appear for you in Apple Software Update if you already have a 10.1.0.54 already installed, so you'll need to download the installer from the Apple Website, as per the following document:
[iTunes 10.1 for Windows: iTunes may stop working and need to quit while importing or syncing audio|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3591] -

ITunes Stops Working When Syncing iPad3

Additional Information 4: df5422ac32f51ce35bf094d13827df89I just got a new HP Win 7 64x Intel i7 computer, installed the latest 64x iTunes etc and tried to move my iPad over. It will synch everything except for photos and videos; it gives the error "iTunes stopped working, program will close" when I try to synch my photos. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall etc. to no avail, it just keeps doing the same thing.
I went back to my old computer 32x machine and successfully re synched and put my photos back on. This seems to indicate that the problem is either with iTunes compatibility with the version of Win 7 on my HP computer or with the iPad compatibility.
Anyone find the solution to this bug? -
ITunes stopped working. Error 7 (Windows 127)
Suddenly iTunes stopped working.
At first my HP Pavillion showed the message "Error 7 (Windows 127)". I googled it, and found a couple of suggestions. I tried to uninstall iTunes and related program files in the right order, but it didn't work.
Now I get this message, and it doesn't help to uninstall iTunes. I allready tried it several times.
After googling the message above, I tried to open the iTunes setup file with winRAR, but that didn't work either.
Now I get this message:
Something about the procedure point of entry ADAdPolicy... is not found in the DLL-library.
When I click 'OK' I get the same message, as I did to begin with "Error 7 (Windows 127)".
What am I doing wrong?
I've spend more than 10 hours total, solving this problem, so if anyone can help me, there'll be best wishes and happy thoughts send your wayHi @TroelsDanmark ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP Pavilion Notebook and not being able to use ITunes. Can get to safe mode with command prompt? sfc /scannow would scan your system for errors at the command prompt.
Are you downloading ITunes 12.0.1 for Windows ? Current download available here.
Do you have 400MB of available disk space to accommodate the download?
First, try to click the Windows icon, type services in the Search box, and then click or tap View Local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type should be - Automatic, and Service Status should be - started
Restart the computer after this step and try installing again.
You could try this Microsoft fix.
Please let me know how this goes.
Thanks.
Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
