Help, my laptop wont load

My keyboard on laptop started acting weird, I updated the driver, still weird, I tried to change the language, nothing. I restored, turned off, then turned it on and without pressing anything, it typed a password and deleted it, I tried to type but nothing, restarted and it helped at me and turned itself off. I turned it on again, same thing happened.
I need help with it as it was expensive present from my brother, I need it to work, please help,

HELP! laptop wont load past Welcome and warranty out

I have an HP Pavilion g6 with Windows 7 Home OS. I have no repair disc/install disk as I bought it brand new with the OS already installed and ready to use. I bought it in Fall 2011, so my warranty is out and I can't get help from Tech because they want to charge me just to talk to me over the phone without a warranty.
My laptop will load until the Welcome screen, and I have seen many posts already about this issue, however they are all able to load in Safe Mode and/or still have their warranty. I cannot load in Safe Mode. System Tune-up will not complete, stops halfway through as Failed, Startup and Run-in tests also fail. I already had problems back in March this year and had to restore to factory settings.
What boggles me most, is it was working fine until 2 a.m. this morning, when i stopped playing Fallout NV - was offline, have not connected it to internet for some months now. However, after the game I unplugged my laptop and took it upstairs and plugged it in in my room, and since then it hasn't worked. I can get to the boot options (Esc, F2, F8, F9, F10, F11, F12), but unable to do system repair due to no disc, and even though when I restored it to factory settings in March and made sure to do a Restore point at that time, the OS is not finding that restore point at all. It is not acknowledging any external hard drives I attach so I can do a new restore point. I don't want to just lose my photos - they are the only photos I have of my children (i think this is why most of us don't want to just restore to factory settings all over again).
Is there any way to do get it up and running again without losing literally EVERYTHING? I don't give a crap about the games or apps, those can all be installed from Steam later on again. But i don't want to lose my photos and baby vids and documents.

Here are a couple of methods you could try to back-up your existing data.
1. One possible way to try and retrieve your files from a non-booting drive is to follow the process detailed in the link below. The Ubuntu operating system CD you create can run from the CD alone ( ie it doesn't have to install on the Hard Drive ) and I've often found it to be successful in retrieving data even from a failing Hard Drive. When you've created the CD, follow the instructions and see if you can back up your existing files.

2. Another option would be to remove the HDD, place it in an external caddy - an example is on the link below - connect this to another PC and see if you can access your files.

Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

Dreamweaver CSS wont load. Saids its missing Tahoma font. I have Tahoma loaded in the system fonts. I do have Suitcase Fusion 5. Could that be it?

ok so the laptop in question is a satellite l455-s5975. when i turn it on it shows the toshiba screen and thats it, if i listen it makes a weird noise,kinda sounds like a car that wont start. i tried pressing f2 to enter setup and it just says please wait and does nothing. any clues? any help would be great thanks!

you need to know how to remove that hard drive from your computer, and slave it using an hdd enclosure so you can access your data from another computer. Did you try loading BIOS to default? it might help..

My laptop is not even a year old yet, it has been working fine until today.
I switch it on and the Toshiba bit comes up then after that its just a black screen, and then it says

no bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key
I dont have a boot disk or anything! Does anyone no what this means?

Every notebook has specific boot order and in this boot order are different hardware components like optical disc drive, hard disc drive or LAN.
The boot up is always defined in BIOS settings and there is, for instance boot order HDD, LAN and ODD. If notebook cannot start from HDD ist starts from second defined device (LAN) and go on.
Boot order in your Satellite notebook is not known to me but somehow it stays on option to boot-up from LAN device and you can see this message on the screen.
Start your notebook again and press F2 several times to enter BIOS settings. Set it to default and try again. if the same happen start notebook one more time but this time with F12 to enter boot options. With up and down arrows chose HDD device and press enter. If HDD is OK operating system should load up. If not there is some problem with preinstalled OS.
Please test it and send some feedback.

Laptop wont load warranty expired a month ago

i have an HP 2000 notebook pc. product id is D1E81UA#ABA. serial # [edited by Moderator]. as mentioned above my warranty expired about a month ago. when trying to load my laptop i recieve a screen that says preparing automatic repair. a few seconds later it goes blank. im not sure whats happening. i was recieving a blue screen telling me error code 0xc000185 but now its just going to a black screen. help please

Help my laptop wont connect to wifi

Hi everyone
I wondered if anyone could assist me.
I have had no problem connecting my laptop from the day I bought it months ago,last night I turned back on to no connection,nothing I do will get it to connect without the cables.

Please Help -- Dynamic Text Wont Load :-(

Hi Gang,
I've just written a quick mail form in Flash8Pro/PHP - the
user enters their contact details & a message, and it sends it
off to the specified email address.
The feature works fine for the most part, but there's one
little problem. The dynamic text field that confirms the message
has been sent successfully isn't working properly. I'm using the
following php code to send dynamic text back to the flash document
saying the message has gone through OK:
print "sendresult=Message Sent!";
where sendresult is the name of the dynamic text field's
variable.
The strange thing is that the code works fine if the
sendresult dynamic text field is inserted into the main flash
document. It's only when I put the sendresult field into the movie
clip that holds the flash mail form (including the button with the
loadvariablesnum command), that the text won't update at all. I've
tried:
print "_root.enquirypage.sendresult=Data Sent!"
and
print "enquirypage.sendresult=Data Sent!", but neither of
those make any difference.
Any suggestions? Anybody know what's causing this problem?
Any help would be very very appreciated - I know I could probably
get around this by just setting the visibility of the dynamic text
field on & off when necessary and keeping it in the main flash
doc, but I'll be using this feature quite a lot and I'd really like
a proper/versatile solution. In case it's necessary, the
actionscript that sends the message off to the php is just:
loadVariablesNum ("form.php", 0, "POST");

Your code loadVariablesNum ("form.php", 0, "POST"); will load
your variable sendresult in level 0 - the main timeline. If you put
the text field inside a movie clip it expects a local variable in
that movie clip.
Use _level0.sendresult or _root.sendresult as the dynamic
field's variable.
Or, instead of loadVariablesNum you could use loadVariables,
like this:
_root.enquirypage.loadVariables("form.php", "POST");
or, if you make the call from a button inside the movie clip:
this.loadVariables("form.php", "POST");

Hi I am trying to wath the live NRL. I joined on the website but all I can do is listen to the abc radio option or watch highlight replays.... The "watch live" text does nothing. My laptop wont load firefox, it keeps saying my proxy server could not connect firefox. Why is this, it was working earlier.

Every time i try to open firefox my laptop tells me "The proxy server is refusing connection". This has never happened before. I updated my norton antivirus and firefox has not worked since.

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings".<br />
You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection<br />
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy"

HELP! iTUNES WONT LOAD

so everytime i try to start my itunes, i receive a message saying that the 'sofware application has encountered a problem and needs to close,' then i get the options of debugging, sending error report, or simply 'dont send.' i have chosen to do all three of them and i get the same error message each time- 'microsoft visual c + + runtime library: this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. please contact the applications support team for more information.' i really dont know what i should do... all i want is to listen to my music... please help me

i haven't had much (if any) luck troubleshooting these in other threads with people ... but something came up in a different thread that i'd like to check on.
can you recall the times at which launching itunes generated the crash? if so, let's have a look in your Event logs to see if any warning or error events were logged in there at the time of the crash.
right-click "My Computer", select "Manage" and click "Event Viewer. have a look in the System and Application logs to see if there are any error or warning events consistently showing up at the same time as the itunes launch failures.
click on the suspicious events to bring up a small window with more detailed information.
what is the Source, Event ID and Description of the events?

1. Make a back up.
Most Simple Back Up
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex:
Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically. Examples of such apps: Chronosync or DejaVu . But are many others. Search on MacUpdate
2. What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
