HELP! My LCD is cracked inside!

So my macbook is brand new only a week old, it hasnt moved off my desk since ive had it. I switch it on today and theres a 'leak' of pixels, like the screen has cracked inside, the screen is wrecked, what has happened? I don't know what to do. Feel like im going to cry, apple are going to think ive dropped it or something.

Hi,
I've heard of MacBook LCDs getting cracked when a lot of pressure is applied to top of case while the MacBook is closed. This could happen, for example, in a book bag where a MacBook is surrounded by heavy books and the book bag is subjected to rough handling.
Since your MacBook has just been on your desk since you got it a week ago, it must be something else. It sure sounds like a manufacturing defect. Perhaps the mounting frame on the LCD's PC board wasn't installed correctly, and the glass cracked. General Motors had a problem like that with car windshields where the window surround put pressure on the glass, and the window would eventually crack.
If it is a manufacturing problem, your probably not the only person to experience the problem. Hopefully there's been feedback about the issue, and AppleCare with fix it without arguing.
Best wishes for a solution,
Bill

  • Mac air 11 inch LCD screen cracked inside

I bought a MacBook Air 2012 11 inch model at the end of July, and the screen has a few blue lines in the morning. Then others white shades have followed horizontally and vertically and it now covers almost 2/3 of my screen. I went to the Icare service providers, and they asked for 20000 Thai baht ( equivalent to 700 dollars). I explained it is under warranty, but they said it is broken inside and it is not covered under warranty, but suggested me to call to Icare call service and send pics if they asked. If they said they will fix and under warranty, then the Icare service will fix it. The guy from the icare online asked all my information and now i am waiting his response. Have you ever experienced this ? Is there any Flat Rate options for my case since it is even under warranty. I am a student nd this Mac is my first Mac, bought with all of my savings.

Go to the nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider, and let them examine your machine to know if it would be covered under warranty. If they do not agree to cover, then telephone to Apple Care service you could easily find in the web page. There talk to the related department, explain your problem clearly.
In my case, I explained the problem carefully it was neither accident nor something happened to it. I only thought this would be a defect. Senior advisor asked for photos to take, and I gave him. From this point, I talked with that Senior advisor and his team. They denied it's a defect. Again, they asked me to send to the service provider, and ask the staffs there to take pictures and send to them again( perhaps this would be a double check). This time again, I was denied that it was a defect. They said this could either be an accident, perhaps happened without my knowledge.
At last, they rang me if I would be satisfied to just pay only the service fee(labor cost) with ( ZERO REPLACEMENT Cost) and that was it!!
If you are in Singapore, it would be the best chance for you. As far as I know all of their senior teams based there. Even my repalcement came from your country.

  • My iphone 5c got  cracked inside my bag.. Any help or support

My i phone is 6 month old. And it got cracked inside my bag. Any help from Apple? What is the best thing i can do?

Make an appointment at the genius bar. If you didn't purchase AppleCare+, some Apple stores can replace the display for $149. If yours can't, or if the damage is more extensive, a replacement phone is $269.
Accidental damage is not covered by the warranty.

  • LCD screan cracked

    Hi,
I purchased this laptop from India, and presently I am staying in Port Louis, Mauritius.
Suddenly my Laptop screen is showing white. I put it on local HP service center and they cofirmed the LCD is cracked.
As I have a  HP 1 year Accidental Damage Protection Plus 1 year 3 day Onsite Notebook Service,(  Expiry Date 01/26/2016) put it for repair on 3rd March 2015.
As per service center the LCD part no is not matched with HP master data sheet, they are unable to order the part to HP.
And they already  escalated this case to Master Data.
But till date my issue is not resolve. and my question is, I purchased it on 25th Jan 2015 and I have 12 warrenty, out of 12 months it's already 1n half months it's in service center. then what is the purpous is for Care Pack

Bad new maybe but if your laptop isn't sent back to India where it was bought to have it warranty repaired it might not get fixed under warranty unless you bought International warranty that might cover manufacture defects. That will require you to contact HP warranty support and ask them about this since your not in India so the warranty will not work there. Warranty is only honored in the Country it was bought from unless you purchased International warranty and then you will have to make sure you understand what it does cover and doesn't cover in warranty.

  • 15'' Macbook Pro - LCD Screen Crack (Internal)

    Hi All,
Help me out with my issue here. I bought a 15'' mac book pro (retina display) an year ago and it is still under the initial one year warranty. One day, while browsing, my screen started flickering suddenly for no reason. There was absolutely no external damage at all. I took it to the near by Apple store and was told that it will be taken care of as it is still under warranty. The guy who was helping me out at the store verified everything for any kind of physical damage and he could not find any. He mentioned the same thing in his notes and told me that it will be taken care of within 5 to 7 business days.
Today, I got a call from Apple store saying that there is actually a crack inside and it's no more eligible to get it repaired under the warranty and told me that it will cost around $750 to get it fixed. I was never told about this verification thing by a repairing service company in any of the interactions I had at the store. This is totally ridiculous. Why would there be a crack inside without having any kind of (not even a little crack externally) external damage?
What should I do now? I am not at all convinced with the reason that they are coming up with now, especially after handing it over after complete verification for any kind of physical damage. There is a reason why some one would go for Apple and I think the customer service is one of those undoubtedly but after today's experience, I definitely have to rethink about it.
    Thanks in advance !

    Hi,
I also have exactly same problem. Apple service centre has given me written response that it's due to pressure. They have ALSO mentioned explicitly  that there is no external physical damage after complete inspection . I am not able to understand how can this be classified as abuse or accident when there is no external physical damage at all. They are insisting it's internal physical damage.  Can someone explain me how individual can do internal damage without a screech or any external damage ?
Just for background , my pro was working fine till yesterday and when I opened it this morning it had that internal damage. To me it's clearly manufacturing defect and should be covered under warranty.

  • Need help! Z2 screen cracked. Need my data out! Check details below.

Hey guys, I need your help desperately.
So, my phone's screen cracked. Honestly, I dropped it and now it has some fluid and some parallel lines showing with shades of pink color and a very lil amount of blue and green color lines and its touch itsn't working either. It's screen is shattered. So, basically, I can touch it but it will touch at multiple places like crazy but I can't see anything. And to make things worse I have a pin lock. ^_^ How annoying pleasant is that. I went to the service centre, they said that my phone's screen cannot be replaced as this is a Z series and Z series only have the whole mobile replacement option. So, I need to get my data out.
My USB debugging is turned on, maybe this can help me? But Idk how. If it can, tell me!
And I can't access my phone until unless I unlock the pin lock on my phone. Please help me, I need my data. :'(
I saw this OTG method. I have an OTG cable but even if I connect mouse, I can't see anything so OTG with mouse failed. But I saw a post, someone said they used a keyboard and did some up and down and left right arrow keys and enter and it worked. If you know this OTG KEYBOARD method, please briefly explain it to me!
I read about some Android Debug Bridge. If you know about this too, please explain it to me. I'm literally.. crying inside. That data is.. my LIFE!
Anyways.. I read also about the Multipupose MHL to HDMI OTG with USB support, with which you can use a mouse and display the screen of your mobile on the TV or PC Monitor. But I'm not sure about that, it will cost me around 25 USD but I've seen people say in the reviews that it doesn't work for XPERIA Z2 or Z3 and stuff like that. So, I don't wanna risk it.
So, guys. If you know any other methods or these methods in brief with which I can get my internal data out, do tell me. And then when I get it out, I will give my phone to the service centre for replacement.
    Thank you..

Sorry to hear about your phone
If you have a computer that is allowed to access the phone over ADB you could try using a 3:rd party software like MyPhoneExplorer from www.fjsoft.at to access it.
If you don't have a computer that is allowed over ADB in the phone i would recommend that you try to get hold of a TV with MHL or an MHL-adapter (but make sure it supports CEC). If you have a numeric PIN you can unlock the phone using the TV remote. It works fine when i test it with a Sony TV here. When unlocked you can then connect it to a computer.

  • IPod Nano LCD screen cracking/scratching

i am a possible, going to be nano buyer and i was wondering if anyone who is a owner has had problems with the screen cracking and/or scratching. Also this is a question for owners with the problem and APPLE if the screen gets cracked or overally scratched withing warranty will apple replace it with a new one? also for people in singapore is there anywhere that i can get a 4GB nano, as most places have said they dont have them. thank you
      Windows XP

The screen scratching issue is really going to depend on just how badly you treat the device. I don't know how the screens are getting so badly scratched, and in normal use I can't see anything other than normal wear and tear. My 3G iPod is the same - a few scuffs and scratches, but nothing to stop it working.
If on the other hand you place the nano into your pocket without a protective case, keep change and car keys in the same pocket, then yes, it WILL get scratched. If you drop it or drag it over rough surfaces, if you take a sharp implement to it, if you use abrasive cleaners on it... and probably loads of other 'ifs', you'll get scratches on it.
They are not indestructible and the LCD screen is not harder than diamond. Take care of your Nano and you should be fine.
Taking it back with scratches through normal wear and tear, or through poor care, will not get you a replacement. You would have to show that it was an actual fault with the Nano itself, and I get the distinct feeling most are fine
As for purchasing a 4GB model, have you tried the online Apple store?

  • HELP- VISTA problem with div inside of div

    Hi all,
I need some Dreamweaver CSS help. I put together a profile Web site, http://lizconnolly.com/index.html and in VISTA/IE the yellow bio box inside the gray box is being pushed down. The box looks fine in Firefox and Safari, and I am not sure what the problem is.
My css file link is: http://lizconnolly.com/Connolly.css
    Please help if you can.
    Thank you for your help.

As I said in my earlier post, the pages look similar in both IE7 and FFox. The text is very close to the bottom line, but not spilling out of the box.

  • Help Sharp LCD TV HDMI SwitchResX and displayconfigX

Hi, the last Mac I used extensively was my 1984 version with 128K RAM as 1 internal and 1 external 3.5" drive ...... so, well, I guess you could call me a total noob with 10.4.
Anyways, I just bought a new Core Duo. I'm trying to hook it up to my Sharp lc-26d6u LCD TV. (native res 1366x768) I did the whole HDMI-DVI cable thing and that works; so now I'm trying to get SwitchRESX working....
I download the SRX control panel v3.7.1 .... crashed while opening!
So I make the the run only in Rosetta....
Now I can open the utility, but the instant I hit apply (to apply my custom res settings) it crashses again!
So they I tried DisplayConfigX. Wow, what a bear. Anytime I try any type of custom resolution, whether by "timing" mode or "scaling", I totally lose the ability to turn off overscan. Moreover, nothing works. I always end up getting a totally black screen. I've tried 1344x756, 1360x768, 1366x768, and 1368x768. I don't get a bad image, I don't get a shifted image ... I get no image.
So I end up having to have to either boot to single user mode and blowing away lots of stuff or VNC-ing into the machine to fix it.
I know people on this forum have got this working before .... can somebody help?
    Thanks
    Thanks
    Jason

Jason, please clarify the comment, " (native res
1366x768) I did the whole HDMI-DVI cable thing and
that works...". Question: If that works, then what is
the problem? Why are you messing with SwitchRes X?
    What is your goal?
Hi, sorry, the problem is that connecting to the Sharp doesn't give me 1366x768 as a selectable display resolution. The closest I get is 1280x7xx (xx= I forget exactly what it was). So the net effect is that I don't fill up the entire screen of the Sharp. Consequently, I'm trying to figure out how to get the Macintel Mini to spit out the native resolution of the TV.
    Thanks

  • [HELP] Changing LCD screens on a S55 B5280 Laptop for a higher resolution one

    Hi!
I was wondering if there's any LCD screen that i can buy to replace the one that comes with the Toshiba  S55 B5280, that can provide a higher resolution. It would be the first time that i've changed a LCD screen for one capable of more resolution.
Can someone help me on the subject? I don't need any "how-to" to do it, i just need to know which models that provide a higher resolution than 1366x768 are fully compatible with this particular laptop.
    Thanks in advance.

ArchLinux is designed to run whether in VirtualBox or on a real machine.
If you have a TV connector plugged in it will chop some regular lines at the bottom to make up for the difference in TV resolution.
There are a couple of packages related to nvidia hardware, nouveau is one of them.  Just do a pacman -Ss nvidia for possibilities of things you might need to install.  Your nvidia hardware is a little newer, so probably nvidia is the package you'll need instead of nouveau.
Are you using X?  When you install the proper xf86-video-* driver it shouldn't have any problems with X.  If modesetting is turned off, then some resolutions may not be made available (especially in Gnome), so it is best to keep it turned on if at all possible (kernel default).

  • From a small drop of the Galaxy S4, the LCD has cracked. Details in description

I have a flexible rubber case that increases the width (from front to back) by half a centimeter. This means that when it falls on a flat surface, face-down, the screen should not be hit. Unfortunately, I have learned that the case is NOT shock absorbent and therefore ending up with a cracked LCD (Not front screen). At first, the screen had wide, green bars on the front of it, and then after a while, the lcd did not produce anything altogether.
The drop was about 3-3.5 feet and it landed face-first on a linoleum floor. This happened on a normal school floor. The cracks are a little hard to see, but can be seen within reflection of the screen. All of the cracks are located at the top of the screen, mostly in the top-right corner, near the power button.
The cracks seem to start from the power button to the top of the screen, diagonally, and they are going 40 degrees, estimated. There are two cracks at the top center, and at the top right of the phone, there are seven. The sizes of these cracks range from 4 millimeters to 25 millimeters.
How much is the repair for a Samsung Galaxy S4 LCD screen? Possibly a front screen repair too (Please separate these two prices).
The system works completely fine. I keep getting notifications and it rang when I called it. The battery component seems to be in very good condition and the SIM card is not burned out or anything. The ONLY problem is that nothing will show up, and there are slightly visible cracks on the LCD part of the screen.

I would suggest contacting Samsung directly to find out if they can repair the phone for a fee.
Verizon Wireless doesn't repair phones and the cracked screen (even the digitizer) unfortunately voids the warranty.
